  1. It's impossible to track my future cruise credits online and even the reps have a problem finding them.  This is unacceptable!
Yeah I used some part of our FCC for a cruise next week that obviously was cancelled, then used "life and shift" to next August so I'm not sure what I have left, I think 1,200 or so. But that doesn't matter because we can't use it till the cruise next August is completed. Then we have to quickly find another cruise because the sailing has to be i think by April or something or you lost the FCC. I think the FCC has to be used by Jan 1? I think? But the sailing has to be before April 1st? Do I have that right, kinda right? Way off? It's not gonna be easy but I think once the full 2022 season is released Royal Caribbean will extended how much time you need to book and sail. At least I think so. [emoji120]

  2.
Thanks! We were having trouble with some FCC showing up on our account, so I was checking on it. What a nice surprise! LOL
For such a large corporation they have one it the worst IT departments. Well before the current crisis the website really is not designed well or works right.

  3. Both our cruises state that we have a zero balance due! I'd would normally be happy to see this, but unfortunately we should still have a balance on each of them. Hope this is just an issue with the site....
I read yesterday on another forum that Royal is have an IT glitch with balances due, surprise surprise right. [emoji1787] Money still owed but not showing up on the website.

  4. Don't be ridiculous???

The Spanish flu, also known as the 1918 flu pandemic, was an unusually deadly influenza pandemic caused by the H1N1 influenza A virus. Lasting from February 1918 to April 1920, it infected 500 million people–about a third of the world's population at the time–in four successive waves. The death toll is typically estimated to have been somewhere between 17 million and 50 million, making it one of the deadliest pandemics in human history.[4]

Corona is peanuts compared to the Spanish Flu but I guess that doesn't fit your narrative.
Excuse me, what the hell is the difference? What does one have to do with the other? We are dealing with what is here now. The 1918 flu has no bearing today with what is going on now. This isn't a contest between which pandemic is worse.
I guess 160 thousand dead in 5-6 months are just peanuts. Go tell tell the countless families grieving that Covid is just peanuts.
The callousness I have witnessed over the last 5-6 months actually astounds me. I have heard everything from "they were old" anyway to "they had preexisting conditions" as if these people were all laying on their death bed, were gonna die in 4 weeks but Covid killed them a few weeks early.
Now like I said, keep downplaying it and cry about wearing a wittle face covering.

  5. I guess you forgot about the Spanish Flu of 1918.

And while the regular flu hasn't killed 160k in 5 months, it's killed an average of 30k a year for over a hundred years in a row yet people don't bat an eye at it. So 30k a year, every year is okay but 160k is something to crap ourselves over??
Yes, I forgot about the Spanish flu of 1918, don't be ridiculous please.
Covid may have killed in just the US in less than a year 300 thousand people. Yeah that is a cause for concern.
The flu kills around 40,000 a year and that is no joke either. We do a flu shot now to help with that.
Don't tell me what "crap my pants"about. You and people like you that downplay this on daily basis are getting more and more people killed. Have another fit over face coverings at Walmart or the supermarket. They are both sad and funny at the same time.

  6. Lol no.  First of all, survival rate is calculated by using the number of people that had the virus and survived (hence, the name).  It is not calculated using the total population.  The people that never had the virus didn't "survive". They just never had it.

Also, you might want to learn how to calculate percentages.  162K/328,000K is indeed 0.005, but you then multiply that number by 100 to get percentage.  For example, 1/100 is 0.01, which is 1%, not 0.01%.
These people have either wishful thinking, are conspiracy kooks or are scared out of their minds in reality. It's a sad day though because misinformation rules the world now.

There is NO drug/medicine/vaccine whatsoever that never has side effects.
Do we all stop taking them?
No - we use common sense to decide whether the (usually remote) risk of side effect is less than the risk of not taking the drug.

And the reports so far are that the "side effects" are slight fever and soar arm where the shot was given. Let's not run for the hills over those "side effects".

  8. Please clarify for me. Have people sailed the ocean forever as a discretionary, leisure activity? I didn't know that. At all.
First you ask a question and then answer it yourself. People have sailed the ocean for centuries and will continue to that I'm sure of. And people have sailed the ocean for both transportation and leisure.

  9. If a cruise ship holds 4000 passengers the cruise line will not sail with 2000.
I originally predicted no cruising till Feb.2021.My new realistic projection is July 2023.
June 2023! They won't be in business like as in at all. I mean I'm not saying you are wrong because who knows but the lines won't be able to last that long. That's still over 2 years away.

I keep thinking back to March when we were agonizing over the need to stay home for a whole two weeks.   Who would have thought.
I've got a very curious question and I'd like to see what people think about this. Instead of a "soft lock down" we did, I mean I went out every single day of this so called lock down, not to party but necessary things but what if we did a full on lock down stay at home for 2-4 weeks? Like we said hey this week go to the supermarket get enough food for 2-4 weeks but on Sunday is a full on shut down. Like the only people that leave their house are cops, fireman, doctor, nurses and people that work in power plants. If we did that for 2-4 weeks would that have made a huge difference or just temporary and this would have went to ***** eventually anyway like it is now?

  11. I have a stupid question. These vaccines which I am not skeptical of. I believe it will be here sooner than most around think and it will be safe. Forget about that though. My question is when you see "the US government ups its investment in such and such vaccine to 2 billion for 100 million doses" or the "UK pays this much for 100 million does of this vaccine", what exactly does that mean? Doesn't that tell us the actual vaccine will be free or am I missing something?

  12.
Very few companies are in it for the greater good, Moderna is staring phase 3

"Moderna said in a statement that it would be able to deliver about 500 million doses per year, and possibly up to a billion doses per year, starting in 2021. The company says it will not sell the vaccine at cost, but for profit"

I never expected anyone to give this vaccine away. What I do expect us that is works and it's safe. The insurance companies and the government fight over price and who pays for what.

  13. 7. What pre-arrangements should be made to ensure that all U.S. seaport communities will accept a returning ship after a COVID-19 outbreak is identified?

    8. What plans should cruise ship operators have for operationalizing shoreside quarantine facilities in the event of a COVID-19 outbreak on board a ship, without exposing the public and without relying on Federal, State, or local resources?

These two statements made it very clear. Basically it is telling that the cruise ship must have debarkation plans in place for everyone onboard to quarantine centers that they will be responsible for or agreement from passengers that they accept the cost. I can understand to an extent because most of their taxes are paid outside the US. However, the same hold true for anyone flying. Airlines should be required to face the same scrutiny because social distancing is not possible on a plane. They can only have 1 passenger ever 3rd or 4th row. If you give a person a pool noodle and they can touch someone with it, they are too close.

How about this and this would be a bit painful for passengers but how about am extra fee on top of everyone's cruise fare? Something like 200 bucks per person that goes into a fund to cover this? Then again I have no idea what the cover charge would need to be. Wasn't there talk of portable temp hospital wards right at the ports of call? They were like pre manufactured hospital rooms that were gonna be placed right at the ports.

  14. After reading what they were asking for comments about, for anyone that can read between the lines, the CDC is leveraging Covid-19 to have them start paying more to be able to us US ports. They want them to fund land-based medical centers. Fund travel costs for medical evac to a quarantine shelter. Fund quarantine shelters for the entire ship. It was fairly clear that the CDC is going to ban cruising for at least 6 more months in the US and maybe even a year.
That would really not be good. Another year would be extremely painful.
