  1. Yes, of course I see MY final pay date in my booking confirmation! What makes me curious is all the talk about 120 days from other sources. For example the enclosed screenshot from the European NCL page (or at least the one I always get directed to). Googling NCL Final Pay hasn't given me anything except the 120 days. Hence my curiosity! It's just curiosity, not in any way a worry about my own bookings where everything is perfectly clear! Good thing I'm not a cat...
  2. This is (sort of) interesting (at least to a curious person like me)! We now have 70 and 30 days apart from the 120 days. Go figure...
  3. So it's 120 days for UK guests?
  4. This isn't really a problem at all, just me being curious: All NCL documentation I can find about Final pay states 120 days for most cruises, and I also see those 120 days mentioned here in different posts. HOWEVER, on "all" (there's just 3...) my booked cruises final pay has been 30 days before cruise. Cruises booked well in advance (more than 120 days). I'm absolutely not complaining but, as I said, curious. I suspect it's because I'm European (Swedish). Odd though that the FAQ on "our" NCL site still says 120 days as far as what I could find. Other Europeans get the same 30 days? (And yes, this IS an international forum. NOT a US forum. Just mention that since a poster claimed otherwise recently!)
  5. I am not at all familiar with Trieste, but what everyone else says about timing sounds right to me. I would never book an 11 am flight unless the airport was ver easy to get to from the port I just wanted to comment on the staying in hotel part: I am a solo female traveler in my sixties. I have traveled quite a lot in "iffy" places but very rarely have I felt unsafe in hotels/motels. I try to find places with airport shuttles instead of taking taxis. Usually works out really well! You're not saying where this overnight stay would be, but if it's 12 hours it can't be at "unsafe" times at both ends! If it's very early in the morning It can't be that late at night and vice versa!
  6. My daughter gets on that ship when it's turning around. It would be great if you could let us know the situation!
  7. They opened it when we came to Hubbard a couple of weeks ago. Don't remember what deck access was though. Correcting myself: what was opened up was a small front-facing observation area. Not the actual bow. My recollection (that may very well be wrong!) says around deck 12-13
  8. Yes, this absolutely makes total sense!
  9. You could (as described in the post above), but personally I would rather do the full trip and go to an airport hotel in Philly to get some rest if needed.
  10. I am 100% sure I never got an email with my bill from my cruise a few weeks ago even though I had registered for one. And yes I have checked spam folder! I did however check the account on the last evening and it looked fine and it was the right amount that was taken from my credit card so I didn't bother trying to find my bill. I do find it very odd that it's not in Cruise history or My account though!
  11. Would that be 10% of list price (usually around $12)? (Rome to Venice, I think all EU. I'm not going on this cruise myself)
  12. There is quite a lot of reading here but I really didn't find an answer. My question is not really about alcohol or whether or not alcohol is served in ports. Nor is it about tax on alcohol in UK. Also, it's not about Spain. These topics I've read up on. I'm asking about the claim that 10% VAT is added to all purchases on Mediterranean cruises. Maybe someone on a Mediterranean cruise at the moment can confirm or deny? Drinks on drinks packages?
  13. I stumbled upon a post on Facebook that claims that there is a 10% VAT added on everything on Mediterranean cruises. I trust this place a lot more than random FB posts, so I thought I'd better ask here about it. (Google only give me results that are several years old)
  14. Really? So how come I'm here, linked from the UK address?
  15. I booked a British Isles cruise in Otober (Star) instead of the Canary islands one in February. It was pretty much the only one I could fit in with my schedule, but I think it's a very good choice for me and I'm excited to be able to return to Edinburgh and Inverness that I visited oh so many years ago. And to get a glimpse of other places that intrigue me. I kept my Lisbon return air ticket (from Sweden). Just changed the return date (10 Euro so no big deal) to make a 4 day visit in Lisbon since my daughter insists I'll love it there and should have done that in connection with the cruise anyway. Both the Lisbon ticket and tickets to London were cheap(ish), so I'm happy!
  16. As for transportation, there is of course the option of public transport. I haven't traveled there by cruise ship but according to Google Maps the regular bus stop is only about 500 meters from the terminal. I'm saying this fully aware that it's not an option for everyone but maybe for some.
  17. Possibly it doesn't show up in that particular search because it's in February? Shows up for me. And it also showd up at the suggested web page. So it does look like a useful site!
  18. I sailed Spirit May 10-17 in an inside cabin. I spent a lot of time in Spice H2O (deck 11), The great outdoors and Garden Café outdoor area (deck 12). When I wanted to be indoors for a while Spinnacker lounge was nice.
  19. If you booked in the last few days your FreeAtSea should have been half price, 99 each.
  20. From what I saw a couple of weeks ago: Yes you get picked up at the "Terminal". IF for some reason your not, you should not need to pay for the shuttle though. Wether or not you can get dropped off somewhere else is probably at the discretion of the excursion tour driver. I would be surprised if it would be a problem though. Having said that, I didn't actually take part in anything in Valdez. I didn't have anything booked and weather wasn't good so I stayed onboard and had a nice relaxing day watching hat went on outside.
  21. I really don't know anything about this. But my gut feeling is that It would be better to make that other person in your Company the "first guest". Maybe canceling a "second guest" is better less bad than canceling "first"? As I said I really don't know, this is just a thought.
  22. I managed to find an email address to a cruise consultant that turned out to be very helpful. He couldn't apply the 20% now, but assures me that he can do it when it comes in. So I let him make the booking. (10 days British Isles in October. Pretty much the only one I could find that works with my "life schedule" and budget. And it also sounds nice!)
  23. Thanks for the info! Please com back if you manage to get it done! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
  24. Unfortunately I don't see mine there yet. I'm just off the phone with NCL and the person I spoke to had no clue and with the horrible sound quality I felt it useless to try to get anywhere. I guess I'll just have to wait and likely miss out on the half-price FreeAtSea off that ends Wednesday (European guests actually buy the FAS with gratuities included instead of getting it for free and pay gratuities)
