  1. I contacted my PCC and asked what he could do price-wise to get me room upgrade on a cruise that at the time was a few weeks away. What he came back with was good enough for me. Much lower than if I had made a bid in the "upgrade auction".
  2. OF COURSE they should have handled your refund better. Much better! But has been mentioned there is also the option of selling them in a Facebook group or elsewhere. It seems to me that Demand is higher than supply!
  3. Those notes are for firsta day embarkation and last day disembark. Not for port days. Usually it's 30 minutes before sail-off to be onboard.
  4. Online chat is perfect for this and other things if you (like me) don't want to call. I don't think it's in the app, but on the web site.
  5. I have made a bookmark at the promo Terms ans Conditions page. That way I can see current promos. Edit: Never mind! I see you use something similar. That page does change according to current promos in other areas though.
  6. Oh, just notices it's October 2024! I hope that means we¨re good this year!
  7. Wow! Well, if I had booked the original cruise it would have been to see Ireland. Actually, I HAVE booked a cruise to see at least alittle bit of Ireland in October. The only Ireland tender port on that cruise is Dublin, so I hope we won't have a change similar to this! Getting a little nervous though!
  8. Well, I know that NOW! But back then I thought I had to spend the "free money! onboard. And I don't spend money onboard! Excpet that time when I needed to upgrade Internet. If I hadn't had that need I would have spent it things I really didn't want or need. Yes, I would have been wrong, but they really don't make this very clear when just reading about it. I doubt I'm the only one that has misunderstood this at some point when new to cruising and onboard accounts and what have you. Why not just make it super-easy? "This voucher is worth 250 but you pay 125". Because that is what it is!
  9. Could not agree more! When I bought my first one I wasn't aware that the OBC actually counted towards the CN purchase price. I thought I had to use it for something onboard. Fortunately that was my plan all along (needed an Internet upgrade) so no harm done. But still I felt a little foolish. I know better now. 😉
  10. True, but the "hardware" as far as views go should be about the same, shouldn't it?
  11. Old thread, but probably about the same even after refurb. https://boards.cruisecritic.com.au/topic/2214941-gem-cabin-8086
  12. I have to agree with @JandC_Cruising I have applied CN to existing bookings. Both through my PCC and also done it myself online.
  13. Oh dear! And here I thought one every day for a week or two was bad!
  14. LOL! So I'm not the only one. Maybe you and I can share a table and not have a conversation. 😄
  15. In teppanyaki, absolutely possible/likely! Even when marked sold out there often are single seats available around the 8 (?) seat table since bookings only is in even numbers!
  16. That is a really good point!
  17. I am in no way at all claiming to be representative of... well anything really... But here's my thoughts: I am not particularly interested in chatting before a cruise. I have joined roll calls though in the hope of maybe getting useful information/inspiration. I have found some good info both in roll calls and the general forum and for that I am grateful! I am a solo traveller, but I'm perfectly happy being solo. I cruise to relax, read books and experience nature/places/culture. Not to meet people. (Having said that, I have to say that there are so many nice people out there, but a small chat waiting for the elevator or whatever is enough for me. Thank heavens most people are more sociable than I am!) Meeting the officers? Nah, no interest whatsoever!
  18. No I haven't. So I'm just guessing with Place de Concorde
  19. It's probably the sailing out time and you should be on board at least 2 hours before that according to their terms. There should be no problem getting food.
  20. IF they drop you off att Place de la Concorde it's about 2,4 km (1,5 mile) according to Google Maps
  21. It makes absolutely no sense at all! Daughter had a theory that maybe Spain wants less tourists and Italy wants more. Doesn't make much sense either since many cruises visit both countries. Maybe it's just a random roll of the dice...
  22. I have to agree that it's way too little time in Paris, especially considering all the time spent on the coach. I said in my previous post that the Louvre at least is probably close, but then the Louvre needs a couple of hours and that's about all you'll get. If you just got dropped down in Paris and had three hours, ok, you could dip your toes and plan to return at some other point. But to travel about 3 hours each way to get 3 hours in Paris... I wouldn't do it!
  23. Oh yeah! Lots of "this page took a vacation". I'm trying to make a payment, but I guess I'll just keep my money a little longer.
