All these cars are ones I love but when you mention Opel it hits a bit more. My mom had a 1970s Opel GT in yellow. I found this on Google but this was basically it. As young kids we went all over the place in this car. The back had a wood bench seat and if I remember no seat belts. Times were different back then.

I miss them too. As for Peter, his family and staff - who you see on TV are who they are in real life. You might have seen me on a couple episodes. 😉 They are only 1.5 hours from my door and people send them cars from around the world. Peter was racing one of his original Ford GTs at the Goodwood Festival this past September. That car is staying in Europe for another event this summer. I would have loved to have been there for that. Not sure I could do that with my own cars, but they do have the means to fix them. An hour the other direction from me is RM Restoration, who has won numerous awards at Pebble Beach as well as many other concours. If RM sounds familiar it is because of RM Sotheby's. It was formerly RM Auctions, a classic car auction company headquartered in Blenheim, Ontario. They partnered with Sotheby's in 2015, when they purchased 25% of RM. Other than cold weather, I live in a fairly decent location for automotive excitement. That weather makes it hard to enjoy cars all year though.

I took a quick look through class winners and a friend of mine took home a prize. Their shop has done a some restorations for me, they have bought a few cars from me, and sold me a few cars to me over the years. Always a good time at their place. Great family business that started in a two car garage.

More photos are popping up on my social media sites. Here is a photo of a youth judge that I know, who lives 30 minutes from my home. He was a youth judge with the Hagerty Kids when they judge my Ford GT in 2019. I also let him ride with me during the trophy presentation, after judging was complete. This year I had to help him tie his tie, before judging at our local concours as his dad wasn’t with him. He is a couple months older than Owen and a great kid.

He said that he could do this but we feel that it is a waste of his time. He could be doing much better things than personally holding a table. Clearly whoever made the rule of no reservations has missed the mark for Star Class. If the Captain or Cruise director wants to eat there they won’t hold a table? For the limited amount of Star Class cabins it seems strange they won’t do it for Oasis but no issue on Symphony. It is nice to read positive things about Derick. I understand he has been part of the Genie program from day one.

That sounds like he did great considering all he had working against him. Sounds like the guests were also very understanding as well. It is good to read this as we have Derick in just over a weeks time. We are going into it with an open mind, as always, but when he said he couldn’t book us a table for playmakers on Oasis we were rather surprised. Especially when I know someone who had it done last year on Oasis. Maybe email communication isn’t a strong point and hopefully everything will work out as we only requested meals and show reservations and nothing more. 🤷♂️

To further both you thoughts, the CLS is now what a Star Loft was pre covid times. We have our 11th Star sailing in just over a week, with another booked for 2024. However we are in no rush to book another at these prices, with our limited vacation window through the year. Location on the ship and 2 bathrooms are must for us but pricing is also a factor.
