Specialty dining sold out 18 months in advance?
SunshineGal2022 replied to SunshineGal2022's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Thank you everyone! I didn’t mind missing Teppenyaki or the one shore excursion that was sold out, but the kids already had their tshirts designed for breakfast 😂 and they didn’t want to miss it! -
We have a cruise booked for July 2024. It says the Teppenyaki lunch and the Seuss at Sea breakfast are already sold out. Are they really sold out, or is it too early to book? My kids will be very disappointed if we miss the Dr. Seuss breakfast. What are the chances we can get tickets onboard? It’s not too late to choose a different cruise if there really is no option of going.

Lack of Portable/Later-Night Food
SunshineGal2022 replied to RadioPeri's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Completely agree. I have a Carnival cruise booked for next summer and my youngest son is thrilled to be able to grab ice cream or pizza at 11pm and sit on our balcony and eat it under the moonlight. It’s a different vibe than if you eat it at a restaurant with others. I hope NCL offers a late night grab and go section when we go this summer. Heck, I would be happy with bags of pretzels, mini boxes of cereal, pizza slices, cookies, whole fruit, and soft serve ice cream. -
Lack of Portable/Later-Night Food

I love eating crunchy or salty snacks before bed. I would love to be able to grab cereal or pretzels to much on at midnight. I guess ziploc bags it is. I appreciate the idea of ordering several meals at once for the $5 fare. I would love having extra snacks available mid afternoon whenever I want them and not needing to run up to the cafe. -
Fly2Fun Error Unable to book flight for your cruise.

They tell her if Carnival supporting any other airport in Southern CA? San Diego has been surprisingly much cheaper at times than LAX, and I love the efficiency of Ontario. -
Escape Room on Breakaway-'Escape- The Big Top"

Ah! Thank you! Bamboozled is showing up on my Itinerary (Escape in June), but I wasn’t sure what it was. We will make sure to try to do this 🙂 -
NCL Reps with vague answer regarding price drops-----
SunshineGal2022 replied to Jetswdo's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
I think they are redoing several things before spring cruises start . I would guess FAS+ is being redone. Even the “Free at Sea” is changing to “Open Bar.” I had FAS+ in my cart too. I didn’t buy it and now I am sad I didn’t. I am sure the new version will provide us with less options for more money. I had the extra dining in my cart when it was $70 for 2 extra specialty dining meals. I was debating if I wanted to do that and Starbucks or the FAS+ package, which would cover that plus give us Internet. Now the extra dining is $118 for two meals (per person). I hope whatever they create is worth buying. $343/person was even pushing it for us to upgrade, since we hardly drink alcohol. -
NCL Bliss - LIVE - 1/22/23 to 1/27/23

I have a cord organizer bag like yours but I lack a first aid bag. I love this bag. It beats the packing cube my meds usually are jammed into. I assume this is a generic zippered bag from China and probably bought on Amazon. What is the title of the bag if I search for it? Thank you! -
Does it include the Spa Passes if you upgrade? That may make a difference too.

Beverage Package Clarification
SunshineGal2022 replied to Maleficent's Dad's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
I still wish NCL had a non-alcoholic drink package like MSC does. The FAS package would include sodas, mocktails, and juices; the Plus version would add in bottled water, Starbucks, and energy drinks. I think NCL assumes non or lite drinkers will pay the current Plus rate anyways, but it’s hard to justify the $243/person upgrade for a 7 day cruise when you don’t drink much/any alcohol. I would find value in a plan that was priced between the Starbucks upgrade rate and the current FAS+ upgrade rate. I know they read these boards so I hope they listen… -
Escape Room on Breakaway-'Escape- The Big Top"
SunshineGal2022 replied to new2cruising2006's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Is this on all ships yet? (I am hoping the Escape does this too) -
I can see on YouTube videos that there was a stingray excursion offered on GSC. Is it still available? I do not see it on the NCL site so I was hoping someone who has been there in the last year can share if they were offered the excursion, and how much it was. Are there any other excursions focused on animals except swimming with the pigs?

You were able to get 50% back even though you had less than 30 days to your sail date? We have 3 rooms and one is three 18 and under minors who can’t fly alone. It’s a gamble to take the NCL Air but cross country trips have skyrocketed. It’s easier to take the gamble if we could get a refund for part of the fare if we choose not to use the fare to keep everyone together. I thought at the point they assign airfare it was too late for any refund.

20 foot waves would get my stomach rolling. Are many people looking green??

Escape traveling with kids questions
SunshineGal2022 replied to periatza34's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Sign all the kids up on the first day for the kid programs. Even if she doesn’t go back until day 3 or 4, she will be allowed in because you registered her the first day. There is a game room where you can play board games. I think they often show pool side movies at night on the Lido deck. There is the arcade room. I am not sure what other kid friendly night activities there are besides the Kid’s Club. I would think dueling pianos may be okay for all ages. -
I think if you attend the spa tour on the first day, they may offer coupons. There may also be a raffle (?). Worth checking out if you think you may want to go. There’s also the NCL Priority Access pass which gives you a spa discount on port days, but it doesn’t get great reviews.

Coffee machines Escape balcony room

As long as it brews hot water for tea, I will be happy. I wish we could get an electric kettle and tea service pack instead of the coffee set up. -

A couple of changes I noticed on Breakaway last week
SunshineGal2022 replied to Travelicious's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Will they box up the dessert for you if you cannot finish it and you could take it back to your room yourself? Often times I am too full to finish the entire dessert after dinner, but 2-3 hours later things have shifted around enough that I want to eat the rest. I never waste good chocolate! -
I am not sure if this would help. :) https://cruisespotlight.com/compare/carnival-breeze-vs-carnival-radiance/ If you head to Long Beach, the Aquarium of the Pacific is a nice day trip not far from the cruise port. Definitely look at the Seuss at Sea events for your little ones! You can probably grab some Dr.Seuss shirts at Target during Dr.Seuss' bday week.

The consensus is it's better not to use it, but sometimes the money savings are significant enough that it's a good value and good to use. If you have more than 2 people flying, there can be issues if they are all put on the same flight. If you choose to use it, make sure you also add a 1-2 day deviation into your travel plans so you know that your surprise fare will make it on time. This deviation MUST be requested with NCL before 75 days before sailaway date.

Between the seafood only appetizers and the itty bitty sides, Cagney's is now not as appealing as it once was. I hope NCL listens. I can see some cruisers heading to the MDR or the buffet after eating here and still wanting more food.
