  1. Lol the op lives in Britain and I doubt if he even gives one thought to American baseball. Let’s go Blue Jays!
  2. Thank you so much! Nice to hear our British and European friends didn’t disappoint us in their choice of attire for the evening. Such class! Can’t wait until we board Regal for our British Isles cruise. Looking forward to following along with you on your adventures.
  3. Well done! Very interesting read and nicely thought out. So glad to hear you enjoyed your cruise. After 35 Caribbean cruises we changed destinations and haven’t been there in years, but it’s fun to hear about others who choose the Caribbean as their cruise itinerary. Thanks!
  4. Actually, you can do it because I did just that last month. The price of our cruise in September dropped considerably and considering that it was a Saturday and our CVP was off for the weekend, I placed a hold on the same cruise, but booked the cabin next door. When my CVP returned on Monday, she fixed it all up and we saved $1600.00! My account showed two cruises for the same date, different cabins, different prices until the hold fell off.
  5. Watched it! Very well done and your friend should be quite proud of himself. Thank you for sharing with us.
  6. Have a wonderful time! Please tell us about your excursions.
  7. We will also be sailing out of Southampton and my DH, also a Brit, will be taking his “dress up” clothes. We never cruise into any US ports anymore, as we prefer Europe and the Mediterranean. I think the difference is primarily American lifestyle and culture. “Casual dress” in the US is much different than “casual dress” in Europe. Even here in Canada, my sons wouldn’t even think about wearing shorts and t shirts to a nice restaurant. When we cruise, my DH wears a nice jacket, with or without a tie, and nice dress pants on casual evenings and dresses up for formal evenings. This is the norm for people on the cruises we take, so the “new casual” is not really anything we observe.
  8. You need to lighten up just a wee bit. Yes, it’s silly, but certainly not anything to get riled up about. Relax!
  9. Thank you so much for sharing your experience on Sky. I truly believe that the majority of passengers onboard are of like minds. The unhappy ones are just the loudest ones. Glad everyone is safe.
  10. This is usually the case, but there are times when a deviation of the norm is allowed. The current scenario is certainly not what would be considered normal.
  11. A passenger currently onboard has responded that the majority of passengers are happy the Captain chose to come in early and very few people had complaints about the amount of compensation. We only heard complaints from one of our CC members who was not onboard.
  12. Three chairs would be tight, but my question to you is where would you get the third chair? Caribe balconies are awesome and worth every penny.
  13. Thank you so much! I’m glad everyone is safe and making the most of their final days of the cruise. It looks like the majority of the passengers are in complete agreement with the Captain and not looking for any compensation, other than what was offered. Safe travels home!
  14. Princess does not. We’ve sailed on Celebrity Summit numerous times to Bermuda and loved it. We tried NCL Epic once a few years ago and it was not enjoyable.
  15. Love their Lemon tonic and Mediterranean tonic. Delicious!
  16. Thank you, anyway. I may just buy some in Southampton and take it onboard in case they don’t have it.
  17. I also need the lovely premium tonics to mix with my beloved Hendricks. My favourite is Cucumber.
  18. Please tell us what you want from Princess. What’s the amount that you feel you deserve for this horrendous inconvenience? More OBC, fare refund, free future cruise? What would make you happy?
  19. No Hendricks! Darn, I hope that changes for our British Isles sailing! Did you notice if the bars offered premium tonics or just the fountain type?
  20. @BBurnsG550I will assume that you now understand that the incident of the expired FCC is totally on you and not Princess. Disappointing but not the end of the world. You live and learn. As to the negative conversation with the Princess rep, I don’t understand why you would judge the entire cruiseline on one call with one person. To be clear, I’m not condoning their bad behaviour, it was clearly unacceptable. You stated that you would not be returning to Princess, which is your choice, but to base that on one negative encounter with one Princess employee is rather harsh. Perhaps if you had called back and spoken to someone else, your experience may have had a better outcome. I hope you have learned something from all of this and I wish you safe travels in the future.
  21. Did your FCC have a date of expiry attached to it? I doubt if it said “when the pandemic was over” give us a call. Your CVP should have helped you out with a reminder, but clearly it was overlooked. I know it’s frustrating for you, but I doubt if any other cruise line was giving out FCCs without expiry dates. Sorry that you’ve experienced some rude behaviour from a Princess rep. That’s just inexcusable. I hope that you enjoy your next cruise with whichever line you choose. We, personally love Celebrity.
  22. Good luck! Your question was “are we cutting it close on time”. I think yes you are, but if you feel confident then I hope it all works out for you.
