Cute...and a great idea...but we since we live in Florida, you and I have a free sauna anytime we walk outside right now. [emoji1]

We don't have a bathtub...have the now larger shower getting all tiled and set up for possible ADA needs and fixtures.  Which I hope won't be needed for a long awhile...but preparing for future needs.

We sold the big house on the water, with the boats, docks, pool, jacuzzi, tropical landscaping, equaling way too much to take care of when we traveled.

And that's why I'd like to move to Florida, lucky you. I want to walk outside of my house on Christmas day and it's 75 degrees. [emoji1787] I hate winter in NJ more and more every year and winter isn't nearly as bad it was when I was a kid.

  2. My wife is on her second kidney transplant and all is really good but she got the jackpot on getting a deceased donor match.  Because of the waiting time we have been told they don't list people over 70.  So we don't want to screw this one up.
I understand, I hope all works out for you.

What I want to know is if this safe for transplant patients who are on immunosupressant drugs.  Having an immune system rear up can cause RA for some and possible organ rejections for others.
Oh geeze I never even thought of that nor am I smart enough to know the answer but I hope so. Let's see as more info, more tests, more trials go on.

So sad that the United States now has travel bans against it by most of the civilized world, seen as a global health threat like some third world country. We used to be the leader in health.

In a more positive note, excellent news coming out of Oxford today.  They released their results from their phase 1 trials. Not only were they able to produce double immunity and T-cells, rare for a vaccine, it happened in almost all of the 1077 people trialed.  It is also looking like it is safe based on similar vaccines that have been around for years.

Next up, the trial with 30,000 people to see if this immune response actually prevents people from getting Covid-19.

However, the predictions that is will be available by the end of the year are overblown.  The difficulty in manufacturing a biologic large scale will come into play.  However, I am now more hopeful that our August 2021 cruise will be a go.  As long as we are not still banned from ports.

Here is the story the Oxford University vaccine. Sounds really promising.

Oxford coronavirus vaccine induces strong immune response, early trial results suggest

A coronavirus vaccine being developed by the University of Oxford and AstraZeneca is safe and shows signs of inducing an immune response, according to early clinical trial results published Monday in the medical journal The Lancet.

The trial did not look at whether the vaccine prevents coronavirus infection, however. That's a question that will be answered in trials that are currently ongoing.

The trial results found that it generated two "strong" immune responses: the production of both antibodies and T cells, which find and attack virus cells.

"We’re getting both sides of the immune system stimulated and that is fairly unusual for vaccines," Adrian Hill, director of the Jenner Institute at Oxford University, told NBC News.

The T cell response was noted within 14 days of receiving the vaccine. This immune response was detected for at least 56 days after getting the shot, though it's unclear how long it will last.

If that's the case, their $250 mil investment in a Perfect Day at CocoCay is not looking so "perfect".
It was looking genius, it was a huge money maker. Many people booked cruises just for this but the stupid virus hit us. We booked Oasis for Coco Cay. Hopefully next August we'll get there after 2 tries this year.

  6. Well who didn't see this coming? We aren't gonna be allowed to any country pretty soon with the way things are going. We, or some of this country are not getting a handle on this virus unfortunately. Hopefully that happens soon or we get some really good treatments as I have read about several cheap ones. A steroid medication that is real cheap and a cholesterol drug that may be a real interesting treatment.

  7. Perhaps when we stop losing thousands of lives each week because our haste to “resume normal life” has caused us to lose control of the situation.

How many hundreds/thousands of lives per week are you willing to see lost and still call things “normal”?
And it's getting worse by the week. I cannot believe we sacrificed so much for 2-3 months only to squander it. If this is what we were going to do in the end we should have just done nothing for first 3 months. Sad crap, sad crap man.

It all started because a question came up that if Royal sold off the small ships, Baltimore and Tampa won't be available due to bridge restrictions. I said those ports are redundant, no big deal. If anything I advocated for adding capacity at Pt Liberty[emoji6]

@cgolf1 FWIW, Aventure is not in a Vision or Radiance Class ship. It is a Voyager Class, same as Mariner which sails from PC. Freedom Class has the same elevator layout as Voyager Class, just more people
Whew ok great. I agree more capacity at Port Liberty. [emoji1787] We were so freaking excited when Oasis was coming here, booked it almost immediately. Cancelled in May, cancelled I'm Sept. Praying for August 2021 to sail now. [emoji120]

  9. That sounds great. I'm glad there are people willing to test the waters to see how it goes.
If it's anything like the US, they'll have to cancel all the trips & go back to square one again.
I am one of those that had to go back to square one. May cancelled, moved to Sept and that was cancelled. Moved it to August 2021.

But how much of those are cash bookings vs. utilization of all of the FCC that have been issued recently and continue to be issued, most all of which have an expiration date within two years.

From my understanding is most of it is brand new bookings. That is what I am getting from someone in the booking business.
