  1. Families, language and Mr Applseed are all worthy of celebration. Pass on the food & drink. Have been to Freeport right after the Restart. The history days are indeed remarkable - I would love to go all the way around the 🌎 Weather was chilly 34° and foggy here in St John, NB. I think there's ice in the river.
  2. Today's FunTimes. Oops - you gotta kinda lean over to read the front/back, but it's good for you, lol!
  3. Good chilly morning, St John! No wonder I thought it was cold earlier - it IS cold!!🥴 And it's foggy. Definitely a working port.
  4. Good morning, almost St John! It's cold out there!! No plans today as I've got some work to do, so there are HOHO seats with our names on them. We used the credit from yesterday's canceled boat tour + $20 so not a bad deal to bum around at our leisure.
  5. Hey @cruises42 here are a few of the details I mentioned. And that pesky hook.🙄
  6. We open ours from time we board until they kick us out on last day. 🫣 It always irked me, too, to come in to curtains drawn late day until I remembered to ask Cabin Steward to please leave them open. They mostly remember.
  7. Haven't been in the small non-smoking casino. The large casino is very smoky. The glass walls that were added to contain the smoke help to a degree, but the smoke is so strong as it gets pulled through the ventilation system it smells like someone is smoking near the area around the deck 7 mid elevators. You can go up to 5 or down to 2, walk to forward or aft elevator, then to the level you want.
  8. Here are a couple; I'll do more at the end before we leave. Biggest challenge is the closet - only 3, 1 of which has drawers, the left side hard to get in/out of due to proximity to bed. The middle drawer is unusable b/c it sticks so badly it won't pull out & the top shelf in center closet is broken/missing so you build a mountain on the top one that is there. The tables do not have a drawer or shelf, so there's just a space to pile things in there. There's a small ledge between wall & beds that is good for small items like glasses. Storage space under desk & under window. One other thing to mention is there is a random hook sticking out of the wall under the TV near the deck door. I think it was meant to hold a curtain tie, but is on the wrong wall. It will grab you as you go between the bed & TV if you're not careful. If the bed is pushed together as a single there should be a tad more clearance - beds are separated for us. View out deck door is completely blocked for person on left side of the bed - we just close the curtain in the closet - voila - full view! 2 windows & 1 door for great views. The star of the show, of course, is the balcony! Power: 1 USB & C on each side of the bed (no electrical outlet), 1 USB & C + 1 110v & 1 220v at desk. We brought a cube & a strip (no surge protector) to have extra outlets. All walls except wood at desk by mirror & padded wall behind are magnetic INCLUDING both sides of the door. (Picture of hooks is a couple doors down.) The door is inside a vestibule so you have your own private entry not in the hallway.
  9. Correct on cancelation charge, but you can reschedule w/o charge. Yes, the menu is the same every meal. And fabulous every time!
  10. Teppanyaki does lunch on Venezia - same menu as dinner, $5 less.
  11. Thanks for saying that - I get it, too. Just know there's so much I'm going to see that DH would like to see (he's not on this trip).
  12. Anxiously awaiting your comments & pictures of the Azores - hear it's lovely.
  13. Me too - so excited to go. No phones allowed is kinda a bummer.
  14. Bye Bye Portland! Beautiful weather; although a bit windy. The boat portion of our excursion got canceled, but we still toured Kennebunkport, which is lovely. See ya later NCL Sky.
  15. See - ship laps, that's glamorous 🤭 and congrats!! I aspire to that.
  16. Here are the other pictures showing both the inside and outside of our cabin door is magnetic. I believe it depends on where you're located - we're aft.
  17. We are aft on Venezia - magnets work on both inside and outside on the door. Pirates hanging a couple doors down from us on outside from magnetic hooks. I posted some from inside & outside, but can't find them. I'll take new ones when I get back to the cabin.
  18. Me neither, I've just worn my sandals & been fine. I think the honed tile instead of polished tile makes a huge difference.
  19. Well, first, thanks for the concern 😊 I'd like to say it's something as fun as morning room service coffee, but not that glamorous - I am working most days, so not not a full vacation. And I am so used to getting up early, I don't know how not to.🫣 I planned on working from my glorious aft wrap balcony, but Mother Nature surely had other plans. Makes for nice pictures, though, right?
  20. Yes, they are very small. I think the originally intended passengers likely had different pool preferences than the current US passengers.
  21. Food Servers have a hard job & do important work. I'll pass on the meal & drinks. Not been to NZ. Pretty morning in Portland ME, tad windy. Weather at home still in 90s. Prayers and positive thoughts for all of you, your family members and those important to you. Safe travels to those away from home.
  22. We have a small bit of time before our Kennebunkport tour to explore the port. Stopping by the cabin before we head out. Ship time is an hour ahead of local time, so that's confusing - I hope I don't screw up.🫣
  23. Our orders: oatmeal, banana 🍌 vanilla Danish & crispy bacon; egg hard fried, ham, crispy bacon 🥓 chocolate muffin & vanilla Danish. Grapefruit OJ blend & coffee. Server refilled the coffee w/decaf - I wasn't drinking decaf, but guess I am now.
