  1. Another one of “those people” heard from. SMH
  2. Incorrect! Always fact check before posting.
  3. Captain just announced we are skipping the planned port stop in Saipan. Too windy.
  4. From another thread (thanks @KSSS2013: The CEO is Gianni Onorato, I would assume his email address is: gianni.onorato@msccruises.com I was able to find this which would be the US Contact.. Chief ExecutiveRichard SassoChairman, MSC Cruises USA6750 N. Andrews AvenueSuite 100Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33309richard.sasso@msccruisesusa.com
  5. I hope that all of this spurs a letter writing barrage to MSC execs. Let the fusillade begin!!
  6. Rewarding bad behavior is never the answer. YC managers need to grow a pair and quit pandering to the interlopers.
  7. We remain very interested in finding a solution for the problem of interlopers. What specific steps are YC guests taking to help YC staff/management identify these people? I understand the crew mindset of not wanting to “upset” their paying customers by enforcing rules but by taking a hands-off approach and turning their heads to this problem, they are alienating their highest paying group of customers.
  8. Tip or don’t tip. Individual choice. No right or wrong answer. No one should allow themself to be tip shamed into participating or not participating. If a given cruise line wishes/insists on total participation in tipping, it will be made mandatory by making tips an integral part of the total fare.
  9. Correct. Absolutely love the design, layout and decor of the space.
  10. We tend to prefer the smaller ships. The Diamond is just the right size for us. Of course, YMMV. It simply doesn’t feel crowded. Part of this is the reduced pax numbers on this cruise but even with a full load, it would still be good. Deck 7 has a completely wrap around Promenade. The newer ships have eliminated this feature in favor of revenue producing spaces. Consequently, we try very hard to completely avoid these newer ships. The food on the Diamond is unquestionably the best we’ve ever had on any Princess ship. The Santa Fe dining room is very nicely designed and appointed. The layout of the ship is very familiar. Feels like coming home. Much of the crew are Japanese. VERY friendly people. Can’t answer your question about the Izumi. We’ve not been there since our embarkation day tour and the area can’t really be seen from deck 14. It can be seen from higher decks but we’ve not gone up there much. Sorry I couldn’t help.
  11. Can’t really answer. All of our meals (inc bkfst) are in the Santa Fe dining room on Deck 6. Sorry I can’t help.
  12. If you can’t contribute something positive, just go away. Bye-bye
  13. RE the Izumi area - yes, 100% pay to use. The stairs up from Deck 14 aft are even chained to close off this entire area the deck above. See Post #7 for pricing. RE specialty coffee - available at Good Sprits on Deck 5. See Post #22 for menu and pricing. Coffee also available in Crooners in the morning we are told. We don’t drink coffee so can’t confirm. RE the IC and 24 hour food - just not available on the Diamond. This is the only shortcoming we are able to identify on the Diamond which is fast becoming our favorite ship. Below are the food opportunities from today’s Patter.
  14. Soft drinks and water can only be brought on board in cans or paper containers. Plastic containers not allowed.
  15. I asked the HW that exact question. He said he did not know about the rest of this cruise but definitely when the ship leaves Yokohama and begins its sailings around Japan.
  16. We decided early on that a month on the water at one whack is plenty! We’re staying in Tokyo for a week afterwards with trips to Hiroshima (bucket list item), Kyoto (again, it’s one of our port stops) during the week before flying home. To our surprise, the menus in the MDR have thus far been absent any Japanese food at all. I asked the HW about it and he said likely not on this cruise but likely during the sailings between Japanese ports.
  17. Maybe that’s what the big magenta line was atop the water that we sailed over!!😇
  18. Out thanks to you for taking the time to share your experiences!
  19. The “follow-me-in gate crashers” are clearly an identifiable problem. The friends/family of crew as @Two Wheels Only described seems to me to be more of a systemic problem and one which is much more difficult to fix. Do YC’ers ever speak with those who attempt to follow them in through the gate and ask them if they are staying in the YC? I realize this degree of confrontation isn’t for everyone but still, I wonder if it happens.
