  1. Had a friend recently send in for her family and it was less than a month.
  2. Having done this a few months ago I agree with what's above, they handle it well and we got a book with a signed letter from the captain with the exact spot it was done, unexpected and very nice. We were asked about documents so bring whatever is required and if they want it you have it.
  3. Looks like it's still sitting off the coast so yeah everything will be backed up at least 4 hours today I would assume, that might be a conservative guess, all depends when it can get in. The horizon came in a bit ago I believe.
  4. I've been on ten or so cruises probably ate about that many times in the MDR and post covid it hasn't been great. We had a couple first time cruises in our group last week who wanted to try it out so we went but I'm not in a rush to go back. Brown gravy isn't Au Jus even though carnival seems to think it is.
  5. Prime rib night. Had to give it a shot at least to see if the talk was true.
  6. Did it this past week on a carnival cruise. First off make sure you have every documentation that is required with you.....death certificates cremation records, etc, etc. Have the ashes in the appropriate vessel. When you board go to guest services with your documents and they will set you up. It's only done on sea days anymore as I understood it. You'll agree on a time and we got a letter in our cabin the next day confirming the details so check them over and call/stop in and let them know it all looks good. Day of we met at guest services and security and a gentleman in a white shirt took our group down into parts of the ship the mooring lines are kept/go in and out of. They were doing some maintenance down there but they stopped and left. Another individual met us there and took us to the side of the boat, opened up what I'll call an opening with grates over it up on a ledge that could hold four people or so and it was done. Nice, respectful, well done event. The next day we got a nice signed letter from the captain in a book that had all the important information like date/time/latitude/longitude. Pretty easy to setup and nice follow through by Carnival.
  7. MDR on the celebration last week was pretty awful if you talked to people. We only went once on the last elegant night and its amazing how multiple people can order the same thing and it be so different from plate to plate. Service was good but the food is not great. Pivoting a bit from the original point of this topic but if prices are going up again the food quality better reflect that. Demand is high so they can raise prices right now that's how it works but the food on celebration last week was pretty blah. I dont expect a five star rated meal but there has to be something in the middle.
  8. not worth it on the new ships.....the bar on the outside is ok but the pool is a bathtub basically and cold. Sure the outside seating is nice but not nice enough to get over the area being a total after thought on the new ships.
  9. Same, signed up for the email notifications but never got one email, seven weeks from being sent to back in my hands, no expedite or rushing.
  10. Here is why I cringe when people ask can I make the 1130am flight out of miami the day we get off....sure you can 95% of the timez unfortunately and tragically this is the 5%.
  11. I think center stage was our only mini gripe, as other have said the boat is full but I never felt crowded honestly. Chi bang seemed to be universally disliked by many but there are plenty of food options so it's not an issue. Serenity deck was nice, wish we would have popped up there more than we did. I guess I could add we were in the Havana Cabana rooms and while it was nice to have the patio and relative quiet the Havana area is a monster downgrade overall from the Vista class
  12. If u buy the internet plan just use Facebook messaging or the WhatsApp or something similar, no reason to drop the extra $5 a person
  13. Vista ships Havana is great no matter if you have an inside or outside. Havana on the new ships is a total letdown and a disappointment....you can offset some of the disappointment with a Havana Cabana room, they are nice.
  14. My 13 and 16 year old are pretty simple, they eat at Lido for breakfast, shouldn't be an issue for most at that time. The rest of the day they ate Shaqs and Guys, had pizza around 8 or so and they were good to go. The oldest would go to pig and anchor a few times for brisket. I think the new ships have plenty of decent options, not sure we even tried the street eats even though some things looked decent coming from there.
  15. 1. They asked us in january what time we wanted ours cleaned so that was nice. 2. No they are definitely not cleaning as good as they used to. 3. This was the first cruise our steward never called us/adressed us by name, not even once the entire week and we are pretty easy people to deal with and have no extra requests. 4. If you think they earned more leave more do as you wish.
  16. Agreed the scaled down Pig and anchor breakfast was perfect. Also agree elevators werent a real issue outside of embarkation and getting off to go home.
  17. We were on the same trip, Havana Cabana area. The Havana area is quiet, no doubt about it but it's a step down from Vista Havana areas. One tiny worthless pool that no one got in all week. The outside bar provided great service and the inside Havana area was always rocking at night. Is it worth the money....you decide. From my talking to people Chibang was overwhelming not good, Cucina had it's ups and downs, the MDR was below average at best. Big chicken is a huge hit, its actually really good. Blue Iguana was steady with prior good experiences, Guys was busy but didnt eat it, Lido is actually very visually appealing, it looks nice and I thought the food showed well this trip. Bonsai is worth the money and very good, the pig and anchor was good too, you can make better bbq at home but its vacation. Pig and anchor was a rowdy spot( fun rowdy) when watching NFL games or the college title game last Monday, great bar and folks there who make great drinks. There are four self service pop/soda machines at Lido, one in pig and anchor. At best two of the four machines worked on lido, sometimes only one. You can get 12oz out in one swipe of the card but there is no way all those machines are calibrated the same as the amounts varied....and do yourself a favor and take a quick drink before your pour time runs out, plenty of times it was just water, no pop/soda in it. I did not hit up the street eats places but as mentioned there are options to eat on this boat. Pizza was acceptable and the sandwhich shop next to it was fine too. Fun shop prices are definitely not fun, its cranked up everywhere so keep that in mind. Bolt was fun, worth $15 to give it a shot. Do it on embarkation day, nice picture with Miami in the back or a port day, no guarantees it runs at sea with the wind....I do believe it ran everyday except the last sea day which was very windy. Water slides are great, mini golf and rope course is very good. Pools are naturally chilly right now, hot tubs are plentiful around the ship. Serenity area is really nice, definitely get up there. Kind of a mixed bag with the central stage being, well central like it is, again you decide. The backgrounds and aesthetic carnival uses for shows on this ship are really good. Also the shows are always meh for me. The circus was fine but one performer apparently was injured unfortunately which cancelled all remaining shows. Deal or no Deal was fun, one lady made it to the end with the two highest amounts left so the drama was there. The cards the audience uses actually produced a $300 winner which was great for them. Didnt spend time in the casino, I know two slot pulls happend and with several hundreds of spins at $5 a pop I dont think any bonus was even hit, nothing. Facebook says there was a monster winner on the cruise in the casino but I dont know how or what she was playing. Decks 6 and 7 are cool, do yourself a favor and check out the model ship, the detail is amazing, amazing is probably selling it short. Fun seven days, weather was great except for the above mentioned last sea day. Stops were fine, San Juan seems run down and a bit dirty but they havent had the best luck with things. RC Wonder of the Seas pulled in with us, that's a big lady. Almost forgot service, hit and miss, steward didn't call us by name once the entire week but had good experiences elsewhere. There was a hair tie under the shelves next to our bed, reasonably easy to see that looked like it had been there a bit, Ieft it and it remained all week so is the cleaning good, again you decide.
  18. Hows the ship progressing along with its build???....does anyone have any info, any expected delays? Thank you
