  1. It is an open bow I/O that we have had for nearly 40 years now, We use it for skiing, kneeboarding, wakeboarding, and tubing. Basically, any kind of water sports. It has a Volvo engine and out drive, so some parts are not as easy to come by as they use to be.
  2. Last night, we went to the Waterfire festival. I told Susan I had read that they had opened a Tiki Lounge nearby, so we decided to go for a couple drinks. What a disappointment. It was essentially a patio to an Irish Pub, so I don’t get that connection. It was difficult to get to, so it wasn’t really crowded, even though it was right next to the stage where the bands were playing at the festival. The decorations were pathetic, so it didn’t have a Tiki vibe. I think @Sea Dog has his set up nicer. We looked at the menu, and thought maybe the drinks were in souvenir glasses. Well, we were wrong. I think the owners must have been to CocoCay, because the $16 Hurricane looks like one of Royal’s small offerings. And even worse, Susan’s Rumrunner was about half that size.
  3. Just some random stuff happening from the last few days. So, I think I mentioned that we had a couple intermittent problems with our boat last month, and I was waiting on some parts to come in. Friday, I took it in to the shop for them to work on. The mechanic I use is very meticulous, and I spent a little more time there than I thought I would. As luck would have it, as he was putting in new points, one of the screws dropped and ended up in one of the belt pulleys. He had to pull all the belts and pulleys and alternator to get to the screw. When the alternator came off, it was obvious vibration had made the hole not quite round anymore. The good news was that he had a replacement, and the better news was there was no charge for it. Now all the parts are on, and we put it on the lake Saturday to test it out. It was a beautiful day. oh, one other picture from the boat shop. He had an old Chris Craft that he is restoring. I will be interested in seeing the finished product.
  4. That is a pretty neat cliff walk. I like that suspension bridge portion in one of the photos. I doubt that I would ever get Susan out on it though.
  5. Happy birthday. 🎂🎂🎉🎉🎈🎈 I can say that I don’t miss those days at Chuck E. Cheese. My grandkids have never been to one, and I doubt they ever will.
  6. That is good to hear the positive outcome so far. Hope you are able to swallow better before your cruise sail date gets here.
  7. It looks like they are getting a few waves. Not much action at the pier today. Yes, hope they can miss the worst of it. They are overnighting in Manhattan to try and wait out the worst of the storm. That’s good. Hope it wasn’t rocking too much. Safe travels home.
  8. I will say. Can’t believe how slow moving that storm is. This is from the windy app, and it shows the location on Friday in this shot. It looks like @Jimbo might have some interesting weather. Hope he raids Windjammer for some green apples to help with sea sickness.
  9. Harry, these were some of the photos from Showgirls on Odyssey Oh, when we sailed, you could book iFly or North Star for any day of the week on the first day. Check when you board.
  10. You beat me to that comparison. We do the same, unless there is a really good Black Friday sale. Our CP sale today went down to $18.99 per day. Will have to see if there are actually any sales for Black Friday. I do have a lot of OBC to use, so that will probably see some of it as well as grats.
  11. We have been adjusting to the quiet in our house, since our grandson went back to California and back to school. One of the things he got for his birthday is a new iPhone. It is nice, because he will call us or FaceTime us a couple times a week after he gets home from school. I finished up a photo book of our summer, and he should get it this week. Keeping our Summer of Fun theme, this is the cover of the book.
  12. @harryfat1, enjoy your December sailing on Odyssey. I think you will enjoy that ship. That was our favorite after the Oasis class ships. Of course, we sailed it at the restart of sailing, and it was great at half capacity. If you want to add to your research, I did a live review of our October, 2021 sailing on Odyssey, and there is a link in my signature. I will be looking forward to reading your trip report on that one.
  13. You can also find them at Old Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey. I will not say we saw them many years ago, because us old guys have a different frame of reference as to what "many years" mean than you young guys do.
  14. +2 @bobmacliberty the photos look great. Glad everything came off perfectly. Wishing many happy years to the new married couple. +2. Have a great cruise, and make sure you avoid Lee.
  15. @dani negreanu, @Sea Dog, @A&L_Ont, @akcruz, @Sunshine3601, @jmh2006, @BonTexasNY, @Ocean Boy, @DaniDanielle, @Momof3gurlz, @aussielozzie18, @grapau27, @sgmn, @Luckynana, @Arzeena thank you all for your kind words.
  16. Susan received some bad news. Her cousin was killed in a motorcycle crash this weekend. He was 57. It seems I have known far too many people that have lost their lives in bike crashes.
  17. @dani negreanu Dani, that is great news about your cousin. So glad to hear she got the “all clear” I think we all remember where we were on 9/11, 22 years ago. Susan’s late mother’s birthday was September 11. After that, she never felt like celebrating her birthday, because of the date.
  18. The legs are a little older now, but I wouldn’t want to get the ladies too excited by posting them. They use to market the video shot during the cruise in a Cruise In Review DVD. There may be some of those young legs in this, as well as some risqué shots of me in the Quest. Maybe those of us, who were in the DVD, were the only ones who bought these.
  19. We traveled to Ohio for a football game today. Our granddaughter was cheering. Their team is still undefeated, with today’s score 36-0. This is the second time they have played teams from Ohio. I think our kids are spoiled with the fields we have here in Pennsylvania. Schools here play on artificial turf, and one even recently put in a $1M + video scoreboard. By comparison, the Ohio fields they played on were in pretty sad shape, and the bleachers, if they had any, had caution tape on them. I guess it highlights the different ways schools are funded in each state.
  20. You forgot to add a tablet to the choice. That is actually my preferred method. Oh, and back in the day, the sexy man contest was just a sexy legs contest. I think I may still have a medal as a past winner.
  21. Ok, I am probably much more anal in my method for luggage tags. First, I save that luggage tag PDF page as a JPG, and trim the JPG to the size of the tag. Next, I drop that trimmed JPG into a Word document, so that four of them will fit on a page. Next, I save the Word document as a PDF, and insert text boxes with our names, where they want your name on the tag. Then, it is ready to print and cut them out for the tag holders. In true Cheapo Dad fashion, I only have to use one sheet of paper for four tags. Of course, I have done this so often, I have a template with everything ready to go, except for the new JPGs.
