  1. It really was! Just finished it and one of the best cruises ever!
  2. We bought it there but just a fair warning, we went another time during Easter week and no hotels had any day passes available. I would assume the same would happen for any holiday periods.
  3. We loved Las Hadas even though it’s been a while since we’ve been there. We went with another couple and the taxi was inexpensive for all of us. The day passes included something like 4 drinks each plus lunch at their buffet but also, pools towels, a place at either the pool or the beach to set up for the day. It also included use of their facilities. I don’t remember the exact cost but it was very reasonable…maybe $40 pp. The other place I would consider was the Karmina Barcelo (sp?). There are a few resorts there that were awful (the name Terra del Sol or something similar to that comes to mind) .. so definitely look on trip advisor (or a similar site) for recent reviews. Sadly, Manzanillo has gone through some changes that have not been for the better. We used to hike around the hills and neighborhoods that are off limits to tourists now, if you follow the travel warning. If they still have it available, we really loved the turtle sanctuary excursion down towards Colima. I believe the state department warns against travel on your own in that area so, it’s best to take an organized tour if you venture out that way.
  4. I love that chicken Korma but I must say, the chicken curry they serve during the pub lunch is just as good.
  5. oh no .. so sad you had to miss your cruise and hope you recovery quickly.
  6. I’ve heard there is a special Indian food menu available in the MDR for dinner. You just have to ask for it.
  7. If you do write to corporate, please don’t mention he is ‘homely’, as that has a different meaning in the US. Maybe just say he was wonderful.
  8. We’ve always gotten the Royal blue sports clip and no choice in the matter. It will clip onto your shirt or belt loop, wherever you wish to have it. You could even clip it in your hair, I suppose. No further accessory needed to attach it.
  9. While they won’t be able to share a price fixed meal, they can simply each order off the a la carte menu and even split those entrees. I agree, it wouldn’t be worth it for them to get their own package. Even if your son has a soda, they will probably just charge it under your package. Sharing is not allowed but with things like that, we’ve seen them turn a blind eye, even when we insist on paying for it when it’s for someone without a package. I think they definitely care more about the sharing of alcohol or someone that orders 20 sodas or coffees a day. You can upgrade just one of your WiFi plans within the package to get 4 devices. I think it is cheaper that way than to purchase one more plan. ??? there have been some recent changes so, you’d just have to do the math on that one. Anyway, you can all share the WiFi. There are no rules against that. Sounds like you have a solid plan and one that will save you money in the long run. Bon voyage!
  10. Not sure how old the kids are but if they aren’t going to order a full meal, they can probably get away with just having a piece of your pizza (if you go to Alfredo’s), as you the adults each get one. We always just share one of the price fixed meals even though we always get a package. If they are going to be sticklers (and I doubt they will unless they are grown teenagers) the casual dining venues also have a la carte pricing so, they wouldn’t have to go with the whole $14.99 meal. They could even split a pizza or main course for $8.50. It doesn't make a lot of sense to get the package for kids. The caveat is, if you are booked with one child and one adult in each cabin, you do have to purchase the package for the two first occupants in each cabin. If you are all sharing a room, you will have no problems. oops: just saw the ages of the kids in your OP .. my mistake.
  11. Their chances are slim to none to dine with you unless you ordered food into your cabin and they could join you there.
  12. You’ve got it .. especially if it such was an outstanding experience! I probably would never book another Total Solar Eclipse cruise because it just never could compare to the one on the Discovery back in April. Again, our friends made it so extra special for us.
  13. A dear friend invited me to it once and my DH also joined us and he paid for it. The experience was beyond amazing! I loved the 360° immersion into the cultures and the presentation with a bit of fantasy by the hostess and the digital trickery on the tables. The lemon pasta was absolutely incredible. I took a photo of the recipe and will try to make it soon. The service was also impeccable. So, would I do it again, probably not. Why not? Because the experience we had just can not be beat as it was perfection!
  14. If anyone has a photo of the current officer board from the Majestic Princess, it would sure be appreciated if you could post it here. thanks
  15. I don’t know anything more. Perhaps there was a portion in there that they removed but I do recall reading something about having to pull it a couple of years ago. I just know I loved it. I cruise often but never far from home so, I only know I haven’t seen it on any of the ships from the west coast at this time. I do absolutely love Rock Opera .. it’s always a treat to see it, as the talent changes by the time we get a change to see it again. It has changed a bit since I first saw it, and to me, in a good way. I may not have a sophisticated appreciation of the arts and I highly doubt a great majority of Princess passengers possess that, either. I do know what I love and I really love that show. I don’t care for magic shows, but some people love them. We all have different tastes, which is why there is a variety of events, shows and activities through the ship.
  16. We cruise quite a bit on Princess and mostly from somewhere on the west coast of the US, so the production shows are all repeats for us. I still like Colors of the World but only go to see it every seven times it is offered. Every single time that Rock Opera or Spotlight Bar is on the schedule, I have to go. Those ones just wow me. I didn’t care for Fiera, Stardust or Magic to Do but I can still appreciate all the effort and talent that go into them. I saw Secret Silk only once and absolute loved it. I don’t even know if it’s still around. I know there was some controversy surrounding it so, they may have pulled it. ??? I am fine with the shorter shows. I get restless sitting in those theater seats for too long, especially at night. I do tend to really love the enrichment program speakers. They always have such interesting topics.
  17. That’s exactly why we got the annual policy. We oftentimes discussed that we could use it and keep that in the back of our minds but, have never done so. In addition to never using it for the CFAR for FCCs, the annual policy just has better coverage for medical and emergency evacuation.
  18. We are cruising so much this coming year that we finally decided that the annual policy was going to save us so much on our insurance premiums. But, I must say, that one perk from the Princess insurance I will miss is to be able to cancel for any reason and still receive those FCCs. When we won’t have have as many cruises planned after this coming year, I will definitely go back to the PVP policy.
  19. https://www.chilkatvalleynews.com/2024/07/23/skagway-cruise-passengers-stranded-in-canada-by-a-rockslide-rejoin-their-ships-in-haines/ Not sure if this would apply to you … not sure this has been cleared yet. I tried to see if there were any updates and I couldn’t find anything. Perhaps, no news is good news. And yes, prices on excursions have gone crazy, but what hasn’t?
  20. you are right … No excuses but am suffering from some brain fog … 😂
  21. So, I shouldn’t be too surprised if I hear “man overboard” over the PA? 🤣
  22. This is for US citizens: I believe you will have to get a certified copy of your birth certificate, as well and you can use the passport card as your givermnet issued ID. Just be very careful as not every port in the Caribbean accepts anything less than a passport. And in case of an emergency, if you need to fly home from one of your ports, you will need a passport card.
  23. We are currently on the Crown and we don’t have that. I’m not even sure if those even exist anymore as they have switched over to the medallions. Even when they are working, your AC went out along with your lights. In a hot weather climate, that would be miserable.
