  1. No snark at all here, but I'm not real clear on your intent. Are you asking to confirm you'll have a better experience on a Carnival 6+ day cruise. I think it's been well experienced that 4-5 day cruises tend to be rowdier (not just Carnival) but it sounds like you don't really enjoy the Carnival experience. Yes, there are different ship layouts, we don't know what ships you have been on. Each class of ship is pretty similar in layout, but there are different classes of ship. There are going to be a lot of overlapping throughout the fleet though. As mentioned above, the menus are changing, but I wouldn't expect a wildly different experience. And then it's going to be the same on all ships, so it's not going to vary from ship to ship. Some of the new ships have a lot more dining options though. The entertainment choices are going to be pretty much the same, so if you are looking for something different, ship size/length of cruise probably isn't going to change that. I'd say book an Excel class ship, that's probably the only thing that will change the experience by any noticeable amount.
  2. Honestly, I'm glad they don't swap for answers. Not because I cheat, I just don't want anyone to see my embarrassingly wrong answers. I actually do enjoy a nice ship on a stick, it's a nice little keepsake, but I'd rather lose than be subjected to that trauma. I know not everyone feels that way. On my last few cruises, they have been giving keychains of some sort, or something? Not ship specific, if I recall. That takes some of the sting out when I lose legitimately, to cheaters. I can do without the little metal whatever they are putting up.
  3. The actual critiquing of bread spread speaks a lot louder to me. I can't say I've ever been out to a dinner and put so much thought into what I was spreading on my bread, as has been discussed here. I just spread and enjoy.
  4. Since we're speculating, as Elaine5715 pointed out, OP posted in regards to a 9/7/2021 cruise with concerns to sail. Assuming this is the cruise in question (it likely is), I don't believe that cruise was cancelled. It's very rare that companies actually respond to credit card disputes at low amounts. And having received and worked disputes, a company can respond against the dispute and it's usually still credited back. I don't see anything unethical about a business no longer wanting to do business with a customer that has a history of chargebacks. That's just smart business.
  5. Still triple digits here, but getting closer to double! lol...
  6. "Renovations" and contracts. I seriously doubt the planned renovations will take the whole year. Sunshine is coming in 2025, pretty sure because the contract with Charleston goes through 2024. It would have been nice if they offered a few sailings on the Magic for 2024, but nope.
  7. By policy, yes. Some people say they have done it without rate changing. You should be prepared to be repriced.
  8. Dreams Studio is a professional photographer, and much better quality. We purchased a wedding package on a ship, and part of the package was a photographer. I was like, yeah, whatever, if it's those ship photographers, hard pass, I won't be purchasing those. I mean, they are fun and all, but not really good photos, I wouldn't pay for them. I mean, not more that the $25 or whatever the print costs. We even declined most of the "photo-ops" because we didn't think we'd be buying any. We actually got a Dreams photographer, and I must say, we were quite impressed with the photos, way better than expected. We regretted passing on more of the photo-ops. We did end up purchasing some, but stupid expensive. $1500 for a really nice book, 2 acrylics, and a thumb drive of all the photos. That was the "deal" price. We declined the first offer of $2500 and then they tell you what they "can do for you" and give you a better price.
  9. Sorry, full disagreement here. For one, if you do a chargeback, you are fully aware of the expectation for money owed. You might disagree with owing the money, but that doesn't change the fact that the company thinks you do. The chargeback does not change that either. Being placed on a "No-Sail List" removes the obligation to deliver the second product.
  10. First cruise - 2018. Carnival Glory. Always start every cruise with a Funship and a Guy's burger. Next, hot tub + more Funships. Then, nap. Often miss sail-away, due to said above Funships. We like to test the fates in the casino. I like all classes and size of ship, for different reasons. One of my earliest experience was watching a dive-in movie from the hot tub on the Glory. Can't beat it. Unpopular opinion, but I love the stadium-style pool deck. I also enjoy "bells and whistles" of new ships. Carnival Cruises: Glory 2x - First ship 2018! Where it all began. Won my first slot jackpot ever on that trip. Married on the ship in February this year! Sailed out of New Orleans, lots of good memories from that trip. Horizon 1x - So far. Booked on Horizon for ABC Islands in a Havana interior in November 2024. REALLY excited for that cruise! Magic 2x - both out of Norfolk, VA - local. Hated the Magic on trip 1. Found appreciation for her on trip 2. Celebration - Coming soon! February 2024.
  11. No, not new, I've gotten them a few times. The email ones are usually in your cruise planner too under pending ToDos.
  12. I think we all know the track record with RCI's IT department, especially when in conjunction with the casino lol. With that said, we did receive the offer without the FB at the end, 23VAR503, with a working itinerary list, so not sure why some are FB and some are actual offers. Who knows why they do what they do over there. But yeah, that would certainly be disappointing.
  13. I was onboard with this until it was pointed out that OP requested help on this forum several months ago, and information was provided that could have help. It was again provided in this thread, and there has yet to be confirmation that correct procedure was in place. At that point, I question the legitimacy of the details of the conversation with the Carnival rep.
  14. Is the expectation to really be served warm bread in the MDR on Carnival cruise line? If so, and that is the standard for level of expectation, I can see why a lot of people may be disappointed...
  15. We live about 15 minutes away, we took an Uber. Just had the drop-off destination as the Hilton to avoid any traffic congestion.

  17. We got dropped off at the Hilton and walked over with luggage, very easy.
  18. Sorry, late to say...Thank you for taking us along! Best ever live review, a nice break to live vicariously through you and HelloItsMeB. Now I feel a little empty inside...
  19. Elaine stands firm in her belief that past play doesn't matter, amid countless stories of experience otherwise. I use my own experience to tell me that is false, and just go with that. 😉 I have a much similar experience to yours, where my partner and I were receiving similar offers, until one cruise when I gambled a lot less, and mysteriously my offers declined, while my partners did not, with no other changes to data points. Her wife theory doesn't hold any ground, since we're both the wife. 😆
  20. DOU should stay, from what I've read. There have been some accounts of OBC or Funplay being lost. I don't have any first hand experience with switching rooms though. If you don't have either of these, probably no issue to switch. She should go to the casino with her own Sign and Sail though, the room key would just be for access to the room. The other key would be the one to use for everything else.
  21. This is very commonly done. Sorting out room charges isn't that big of a deal, you just attach a payment method to each one. You can separate into separate portfolios for each person. The biggest issue I've seen come up is loss of perks when moving occupants, so some people suggest to just leave as is, and get an extra keycard for each.
  22. I think you can only be logged in for one cruise at a time on the actual app. On the website, you can see your multiple cruises, but I don't think the app allows this. Log out of the one you are in, and log in with the new booking number.
