  1. Yuk. Just yuk. Not yuk you, Florida_gal_50, yuk the slimy little creatures.🫣
  2. My sister who is my cabin mate for this cruise, keeps her Yeti mug filled full all day, every day with ice and any room left is Diet Coke. I don't know which is more important - the ice or the soda, lol. We usually get a 2nd bucket and ask for ice 2x day. So I guess we'll be coming to get yours @Purvis1231 🥸 plastic zip bags I think will be a good solution. Now to research if this is a Coke line or Pepsi, she gets grumpy when it's the blue one. And those are not as easy to pack as zip bags.
  3. Or in the hallway, lol. Good idea - we will definitely bring zip bags, they won't take up any room so if we don't need them, no big deal.
  4. It does have 1 port difference than the 6 day, but even the ports that are repeated are gorgeous with plenty to do. I'm sure if she's happy in the Caribbean for 15 days, then you'll be happy, 😆 Of course, if getting ice in the cabin becomes an issue, I may regret it.
  5. DH and I have said numerous times that open balconies on Carnival will be a thing of the past. They'll put plexiglass or something up to seal off every opening so you can still the enjoy the views but can't "fall" off. Talk about cruising in a bubble...
  6. Wow - really has changed. We were on Carnival right at Covid restart and I just don't recall things being that different. Of course, there were very few passengers as the ship was less than half full, but the menu charges and availability in Lido didn't seem much different than before. Should be interesting.
  7. Maybe, if so, congrats!!. Certainly several different experiences reported - ranging from no ice, to no ice buckets, to no issues.
  8. I read the ice issue was specific to Venezia because of the lack of, or limited number of, ice machines that were on it when it transferred over to Carnival; they were being installed as part of the dry dock refurb and were either not in place yet or didn't work properly. If I can call early AM for pre-breakfast coffee so long as there's not a huge delay in getting it - kinda defeats the purpose of ordering night before and rolling out of bed to receive it from room service delivery person if I have to actually wake up and be coherent, lol. 🤭If that's what I have to do to protect it from the "charming little rugrats" 🥴 then so be it. Where are the Hall Monitors when you need them. I miss HAL already...😪
  9. Don't have the original post to share, but someone on the "maiden" (quotes due to it not really being the maiden voyage given Venezia previously sailed under another brand) TA cruise, posted this picture of ice being delivered in plastic bags left on trays in the hallway (liked a dirty room service tray waiting for pick-up). So long as the bags are sealed, I can live with this if it's the answer, but it's not my preferred way to get ice. And yes I need my ice. @phoneman69 reports not being able to get ice delivered - with or without a bucket. Can anyone definitively confirm the State of Ice on Venezia? Picture was June 7.
  10. Great pair - give me your candied bacon and you can have my shrimp & salmon. Win Win!!
  11. Thanks (I think) 🙄 @ray98 for sharing the menu - there certainly are VERY few items that don't cost extra. I'd read that, but seeing the menu really highlights the changes and additional costs I need to prepare for. Times do change. Ugh...
  12. Hi - can anyone confirm definitively that needing a paper boarding pass as @shof515reported has been rectified? Will be B2B in Sept on Venezia out of NY and need to be prepared. Goodness knows I won't be looking to stand in yet another special line to print one out.
  13. Anything that gets me eating more bacon 🥓 (well cooked, not soggy) is a win. 😊🤗🥳 just skip the pickle and 🍋
  14. For sure!! And when you get enough (undisclosed quantity) credits, they convert to OBC with no expiration date. 🤭🙄
  15. Great info! The link was, of course, specific to that deck on that ship. When I tried to get to what I wanted on another ship, shows to be for TAs only. Do you have another link for the "public" or can you send me the one for Venezia deck 7?
  16. As some have said, it's usually best to book a guarantee only if you're willing to accept the worst possible cabin in your category. That way, if that's where you end up, you're not disappointed and if you get the best one, you're ecstatic.
  17. Correct - If you want to get the lower rate you saw when you added them to your cart, you'll have to pay that by time final payment is due and cannot use OBC to pay it. If you remove it and pay w/OBC onboard, the rate will be at the higher current rate. So, no, you cannot have it both ways. And if you have them removed then decide you do want to pre-pay and add them back, they'll be at the higher rate.
  18. Perhaps someone currently on a cruise can share the room service menu so we can see.
  19. Correct. Safe travels and enjoy your cruise! Curious where FIL plans on sleeping as he seems to be the odd one out. I just flashed on him crashed on a lounger at 2am, lol.
  20. Carnival made a change to liquor pre-sale program a few months back. They gave passengers a hard date to pre-purchase after which time the option would be to buy onboard from a pared down list. Not sure if your brands made the cut. Might be worth asking current passengers if those are available on the room service menu. I don't see either on Carnival website: https://www.carnival.com/in-room-food-beverages/liquor
