  1. Afew more questions from a veteran cruiser contemplating VV please: Is Richard's Rooftop a restaurant as well as a bar? Is there a designated suite restaurant like they have on say Celebrity (Luminae)? What are the daytime activities like on the ships (Scarlet Lady in particular)? If one stays in a Mega Rockstar suite, do you pay for drinks in the bars and restaurants? Thanks!
  2. I meant CS category on the Eclipse. I do bring USB splitters, but thought I'd check. Thanks
  3. Does anyone know if there are USB ports in Celebrity Suites? Thanks
  4. Just FYI, hotel prices down here are absolutely bonkers post-covid. We enjoy staycations fairly often...we won't even bother during season these days. That said, we are experiencing one of the busiest tourist seasons I have ever seen in my 50ish years of living in South Florida.
  5. So for those wondering if it pays to go with Oceania vs Celebrity... FWIW, I was pricing cruises on both the Oceania and on Celebrity...nearly identical itineraries (Pacific Coast), same length and same time frame, roughly the same size ships...very similarly priced all things considered...but Oceania PH suite was 300 sf, and Celebrity CS was about 100 sf larger (and with a separate bedroom). Unless the food and entertainment on O is significantly better (which I have heard isn't necessarily the case), I'm not sure it pays to go to a smaller cabin to "upgrade" to Oceania.
  6. What a refreshing thread on dress code lol! So nice to see 28 posts with no one complaining about how their dining experience has been totally ruined by the guy sitting 5 tables away with the jeans.
  7. I'm so sorry. We didn't realize we were being so loud. It was our anniversary! 😊
  8. Sorry for the redundancy, but I did get it fixed via your method! Thanks for that.
  9. I am Diamond on RCL, and just booked my first Celebrity Cruise. Up until today, it showed me as "Elite" on the X website, as it should. Today I show as ZERO points. I will call, but if there is a glitch others are having, I can wait. Anyone?
  10. I am sorry....forgot what it's called....but where they take your luggage the night before and deliver it to the airline? Thanks
  11. Is it difficult to spot your Uber after disembarking at the cruise port with so many people and others doing the same?
  12. Great thread. Will be on the Eclipse in October (Pacific Coast). Thank you to the OP!
  13. Thank you. You confirmed my thoughts, and didn't help with my dilemma over which area to choose though! 😉 I know the touristy sights like the Hollywood sign, the Walk of Fame, etc. are likely overrated and cheesy, but a part of me feels like we need to see them. Thanks again!
  14. Hi all. I was wondering if I could get some advice please. This October will be our first time visiting LA, and we will be flying in a couple of days early (Friday, for a cruise that departs on Sunday) to do a little sightseeing. I am getting some mixed suggestions from people who know the area though...maybe someone on here can help please? I think we should do the touristy things around LA...some are telling us to stay in West Hollywood (which is far from the cruise port it seems), others are telling us we should stay around Santa Monica (also far from the cruise port). I know there are places closer, but since we will be in the area on Friday and Saturday before we board...I guess it makes sense to stay in one of the other areas I mentioned. Any thoughts from those who know better? Thanks in advance!
  15. Hahaha. Thanks. Fortunately I am good with the one I have, and can't afford another!
  16. which is the plan that comes with Retreat bookings?
  17. Do you have any pictures of those women so we can see for ourselves just how inappropriate they were? 😉
  18. IMO the "surroundings" and ambiance are more about the decor of the restaurant and the server, not the wardrobe choices of fellow diners. Some may not like it, but the world has gotten more casual. For good or for bad....some like it, some don't. But regardless, there is no putting the toothpaste back in that tube. I get your dislike of it, and I understand it. I am old enough to remember when people got dressed up to fly on an airplane. Times have changed, and cruising on most cruise lines has changed along with it.
  19. I read this thread (and others like it) and continue to be amazed at how so many seem to feel what others wear impacts their own dinner experience. We I dine out, I care about the person/people sitting across from me at my table, and the quality of the food and service. I can't think of a time I can specifically say "I like that restaurant; the food and service were impeccable, but if only that guy 4 tables away dressed nice it would have been a great night." I also find it hard to believe that people who pay the money to go on a Celebrity cruise depend upon the dress of others in the room to make them feel like they are getting their money's worth. I am not sure what I am missing here.
  20. I'm honestly a little surprised that someone who lives in the Florida Keys would make that post! No snark intended, but as a lifelong South Floridian, I am so used to vacationers dining at nearly all levels of restaurants in very casual attire. We tend to care about how we dress when go to dinner...but it's impossible to go to a nice restaurant without seeing some in shorts, team jerseys, ballcaps, even flip flops. My impression is that the Keys are even more that way. We have done Caribbean cruises with friends from up north, and they tend to have that "I'm on vacation, so I will wear what I want" mentality. I've just gotten used to it.
