  1. This gets my vote for the best post of this (and all similar) thread(s)!!!! Spot on, Sir. 🤙🏻
  2. It’s fun, inexpensive and you just make a kid’s day!
  3. Now THAT’S funny. No mention or suggestion of the media dropping their ingrained bias, I see. That point of view itself displays a flagrant bias. Ready, fire, aim!! But enough of this. Media cheerleaders have their place too. Enjoy your cruise.
  4. No, but I certainly was and will continue to be dismissive of the media crowd who opt to sensationalize anything (particularly if cruise related) by employing banner headlines and overly dramatized drivel that serves as little more than click bait. @SargassoPirate put it perfectly……..”But, since the pandemic and cruise ships were all over the news at the start, anything cruiseship related gives the media a chance to sensationalize and exploit the story for clicks and ratings.”
  5. “I would like to schedule specialty dining around those nights.”
  6. If you’re up to it, Kyoto is an easy Shinkansen trip from Shin-Kobe and from Tokyo Station. We visited Kyoto on our port stop in Kobe and returned to Kyoto a second time after docking in Yokohama. EZPZ
  7. My “never leave home with out it” sure fire way to prevent noro. These have been on my cruise packing list beginning the first cruise after my first (and only, to date 🤞🏻) infection. The key, of course, is to use them. And no, I don’t wear them all the time. Only in the buffet. The rest of the time it’s a matter of Washy-Washy. @Vibeguy, what specific hand sanitizer do you feel does the best job?
  8. Please provide details on how this works. The mechanics of the process are not explained on the MSC website. The last time I asked this question, the ridicule went on for several pages.
  9. It appears so. The descriptions and pricing are gone as we’ve already docked in Kobe.
  10. Throughout the cruise I’ve noticed what appeared to be an inordinately large number of first timers on Princess for a 25 day cruise so I asked the Loyalty Manager. Blue - 370 Gold - 233 Red - 146 Platinum - 451 Elite - 428
  11. Pretty certain I’ll run into him again. When I do, I’ll mention it to him.
  12. Happily there has been a change in the photo strategy of Princess. No longer in the dining rooms but set up throughout the public areas of the ship. And not nearly as aggressive as they once were. Nice!
  13. While a low deposit is certainly a good thing, I think you would agree that a low deposit by itself falls far short of the principal benefit of an FCD.
  14. And attempt to sell lots of photos! The actual reason for “formal night”.
  15. Whenever we’ve purchased FCDs on board using the app (EZPZ), an email confirmation has always arrived within the hour. Perfect way to confirm the purchase has “gone through”.
  16. Oh, about the second part of the question. I just this minute walked away from speaking with the Future Cruise Planner here aboard the Diamond. She advises there is NO grace period to purchase an FCD. They can be purchased ONLY while on board.
  17. Such an arrangement is the norm for all current Princess Grand Class ships. Maybe a maintenance issue on your cruise? On this sailing, we’ve seen the Deck 8 part closed only at night and a couple of days when it’s been really windy/rainy.
  18. A bit bumpy but nowhere even approaching “bad”. Captain Ravera offered a very thorough and detailed explanation of the reasons why he decided to skip the port. He even had the courage to invite pax to come visit with him on Deck 6. I really do like this guy!
