  1. Yup, perfect solution! I didn’t even think of that. Good one, Jimmy!
  2. Personally, I would rather have my DH do it for me. We would switch plates until it was all cut up and then switch back. No one would even notice. I would feel a little awkward having a waiter hovering over my plate, although I have no doubt that they would gladly do it for you. Just my opinion. Sorry about your injury!
  3. How awesome is that! You will look so beautiful on your anniversary! Wishing you both the best time ever!
  4. One night when we received our veggie selection, they were grilled and we didn’t even ask for it that way. Since we don’t eat meat (just fish and seafood) we make a point of telling the Maître d and our waitstaff that we’d like lots of veggies at the beginning of our cruise. Our waiter said they were grilled with olive oil, which is fine with us. So, just put in a request for the following evening.
  5. Sorry, already answered by wowzz
  6. Oh, for sure Crown Grill! Tell them it’s your anniversary before you arrive and you can expect something special. You will both look amazing in your formal wear, too. Don’t be surprised if the maître d compliments you when you arrive. Enjoy your wonderful night!
  7. Congratulations on your weight loss! I’ve also been a member of WW a few years ago and it really does help put you on the road to better eating habits. You can still stay within your allowed points with some creative planning and good judgement. Have a fabulous time on your cruise!
  8. We always go to the MDR for embarkation lunch or Alfredo’s. The buffet is such chaos the first day and you literally wander around and around holding your plate to find a seat and your food gets cold. No thank you! We like our first day to be relaxing and comfortable. The food is so much nicer in the MDR, too. So many people walk by Alfredo’s not realizing it’s complimentary dining. Don’t tell! lol On some of the newest ships Alfredo’s is renamed Gigi’s.
  9. Yes, you can take food to your cabin. We do it all the time. You can use the tray under your ice bucket to make it easier. Some clever folks actually purchase an inexpensive tray from the dollar store to take with them. We like to sit on our balcony with some wine and a few nibbles.
  10. We’re sailing on Regal in September. Thank you for your honest review. I think we’ll just avoid The Crown Grill this trip. I used to enjoy it there, the halibut was always quite lovely.
  11. You can eat healthy on a cruise and still enjoy yourself……we’ve been doing it for years. We eat much more than celery and lettuce, that’s for sure. We don’t eat meat at all, but we do eat fish and we love it! We always tell our waitstaff and often we’re served fish that’s not even on the menu. We ask for any kind of vegetables, and prefer grilled, but we’ll take whatever. We eat seafood on occasion and we’ve been served some beautiful shrimp much larger than the cocktail variety. You just have to ask! We share one dessert on occasion. My DH had a heart attack many years ago and was hospitalized for two weeks. The cardiologist said my DH had to change his diet and lifestyle or else. So, we did! Now we cruise, eat well, drink alcohol in moderation (we have to have our wine at dinner with the doctors blessing, of course). Having a great time and enjoying a healthy lifestyle can go hand in hand. We never, ever feel deprived! More people should try it……you might find you really enjoy it!
  12. Berries, especially blueberries, are super healthy and contain very little sugar. I always request berries in the MDR with my breakfast and usually no problem getting them. Occasionally, I get strawberries more often than blueberries and raspberries, but that’s fine. You have to search the buffet for berries and not always successful. Oatmeal or cottage cheese topped with berries, nuts, seeds and a little drizzle of honey……delicious breakfast!
  13. We’re booked on HAL Rotterdam for 2024 and Celebrity Beyond 2023 and Celebrity Ascent 2024 and two on Regal Princess in 2023. Looking forward to all of them, but I understand what you’re saying. I was lucky to get a wonderful CVP with Princess who literally stopped me from throwing in the towel with Princess forever. She’s been wonderful to work with. However, the smoking policy on Princess will find us find us moving on after our Regal cruises, unless that policy changes. Thank you for sharing your frustration with us.
  14. Thank you for getting back to us! I hope you have an absolutely wonderful cruise. We’re doing a TA in the fall and actually wondered the same thing as you for the same reason. I guess we’ll also wait until we board. I’m glad you weren’t put off by our discussion. Sometimes threads go sideways on Cruise Critic, so just ignore it lol. Please let us know how it works out for you….thanks again.
  15. Enjoy your cruise! We haven’t sailed on Regal since pre-Covid times and very anxious to hear your take on things new and the same. We sail on Regal in September and would so appreciate your review of the MDR and anywhere else you happen to dine. Thanks so much……Bon Voyage!
  16. We’re doing a TA and this is very helpful. Thank you!
  17. They were VERY specific. Not everyone enjoys dress code threads as much as you do. “Seems” as though you look for ways to initiate those discussions. I’m done. Enjoy your day.
  18. “seems”? How do you know what the OPs reasons were? Perhaps we should just answer the question that’s asked and not guess what’s really on their mind. Maybe the OP just didn’t want to get into another discussion about dress codes. We should respect that.
  19. The OP did not ask what they can wear on formal nights, they asked what nights were formal so they could plan specialty restaurants.
  20. I’m sure you’re right, it’s the money. My big issue is that shower curtains are breeding grounds for mold and mildew. I also wonder what other people are depositing on these curtains that we can’t see, such as Noro virus and other “stuff”. I think it’s safe to say that room stewards just do not have the time to sanitize the curtains after each sailing and I doubt that they’re replaced often. If other cruise lines can do it, so can Princess.
  21. I’m curious as to why Princess sticks (pun intended) to the old style shower stall with a curtain when most every other cruiseline switched to the larger glass walled showers years ago.
  22. I’m not a fan of shower curtains, especially ones used by other people. This way the curtain stays in place and I don’t have to keep touching it……one and done. Yes, I’m obsessive about germs, it’s just me lol. You are correct, much less of an issue in the mini suites.
