  1. That was my initial thought. They could fly them home from Orlando, Miami or Fort Lauderdale, but I doubt logistics would be any easier.
  2. Celebrity unfortunately didn’t work in the end. We are panning this between a baseball tournament and a wedding. It basically gave us a 3 and 4 night sailing to become a 7 day cruise. For the AI we can fly go on a Tuesday and return 7 days later with greater ease and savings. I can handle the beach/pool for a week at an AI, even though I love the ship. I hear you about the ancillary costs too.
  3. 100% correct. We went to a Royalton Resort in Cancun in December with Owen for half of what a NYE cruise would cost. We had their Butler program which gave a few small advantages VS a normal guest. Our March break cruise of 2025 is our only cruise booked at the moment. We booked it almost 2 years ago, and have a 2 BDR GS on Freedom for 6 nights. We could switch to a CLS on Oasis for 8 nights but we are not going to for 10k more.
  4. Currently in the process of booking a Sandals over a cruise for our anniversary in July. We can fly business to Antigua, stay in a butler room with transfers for just what a suite costs on a RC ship. The cruise cost doesn’t include airfare, pre-cruise hotel, specialty dining, Ubers or a drink package. We are hoping that the price bubble with break with RC but who knows when that will happen. It makes it an easy decision even though we love to cruise.
  5. I was just going to day this. The vacuum bad for Alaska is a great addition to your packing skills.
  6. Hard to be;I’ve it has been 3 years. It feels like it was just yesterday that you shared about her passing.
  7. Can confirm, just saw it again last week. The bras quest usually sends the helicopter parents flying, out of Studio B.
  8. We have thought the same in our house. Are they are buying a current location such as Paradise Beach and adapting it, or buying empty land and starting from scratch.
  9. This thread is about Jamaica. Let’s get back on topic.
  10. Lisa and Owen both have huge screens. The Storm trooper is lacking, theirs is double the size. Think iPhone to iPad difference.
  11. Look at you saving money. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚ Joking aside congrats on the new ride, hard to beat a new car. Are trade in values still strong?
  12. You are right. I’ve missed her posts. Has anyone seen @Jimbo lately/? I have not seen him post in the last week.
  13. You know, it was the ship that we thought was going to overrun ports of call by dumping out so many more guests. Once we stepped on the ship we knew in minutes that it was a game changer, and it shows by how many times we returned to her.
  14. That means Cats has been on the ship longer than the ship has been sailing. Ugh. Cats was the only "negative" comment I gave on the post cruise survey. I'm sure the actors, costumes, set etc are great, but the play needs to move on. Even Lucy agrees. πŸ™‚
  15. I agree with you, it affects everyone differently. I can cut through the smoking area and handle a person with too much perfume nearby but my dad had issues with both being close to him. I don’t mind the vapers either, but do not like when they haul off a puff in the areas where they are not allowed too. On our second to last cruise one person was vaping in Studio B during the quest. Their team lost 10 points, as they should.
  16. I read your comment exactly like you intended.
  17. Thanks for the reminder. If one looks with a critical eye, you will some signs of a ship that is 20 years old. Examples I could easily mention would be sun fade to things like the water slides and life rafts, a few areas of rust which were being painted, a missing arm rest to a chair in the Aqua Theatre but not of these items I saw effected our cruise. They were no large areas of rust, thread bare seats, stained carpet etc…. things that made us stop and say OMG. We might even switch out cruise next year to be on Oasis VS Freedom - to which we also enjoyed.
