Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Which room categories on R ships have bathtubs? Thank you.
  2. The port fees with Atlas are $50 per person, per day, no matter the itinerary. When I look at pricing for any cruise, I add the extra taxes/fees, and look at the bottom line. I don't care how a cruise line breaks down the fare, it's the final total that counts.
  3. Bottom line with Atlas website pricing, the right column is the price per person, including all promos, plus the port fees that are listed at the bottom of the grid.
  4. It looks like Great Stirrup Cay does not open until Oct 17.
  5. Oceania, like all cruise lines, have limitations when changing an itinerary due to weather. 1. They can only cover so many miles. This is one reason why we are going to Nassau. Other Caribbean islands are too far from NYC for a 7-day cruise. 2. They must visit a foreign port. 3. There must be dock space. Given these parameters, Nassau was likely the only option.
  6. Current itinerary is arrive Nassau Sept 16 in the morning and depart Sept 17 at 6:00PM. You are correct. Cruise ships must visit at least one foreign port. Also correct that Grand Turk is further than Nassau by 250 miles. I'm no fan of Nassau but it's likely that Oceania had no choice.
  7. Mechanical issues are within the control of the cruise line, to some extent. Weather is not.
  8. We are on the Sept. 13 Insignia cruise, Bermuda Bliss, now going to Nassau. I do not understand why some people on this cruise are angry. I can understand disappointment but their anger is ridiculous. All cruise lines deviate itineraries due to weather. The passenger contract is clear with regard to itinerary changes. I always enjoy meeting people on an Oceania cruise. And, I always avoid the complainers. Who needs such negativity? Life is short. Enjoy the moment.
  9. For cruises that departed yesterday from FL, itinerary changes were announced, in most cases, the day before the cruise began. I'm also on the Sept 13 voyage. The storm's path still has serval possibilities, most of which would seem to limit our options.
  10. Vista currently has Starlink. Do any other O ships currently have Starlink?
  11. Look for Allura itins Sept. 12. That's according to an Oceania Club Ambassador.
  12. Allura itineraries to be released Sept. 13. 2025 through part of 2027 itineraries for all ships to be released Oct. 4.
  13. For those O Club members who receive a spa credit, read the fine print on the card left in your stateroom. These credits can no longer be used on any spa promo such as port day specials. Also, the certificate will not cover the gratuity. This new policy was implemented about a month ago. And, the fine print is very, very, small.
  14. I know that Oceania is in the process of moving to Starlink. In the meantime, I'll be on Marina this summer. I'm interested in learning from those who have used Google Voice onboard for making phone calls. Has that worked well for you? Thank you.
  15. Here's the onboard credit info with Simply More. This is less than what OLife offers. For example, a 10-day cruise under OLife comes with 6 excursions per stateroom, each up to $199. 7-9 Days: $600 Per Stateroom 10-13 Days: $800 Per Stateroom 14-18 Days: $1,000 Per Stateroom 19-24 Days: $1,200 Per Stateroom 25-30 Days: $1,400 Per Stateroom 31-35 Days: $1,600 Per Stateroom
