  1. I think that was more of a hope than a prediction. Pfizer and Biotech are only in the monkey testing stages. AstraZeneca study is on hold in UK , while they study one of the trial subjects getting an unexplained illness.

Just get your flu shot, wash your hands (and face), wear a mask and don't let anyone breath on you inside 2 meters.

Oh yeah I will be getting the flu shot. Will never go again without one. Got the flu so bad in 2019 it knocked me on my butt for over a week.

  2. Listen I'm all for vaccines, I'm not an anti vaccer in the least. I've been saying got months I'll trade this the minute it comes out but when the government announces "get ready for the vaccine November 2nd", just two days before the election I get very skeptical. I have to say very, very skeptical.

  3. The Oxford coronavirus vaccine trial is facing a "challenge", the health secretary has admitted, after it was put on hold due to a suspected serious adverse reaction in one of its volunteers.
Researchers have paused the trial while they investigate the reaction in one of the participants in the UK, it was announced on Tuesday night.
I'm not gonna go crazy here just yet and freak out. Could just be a small setback and the fact it's just one person might mean it's an isolated incident. Let's wait and see what happens here.

  4. For cruising this might be one of the worst casualties, enforcing boarding times or port arrival times. I mean we would do our online check in the minute it came available to do 90 days before the cruise and we still would only get an arrival time of 12-1 or something like that. We would ignore and get there at 10AM but looks like you won't be able to do that anymore.
Now, we sail out of Cape Liberty, really only because I have a serious fear of flying, like crippling fear of flying. If we were to drive I would still get there early to park in the parking deck and then wait till close to our time. I don't think we will be driving and parking at Cape Liberty though anymore because I think the price went up to 25 bucks a day from 20. We can always be dropped off by a friend or family member.

  5. IF my enchantment cruise goes forth in November, I have a question about boarding. This cruise leaves out of San Juan. I purchased the Key. When I filled out all of the check in information, I reached the section where you choose your online boarding time.  The earliest was 230pm. I was surprised because I thought the key lunch was from 1130 to 130pm. I am assuming that perhaps the new boarding times to give cabins time to be cleaned/sanitized were moved. In precovid days has anyone seen such late times for check-in for the Key? San Juan cruises usually leave at 830pm and there were a lot of selections every 30 minutes starting at 230 and ending at 6pm.
Wow good questions. With the key you should not have to board that late in the day.

  6. What is your favorite cruise port and why is it your favorite ?
Cape liberty but I don't fly so we sail from NJ or NY and it's NJ 99% of the time. Cape Liberty is very efficient, and nice since they built the new terminal. We are only 30 minutes south of the port too.
We did sail NCL out of Manhattan a few years ago and hated it. Too hectic, too small for these big ships and going into the city is a pain. Debarkation was a disaster too. Employees of the port were flat out yelling at passengers and it was very uncomfortable.

  7. This is excellent news and the only thing at the point I'll counting on. The actual drug makers.

  8. I was turned off by Jamie’s menus it seemed like all pasta dishes but the 30% discount I was offered on board. persuaded me to try it. I’m glad I did because I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the lamb cops and they were excellent. We were looking forward to Wonderland and weren’t impressed so you just never know until you try it.
That is so funny about Wonderland because I really didn't want to try at all. Just seemed gimmicky and not appealing to me but we got a great deal on a 3 night dining package so we booked it for the first night and was pleasantly surprised by that. We had so much fun and the food was good, different and interesting. We liked it so much we were gonna do it again when we sailed Anthem. It was just a nice memory for the start of that cruise. Like you said you never what you are gonna like and who will like what.
Next cruise is Oasis so no Wonderland but plenty of other places. Definitely getting the 3 night dining package. We like to mix up cruises with specialty and MDR. Definitely would not pay for us to get the ultimate dining package.

  9. I agree that there is a particularly nice windjammer on that ship— I don’t expect it to be there when it comes back to service (at least in that capacity). I think buffets are done with.
What exactly was the issue with Jamie’s? Why didn’t you like it?

I'd like to know as well better Jamie's is incredible. I was stuffed when I left there and everything was delicious. I'm surprised to hear it described as "awful".

  10. It is possible and I would say likely that in the future this does just become just "another virus". Ya never know what is around the corner that could and hopefully knock this down to nothing where you prescribed something and it doesn't kill anyone or a miniscule number of deaths.

Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

  11. Well a good effective and safe vaccine will definitely help. Anything that knocks the mortality rate down especially for those at risk will really help get past this. I read about a widely available steroid that might be just that. We can get the death rate down to near zero this will pass and become just another virus.

  12. Thanks i'll keep that in mind.

I could probably take NJT to Hoboken, that's an easy ride for me and take an uber from there, what could that cost? $20.00?

As a solo traveler i don't enjoy the economies of multiples pax

    Thanks

Yeah, transit is very convenient. We are only 30 minutes south of the port and we usually get dropped off by our in-laws. Only parked once. Next August we are supposed to be on Oasis [emoji1696][emoji120] and we will be dropped off again. Why spend an 140 extra bucks.

  13. No, but i go on extended cruises and i think it's gonna add up price wise to park. If there is an easy public transit i find it more relaxing than driving in.
What is per day parking at Cape Liberty if you know? Any discounts avail?
It's only 20 bucks a day. We did it on our last cruise, very reasonable and car is very safe.

  14. On FB someone posted that their FCC was extended an extra year . I went to my Princess account and lo and behold the changed the expiry date by a full year . Very happy that Princess did the right thing without begging and pleading on my part .[emoji16]
