  1. The good: - Our room was ready when we got on the ship. - The food was excellent. The beef tenderloin was truly the best we have had on any ship. - We had anytime dining and arrived between 5:15 - 5:30 p.m. The maximum we had to wait was 10 minutes for a table. - Puerto Rico was one of our ports and we loved it. We did the Princess walking tour. Our guide used a microphone and we heard everything she said. The lunch and drink at the end was very good. We sat at a table for six and met two other couples. Nice time. - We had an outstanding meal at Sabatini's. The waitstaff was wonderful.....It was definitely a 10. - We didn't have the best weather for cruising but the captain did his best to go around the bad weather. We had some rocking but I really didn't think it was bad. - Our bed and pillows were so comfortable. - Disembarkation went pretty quick. We handle our own bags so it usually goes fast. - International cafe was very good. I just wish there was a line for black coffee only. - Pizza by the pool was excellent. We also had burgers and chicken sandwiches one day and they were also good. - We won at the casino.....yeah! (smoke was bad though) The negative: - We were in room E731, mini suite. Second day of the cruise, our balcony had at least an inch or two of water. Not sure where the water came from but we told the room steward and he removed the water while we were out of the room. We were told the drain was plugged. On the last day of the cruise, we had A LOT of rain. Our balcony flooded and water came into our room. (They obviously didn't unplug the drain) We were sitting on the couch, watching tv and saw the water pouring in. There was a big puddle right by the slider and it was running down to the bed. Our luggage was under the bed and we quickly put the luggage on the bed. My husband went to get the room steward and he called his supervisor. Towels were put down to try to stop it for going all over the room. Maintenance came with a shop vac and fans. Supervisor advised us to move and called the front desk for availability. There was one mini suite available.....not comparable to ours but we decided we had to move. We packed everything up and went to room D732. Our new room steward tried to stop us from going down the hall and we said "we are the new people for one night". He knew about us but was not happy. He never talked to us and actually turned his back when he saw us. I get it.....he needed to clean that room and we were only there for one night. The beds in the new room cannot be made into a queen bed. They were so uncomfortable. They are right up against the wall and if you roll over your arm hits the wall. Not good. - Toilet issue......we had no water going into the toilet to flush it. One day was really bad. Our room steward was notified and we did have water flowing again. There were two other days that there was water but very little. - The wheelhouse bar opens at 4:00 p.m. We liked going there with the other couple we were traveling with. Most afternoon, there was no one to wait on us. We would go down to Explorers Lounge to get our drinks. We could have ordered them on the medallion but it was easier to just get them. No blue cheese stuffed olives in any of the bars. (I know this has been discussed on cruise critic already) - Our last dinner was at Steamers. We normally eat around 5:30 p.m. but the earliest we could get was 7:30 p.m. We called a few times during the cruise but was always told that was the earliest. We got there around 7:15 p.m. and was quickly seated. There were maybe 6 other tables being used. The place was empty! Our dinner was ok but nothing special. We all said "one and done". - We will probably not cruise on the Caribbean Princess anytime soon. We have sailed 11 times out of 32 cruises on the Caribbean. I have always enjoyed sailing on her but this was not the best cruise and had nothing to do with the weather. Our next cruise is in March on the Ruby.
  2. I'm within the time frame and cruise has been paid for in full. I've been getting the message for 6 days now. So frustrating.
  3. I tried to bid for a suite from a mini suite for the last few days. It gives me a message that I'm not eligible. I'm within the correct time frame. My Princess CVP tried and got the same message. He has no idea why. Has anyone had this happen to them? There are suites available.
  4. I used chat yesterday and they were very helpful. There were 55 people in front of me but it went quickly. I think people just removed themselves from the waiting line. The person on the other end was very helpful in booking an excursion for me. She said Princess was having issues and were working on it. I've used chat in the past and have had no issues
  5. Thanks to both of you for your responses. I really appreciate it.
  6. In your folio.....did it show as shore excursion credit?
  7. My husband and I each have $100 shore excursion credit for our cruise in March 2024. We have been to the Caribbean MANY times and there really isn't anything that we want to use the credit for. Has anyone had any luck in getting Princess to switch the credit to regular OBC, so we could use it in the casino?
  8. Princess has made recent changes that I really dislike. I am very loyal to my Princess rep.........he gives me amazing service. I was looking at a New England cruise this morning and went through the entire process until there was no hold button. I always like looking at the rooms available, putting one on hold and then letting my rep finish up the process. He gets the credit, marks my room "meta upgrade only" and everyone is happy.
  9. Our itinerary - Fort Lauderdale Princess Cays At sea San Juan, Puerto Rico Grand Turk Amber Cove, Dominican Republic At Sea Fort Lauderdale Which days will be formal? I'm assuming the first sea day.....will it be Amber Cove? Thanks in advance.
  10. Nothing is working for us. My husband called Princess this morning. They told him that Princess is having a log in issue with MANY accounts. With her help, we are now in the Green lane and have a Sabitini's reservation.
  11. We decided to try again this morning to book our reservations. We can't even log into the medallion.
  12. This is the message: An error occured....Your table could not be reserved. This is at the very end, after selecting the date, time, number of guests and the credit card is put in.
  13. We are scheduled to cruise in December. Cruise is fully paid for. We cannot reserve a time for Sabitini's. We keep getting an error message. We tried two different credit cards but continue to get the same error. Anyone else having this issue?
  14. We cruised 2 weeks in 2022 on her and 2 weeks this year. The only complaint that we had was the toilet overflowed the first week of our 2022 cruise. It was quickly taken care of and you would have never known there was an issue. We thought the staff was excellent. We ate in the dining room, buffet and room service. I did see quite a few passengers at the buffet handle food that they weren't taking and staff quickly handled it. Maybe we are easy to please after 32 cruises.
  15. A couple of new things for me...... I think Princess has made some changes to re-faring. I have re-fared for years but this year seems to be a little different. I have a cruise scheduled for December and noticed that the price went down $300, with the same OBC. I e-mailed my CVP (who I love) and he told me it was for new bookings only. Nowhere on the website did it say new bookings only. I wouldn't have asked him to refare if I had seen that. He said the new bookings only is listed on his end. He ended up canceling my cruise (that had my favorite room) and giving me a guarantee for the lower price. I contacted him immediately and was able to get my old room back. I was ready to cancel the cruise if I couldn't get the room back. We love E731 on the Grand Class. We have 5 future cruises booked in that room. I was told that those are now considered the less expensive and non-refundable. I guess in every category the less expensive has a non-refundable deposit. I was not aware of this. My CVP informed me that all my future cruises were booked awhile ago and are still refundable.....they are grandfathered in. I had noticed on the Princess website that the Caribbean Princess is not showing the Emerald deck for mini-suites. This was something new to me. Looks like I won't be able to book my favorite room anymore. I read cruise critic all the time and check the Princess website. Did I miss some announcement about these changes?
  16. My bid from mini-suite to vista suite was $600.
  17. We were on the Caribbean Princess, April 15, 2023, sailing. We had a mini suite booked and did the minimal bid for a vista suite. There were no suites showing on the Princess website. We received an e-mail that they accepted our bid and we were moved to D737. It did say our bid was weak when we submitted it but we decided to just try. We knew we would like any vista suite that they put us in, so we weren't worried when our location would be.
  18. You will be allowed to get off first because you are in a suite.
  19. We were off by 7. Left the parking garage by 7:30 am
  20. There were no seats and I just wanted a to go cup of coffee. I would go there after walking in the morning and take the cup to my room. There was an employee there that would pour the coffee into the cup and I would be on my way. (I did stand in line.....no cutting in line) There was another employee that would write on the cup that I wanted it black and my name. He would put me in the line of specialty coffees being made. I asked if he could just pour the coffee and he said no, I had to wait.
  21. Background - This was my husband and my 30th cruise. Arrival - Princess had e-mailed us that our arrival time was now at 12:30 p.m. because of the cleaning from noro. We arrived at the time and checked in. Our room wasn't ready until 2:30 p.m. We went to have lunch but needed to bring our luggage with us. We do carry on luggage. Room - We were in vista suite - C750. We originally booked a mini suite on the dolphin deck but put in the lowest bid for a vista suite and were notified a couple of weeks before the cruise that it was accepted. We felt it was worth it. We met our room steward right away and he told us that he was responsible for ALL the suites in the aft area. This was not just the Caribe deck but all aft suites. He did have a helper but we rarely saw them. We would leave a note and things were taken care of but we could tell that he had a lot on his plate. The room was tidied up twice a day. We miss having a little pad of paper and pen. Why was that done away with????? International Cafe - we like this area but not sure why the coffee area is not larger. There needs to be a line for just plain coffee. I felt bad for people who stood in line for food and then had to stand in line for coffee. This area can get quite busy at times. Premium Desserts - Princess needs to do away with this. We tried it but would never order again. It took forever to get the sundae and it was NOTHING special. The ice cream is just plain vanilla ice cream......not premium ice cream. The chocolate tasted like chocolate sauce....not hot fudge. We threw away the lollipop. I don't understand the small bottles of liquor. We asked for Kahlua in the sundae and they poured it into a container for us. The girl asked for our room number because there was a charge and we said that we already paid but the girl insisted on getting our cabin number. We refused and then they just threw out the Kahlua. People that had placed their orders were hanging around the counter. It was very crowded. We never went back. Not worth the calories, hassle or cost. We went to Sabitini's for dinner one night. We had an outstanding meal. I've always wanted to try Ossobuco. It was to die for. So tender and flavorful. We normally go to Crown Grill but decided to skip it this cruise. We had club class for dining. The staff is outstanding. We had cruised in February and there were quite a few that were still there. That was nice. We could always find something that we liked on the menu. We would go to the buffet or order food to be delivered for lunch. Breakfast was at Sabitini's. There were people that were sick with noro on the cruise. We did not get sick. We wash our hands, use the liquid and try to stay away from crowds. We did go to the Princess Theater one evening to see the comedian. I love to lay in the sun and usually find a lounger on the sun deck, right outside of the Sanctuary. There was only one day that it was semi busy up there. My husband likes to read up in Skywalkers or on our deck. I do think the crew tried their best to keep people from getting sick. I did witness many passengers not washing their hands, they touched the food and did not listen to what the crew asked them to do. I also saw a child go to the hand washing station and her mother told her that she was ok and didn't need to wash. The little girl said "but mom, I need to wash my hands". The mother actually pulled the girl from the sink. Maybe they weren't going to the buffet....... We had quite a bit of OBC, so we used it in the casino. We would have gambled more but the smell of smoke was bad. Princess use to have 2 non smoking nights during a seven day cruise but every night was smoking night. We were going to go to bingo during the week but they only had it on the last day. By then we had used up our OBC. Getting off the ship was a breeze. We were one of the first off and we take our own luggage. Getting to the parking garage was a little challenge but we were good once we found the elevators. Our only complaints were the coffee line at the International Cafe and the Premium Desserts.
  22. Our boarding was delayed last Sat. Everything went fine that I know. We had no issues
  23. We just went to the buffet to get food to bring back to our room. People are being stupid today. My husband heard a passenger say he wasn't putting the sanitizing liquid on because he didn't like how it felt and wasn't washing his hands. The lady in back of ne kept hitting her plate onto my arm, which means she was way too close.
