I'm on this cruise too. The email says, "Given recent guest feedback, and to accommodate certain circumstances". I've never been to Tortola, was there negative feedback about that port?

Earlier in this thread I already commented about the bar for the Bliss last May. I will also add that the two times we used the pool and the hot tub in the courtyard, nobody else was in it or even around. There were usually a couple of people in the hot tubs on the sundeck. We only had to wait for a table in the restaurant once, and that was only for about 5 minutes, while they seated the people in line ahead of us. There were more people in the lounge and observation deck than the pool area and sundeck, but we never had trouble finding a place to sit. It never felt crowded.

We ate lunch at the American Diner last year, when it was still free for Haven guests. I will just say that after eating at the Haven restaurant, I wouldn't have done the American Diner again, even if it was still a perk for the Haven. The Haven restaurant lunches are great. Better than the dinners, IMO.

We were on the Bliss in the Haven last May. Sometimes the bar was crowded, sometimes not. But if we set up somewhere outside the lounge area, our favorite bar waiter Mario always found us. 🙂

We were on 18 last year and didn't hear anything. We were in 18706, which was an awesome location. Walk out and go right to the observation lounge, left to the restaurant, or straight down the stairs to the pool and bar.

On our last cruise I had a voucher with a small amount to cash out at the casino. Guess what they paid me with?

I would agree with everyone else and say in this instance, choose based on itinerary. Last year we went on the Bliss, because it stopped in Sitka, where we have family.

Echoing what the Bird said. We were in the Haven on the Bliss last May. We had checked bags, and even with the time finding them after disembarkation we were at SeaTac by 8:30.

On our cruise last year, husband would generally order two, and the server would insist on bringing him three. To be fair, they are quite small.

I don't believe so. I think it ended in January.

I just said that exact thing to my husband. And I don't order lobster, either!

Wow, bummer about the lobster tails! My husband will be disappointed. He would generally ask for two, and more often than not the server would be the one to say, "you need three!"

I'm on the Breakaway May 12-19, and the only reservations I can book are for either 6 or 8 people, for all three dining rooms.

On a related note, my favorite local pizza joint replaced their lovely battered mozzarella sticks with gross breaded mozzarella triangle things.

They are mistaken. Coke Zero is gross. Whenever I am offered that as an alternative to Diet Coke, I just get water.

I also requested a couple of lunch dishes for dinner last year on the Bliss. It was never a problem as long as I let them know ahead of time. I also asked if I could have the raviolo with some sautéed shrimp on the side (since they have the shrimp as an option for the caesar salad, I figured it would be doable). The next night we went to dinner and they actually made me a special raviolo with the shrimp INSIDE of it! I think that's the moment I fell hopelessly in love with the Haven.

My fault for assuming. We never did get an upgrade bid email or were able look at any of bid options in the Room Upgrades section of the app, so I assumed it was because we booked through USAA.

My son mailed in his renewal application in mid-January, and his new passport arrived on Friday.

We did ours last year through USAA, and we couldn't bid either.

I'm pretty sure my husband ate two to three lobster tails every night. Sometimes with a steak, sometimes without. When I booked our cruise for this year, one of the first things he said was, "oh, I just remembered about the lobster tails!" 😄

Great post @MadisonBay! I appreciate your comparisons to other cruise lines. And your comments about Gian made me smile; he was our concierge on the Bliss last year and he was awesome!

Following! Our second NCL cruise will be in May on the Breakaway. Our first was last year on the Bliss.

That is effing ridiculous.
