Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. How demanding is the Husky Trek? The description in My Viking Journey says you jog attached to a dog. I'm very interested in this, but am not a jogger.
  2. We stayed in Cabin 7012 or 7014 on our recent 15-day Mediterranean cruise and loved it! Never saw anyone from any other 7th deck cabins so it felt like we were on a private cruise. Steps from the elevators, just a few more steps to Wintergarden, and the pool is just beyond. We ate at the Word Cafe often ... just down the deck. It was well worth the extra cost (over 15 days it was not that much extra).
  3. The Rome excursions will be made available after your cruise leaves it's initial port. They will provide you with the list on paper and it will also be on your in-room TV screen. Don't worry about it, Viking will provide excursions.
  4. On MVJ, under Travel Requirements, then under Pre-Departure Information, read the PDF file. It has info for specific country requirements. This is the section for Turkey ... read the NOTE: Turkey - In addition to Viking’s vaccination requirement, please ensure you have the following: 1. US/CAN/AU Guests Apply for Turkey’s Electronic Visa, (from a maximum of 90 days to a minimum of 48 hours before departure), found here: https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/apply/. You will need your passport for the application and will receive your visa via email. Note: If arriving/departing by air or land, a visa is required in advance. For day visits by sea, a group visa is provided by Viking. For additional information regarding Turkey’s entry requirements, visit: https://www.tga.gov.tr/fight-against-covid-19-in-turkey/
  5. woo hoo! we'll be on this ship on Thanksgiving Day! so glad to know she's sailing.
  6. We haven't even looked at Rome yet, believe it or not. Hubs wants to wait and see if he just wants to use that day to rest up from the other stops. Thanks for the offer, and I'll keep it in mind! Sorry to not have a firm answer now. Where in Kansas are you? My dad grew up in SW Kansas during the Depression/Dust Bowl years.
  7. We are also doing the Athens to Barcelona trip. I can hardly wait! I sure hope the Neptune is ready.
  8. We are on Mediterranean Antiquities end of November and I have been wondering about the weather as well!
  9. We are booked for the Mediterranean Antiquities starting Nov. 24 in Athens, on the Neptune. I surely hope it's ready to go!
  10. We've booked the Mediterranean Antiquities ocean cruise in November. I've done Viking river cruises and other lines' Caribbean/Alaskan cruises, but have never been to the Mediterranean. How rough are the waters, and will we need motion sickness remedies there? I've used the Scopolamine patches and hubby takes Dramamine. I've never tried the wrist bracelets. Any words of wisdom or advice from more experienced ocean cruisers?
