  3. Thanks, the next time we go to Bucees, Outdoor World, just might take you up on that. It's not to far to drive for me, just not always worth it unless I combine reasons to go to Birmingham, which I hate to do. When we go up to Indiana to visit my youngest daughter, we go to her local Costco using her card. We just got back a little over a week ago. Man did we ever fill up the car from Costco for the drive back. I also bought my current Drone (DJI Mini 2) from Costco the time before this past visit. Used it in Alaska in May while on the Ovation. We also go the the one near Senoia, GA (I think it is in Peachtree City) where my oldest daughter lives. Unedited: DJI_0287.MP4
  4. Really? That's news to me. I guess all that yelling at my kids to look at me while I talk to them, I was mistaken that they weren't looking at me. As a Retired Sergeant from the Army we had to discipline/train young folks to look at people that are talking to them. Hell, today, no matter what the age, people have their heads in their phones, not looking a people talking to them.
  5. My experience is that it always had an upcharge for lunch and dinner. I believe it was just raised though.
  6. I really really wish we had a Costco closer to us. We have a Sam's within 4 miles of us. But, I like options. Two big box warehouse types would be really great. It would be even better if we also had a BJs close. I'd join them all.
  7. Now I'm questioning myself/my memory. Now I seem to remember that maybe it wasn't a boarding time, it may have been a seating area was assigned after you checked in, in the terminal. The seating assignment was based upon you boarding time or at the arrival time to the check-in desk. It could have been either way, it's just not clear now. Either way, I don't think, again that's means it's my opinion, it is good customer service to have EVERYONE STANDING in a line outside of a perfectly good terminal building, enduring the elements just because of a "Terminal Entry" time. I think they realized during the COVID debacle that it took fewer people to manage the lines outside than to manage the seating, clean-up and movement of people in the terminal. I believe it's about the $$$ not good and compassionate customer service.
  8. Exactly true. However, as I remember it, they still called out the boarding times no matter how late actual boarding was/is. And it was a lot easier/comfortable waiting IN the terminal while waiting. Not out in a line in the heat/cold/rain/sun/bugs/being ADA, etc etc.
  9. Once again I find myself using discretion in my response. I'll only say that people are still getting sick with masks on! That is all
  10. For an example: We usually cruise Royal in Star Class. We save up for a year or two to do that and we book at least a year out, when available. No doubt that when all is said and done, we payed more for our Star Class cruise than someone that paid for the same things, excluding a Star Class suite, ala carte. No doubt. However, we are paying or I should say reserving a booking a year or two out with a price that is less, much less these day, that the price of the cruise on debarkation day. I'm also making interest on the money that I save every month that is going to be used to pay for the cruise 90 days out. Not much interest but every little helps. And for that reason, we don't complain about the cost of a specialty restaurant or the drink package. The up-side, during my cruise, I do what I want, where I want, as often as I want, with everyone in my party and don't have to worry about pinching pennies and not eat that steak or go to the Hibachi, drink more than usual, or whatever. I've already prepaid for it. I also get preferential treatment in so many ways. Many not mentioned in the "Amenities" of the Star Class advertising. Although we do concern ourselves about the cost of eggs, milk, electricity, natural gas, gas, insurance, and just about everything else (we are on a fixed income), we manage to save up to afford a little luxury in our lives every other year or so. However, if inflation keeps going the way it is, we will become those Bottom Feeders. Or not cruise at all. This is not how I planned to go out but it is/was a good run!
  11. Only if you are very loud, rude, throw out false accusations about the attendant and the person that put the towel on the chair, are wearing a thong speedo with a belly that hangs over your waist almost down to your knees, claim to be the most deserving person in the world, and a friend of the captain's and CEO's. Hummmmmm, that's me!
  12. LOL, I'm kinda cheap, especially for something as expensive as hearing aides. I believe my wife does a good job, she will outlast me and she doesn't cost me extra, actually she contributes $$$. LOL On a serious note, I've had civilian doctors tell me that they can help me, for thousands of $$$$. The VA doctors that I've seen for this same issue tell me that I can get hearing aides, for free from the VA, but they wont make any difference for me. I'll go with the VA doctors as they have absolutely NO skin in the game and don't stand to make any money from it the prescription. Coca Cola makes more per case than the VA Doctors do, sorta.
  13. Thanks but I don't do texting with my phone to a Social Media single conversation/contact. No, it has nothing to do with you personally. Just my own policy. Again, thanks, I can do without the info. And I understand.
  14. It is totally and completely my pleasure. No 💩
  15. Yep, just ask me, I'll tell you that I'm a caring, wonderful, nice, handsome, generous, and thoughtful young man! You heard it right hear on the internet, bank on it.
  16. LOL, I have no in-laws left. So, now I"M THE in-law. I make the best of it too. No Costco here. But, my major problem is Tinnitus, bad, and other things that I don't understand and have been told that aides won't help.
  17. That's an understatement, for sure. How many active posters are there in here that actually post opinions/challenge others and so on? I'd say maybe a hundred or less. That's like a gnat on an elephant's a$$. For general consumption: I'm sorry, people need to understand, any comment in an Internet social media site (not just cruise related) is subject to criticism, comment, other opinions, and yes, rude behavior. It is what it is. We all need to put our big boy/girl pants on and move on! And BTW, I don't think challenging comments, posting opinions, presenting facts and/or links to facts is a bad thing. As I've said many times in here, even as a 71 year old, I learn a lot of "stuff" in here, some important, some not. Let's cruise!
  18. If @DirtyDawgdoesn't, I do. I need to see their mouth to hear them. It's kinda like reading lips. My hearing is bad but not the kind of bad that can be aided with hearing aides. So, I rely on seeing the "smiling face", especially in noisy places/situations, to know (hear them) what they are saying. Generally speaking, if I can't see your face, all I hear is moji jsoifjsaj kjsf nmsfojiwe bla bla bla. Seeing a face is also one of the many factors involved in social intercourse. Good or bad. I like seeing the crew's face for many reasons, knowing what they are saying is a big part of it. Especially crews, they are from all over the world and have different degrees of accents which make it even harder to hear/understand the spoken word. Anyone in Law Enforcement will tell you that being able to see someone's face (the whole face) is an important part of their job, being able to decern a lot of factors. My wife is my source of repeating what people say to me in noisy, masked, or heavily accented situations. It can be embarrassing at times especially if what I think was said, wasn't.
