Why haven't daily gratuities gone down?
BennyandBo replied to PWP-001's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Why wouldn't be $699 plus the $240 for the automatic gratuities for a party of 2? Your figure is very dramatic. -

"Other hotel services $7.00". LOL. Yeah, the salary Royal Caribbean wants us to pay, so they don't have to. -

No people in the US are not oblivious. We know how waiters and waitresses get paid in different states and the part tips play into it. Stop assuming you are the only one who knows stuff. -

I understand. I just don't give a rats ass. And in my state restaurant workers make $11 an hour plus tips. Way more than others. -

Bad service, to tip in cash directly to those who provided them a service (AKA Old school), or just because they feel like it and that's their choice, not yours. Enough reasons?- 398 replies

Automatic gratuities can be removed for any reason, at anytime, by going to guests services or calling guest services from your cabin. No reason is needed. Anyone can remove them. -
Room service (big order)
BennyandBo replied to CPCruiser4Life's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Think they wanted more than 50. Besides, why $25 when room service is like $7.95. But it is ROOM service. -

They did say "at a really good price". That many orders of wings from playmakers would cost a small fortune. -
Harmony April/29 - where is the royal that I know?
BennyandBo replied to mcatmcat's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Nobody is saying stop. I think people with cut back complaints are saying improve. But like it or not, people will be influenced by bad reviews and reports from others. If the food becomes a running joke like Carnival 20 years ago, it will bite the company in the ass. -
Harmony April/29 - where is the royal that I know?
BennyandBo replied to mcatmcat's topic in Royal Caribbean International
There not happy with the product. More than 50% are first time cruisers. Looking at year old you tube videos with photos of food etc that have been cut. Royal Caribbean is not meeting the expectations of many of these guests. -
Special Needs Response Time
BennyandBo replied to adamtoonarmy's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Oh yes. It's actually on a list of things you can request. Note: medical refrigerator is very small and odd shape. Only big enough for some medication. But there is a full list of things medical and otherwise that you can request. They prefer you do it before you hit 30 days before departure. I made mine at about 45 days. -
Special Needs Response Time
BennyandBo replied to adamtoonarmy's topic in Royal Caribbean International
If it was a request you made I would say 2 to 3 weeks for a person to respond. If it was just a question, them I'm not sure. I would assume the same amount of time. I filled out special needs form for a medical refrigerator, sharps container, etc. 2 to 3 weeks later received a personal response. This was in the past 2 months. -
St Thomas has a taxi website with chart. Just Google it. Know which port your ship is docking at first.

In the app do you have a cabin number and muster station assignment? Open the app and swipe left. If you do have a cabin assignment, re check your edocs. The luggage tags will be the last pages. They each are a full size page. You have to fold them into tags or you can cut them down if you bought luggage tag holders for them from Amazon etc.

There's always people and companies out there with money looking to make more. Wasn't referring to any of the "players" already in the industry. But again, I just have no patience for people who bring up this companies debt as an excuse for cut backs / bad service etc. I've gone belly up and nobody made excuses for me. There debt or any other problems are not mine. They did not ask me about my other financial responsibilities when they took my money. I simply don't want to know about there's. It's not my problem.

If we broke down which airlines went belly up vs consolidated I would win. But I'm not going there with you. You are not the only person who knows a thing or two about this industry. As far as business model. They are becoming Carnival cerca 2005 to 2014. They became a running joke for bad food and service. This will not serve them well.

And look how well that works for them. Is there even one the government hasn't bailed out? And the list of them that have gone out of business in the past 20 years is endless. Maybe not wise for Royal to follow that path. Just charge more upfront and give people the food and quality they expect. People are paying $4999.99 for a cabana over the water for the day! Up the price per person $500 to $1000 for every sailing. Won't put them any different then Disney or Celebrity. Air travel is nothing but unhappy hostile people who get arrested in fights weekly. Not the best business model to follow.
