  1. FD8 is for one person only - terms below. Perhaps highSeas22 received DOUE for everyone and a companion, but those are not the terms of the offer. If so, that was a lucky break. Edited to add: There are codes that include DOUE for you AND a companion, but those offers state it, just like the DOU in the casino states if it's for just you or you and a companion. FD8 is not one of those offers. That's why you need to read the terms of each offer.
  2. We have never had any problem ordering a "Funship." As mentioned, they are the exact same thing as the Pirate Punch, but every waiter I've encountered knows a Funship. Could change 10 years down the road, but I've asked for a Funship as recently as June without a question. Seems like an odd choice on Carnival's part to change the name lol, as lots of people can't wait to order a "Funship" as soon as they board.
  3. You can also redeem points for a statement credit, against any travel related purchases. That's usually what I do, rather than go through the OBC process. If you have a single purchase over $1500, it's 1.5x redemption value. So I'll usually just charge the cruise total if it's over $1500 and redeem points for a statement credit. Or, we tend to spend a bit on board, I'll redeem it on the post cruise charge, since it's usually over $1500. It's easier and a little better return.
  4. You can purchase anything, but there are different spend/reward offers, just read whatever offer you are applying for carefully.
  5. It was announced they had partnered with MGM. I haven't seen a schedule of rollout, but looks to already be showing up.
  6. As long as the casino offer is in your name, just add the friend's name or make up a name. They might ask you where the other person is when you board, just say they are arriving separately. They may even call you after you are on the ship. That's usually when I say, they couldn't make it. But I wouldn't leave it TBA, I don't think that it will even let you.
  7. No, it won't give you the option to use points themselves. They have to be redeemed first. As mentioned, I only see the option currently to purchase Cruise Cash Bar or Cruise Cash Photo, so I don't think there is a way to do what you are hoping to do.
  8. My understanding was it had more to do with alcohol tax than consumption. I can't recall a source, just some recollection that Royal Caribbean, or other lines that allow drinks in Galveston, pay a certain amount of tax to allow this on a limited menu, while Carnival does not choose to pay that tax, and just waits until day 2. Again, just chatter, but it made sense.
  9. I usually just use them to "Pay With Points" which is just a statement credit. It has to be a travel related purchase though. If the charge is over $1500, it's 1.5x redemption, so a better value. I think also 1.5x if you save to 100k points, but not sure on that one.
  10. It is in fact "you can't purchase a fishbowl if you have Cheers"...Again not to say it doesn't happen, but that's the policy.
  11. How did you redeem the points? Did you do it on the website under Onboard Gifts? If so, then yes, agreed with dbrucern above, I believe it is done as Cruise Cash, which doesn't show with the OBC, it's on the main page of Booking and Order Details - under Activities & Services Order History. You have to put in your booking info, so I think it is applied automatically, but sometimes it can take some time for the redemption to process. The only thing I see available on the Rewards page right now is Bar Cruise Cash (or photo), which has to be used at a bar, so I'd check to see, if that isn't what you wanted.
  12. Well that would be the issue. According to policy, you can't purchase a fishbowl if you have Cheers. That's not to say it doesn't happen, but that is what Carnival says. So, Cheers is a valid player in the game, because if Cheers doesn't apply on the first day, can someone still purchase a fishbowl.
  13. This is the same type of offer, just $50. If you've done those with no complaints, why would this be different?
  14. Maybe I just got lucky this go-around, but everything works fine on my browser. All bookings are there, all Deals are there, search works fine. For a few days, I had the double price on search screen, but that's resolved too. Again to mention, it might help to clear your cookies and cache.
  15. I could probably attribute my awareness of it to Cruise Critic. That doesn't change the fact that prior to wasting countless hours on an internet forum, I wasn't bothered by people who let the door slam. I don't think people are out there tallying the number of people they can anger by dropping a door, I just think they don't realize other people are bothered.
  16. I'm sure there could be a whole debate about this, but most likely people just don't think it's an issue. I can say I've heard doors slam, and I can also say I've never given a thought about it. I'm only conscious of it now because other people seem to be bothered by it, and, since I do like to be considerate, I try to be aware of it and not do it. But I can't say I've ever been bothered by another door slamming. I'd like to think I'm neither deaf, nor a dolt. If you aren't aware it could potentially bother someone, then you aren't aware.
  17. As someone who is married to a vegetarian, I say this with love...Beyond "meat" smells like straight dog food before it is cooked lol. Tastes pretty good though.
  18. Mmm, maybe between 10-10:30a. We got married on the Glory in February, so had priority boarding. We arrived at the port at around 9:30a, then waited in a little room for awhile until the ship was cleared. We were the first to "board."
  19. Or, just click here: https://www.carnival.com/in-room-food-beverages/liquor ...
  20. It can be hard to find sometimes, I usually just Google it and the page should come up. I was able to add a bottle to my cart just now, so I don't think there is a glitch.
  21. I say this with respect and joking aside, let's not forget the Costa Concordia.
  22. Who says he is sleeping at night? He could be snoozing on a chair during the day, like plenty of people do, and go no one would bat an eye. Hang out somewhere different every night, and I think he could go unnoticed pretty easily. This isn't to say I think he is hiding out on the ship though. Lol. I think it's the more obvious answer. But we're all making a lot of assumptions about how we would think to hide out on a ship. There are a lot more possibilities.
  23. I have a short cruising history, and while I love Carnival, and probably have more fun on Carnival, I don't feel loyal to any line. I'm loyal to price! 🤣
