  1. Perhaps none of this is any of your business. Princess offers various packages and it’s up to us to decide if we want it or not. Period. Yes, Princess makes money on the packages, but you are not forced to buy it. How much alcohol people consume is strictly their decision and you have no right to judge anyone.
  2. It really is quite cute but definitely generic, so not surprising the Princess mods moved it so everyone on CC could enjoy it.
  3. It’s not just a glass of fresh orange juice. Fruit and/or veggie blends custom made to order. No comparison to the other stuff.
  4. I believe they’re referring to the juice bar where you get custom made blends. Yes, they are expensive, but so good.
  5. There is no right or wrong decision. We’re all adults capable of doing what fits our budget and lifestyle. If you want any of the packages just for convenience sake alone, and you can afford it, then by all means do so. If you’ve done your homework and know you’ll be saving a few dollars, then by all means do so. If it doesn’t work out to your advantage or you just don’t want to spend the money, then by all means don’t buy it. It’s really very simple. I just don’t like it when people decide that what works or doesn’t work for them personally is what’s best for everybody else. It’s nobody’s business if you want to drink just water or if you drink 4+ glasses of wine and 3+ cocktails and 2 specialty coffees per day. It’s your vacation and your money and you should enjoy it exactly as you choose.
  6. I think everyone can decide for themselves whether it’s an advantage or not. We carefully calculated what we would spend with and without the package. Plus came out way ahead. If you enjoy alcoholic drinks and specialty coffees that alone makes a big difference. Perhaps it’s not for you, but it does work for lots of us. We’re not “falling for” anything. We do the math and do what’s right for us.
  7. You can find photos on the Princess website. Basically, gelato with cake and cookies and candy all cemented to a tall glass container and they take lots of time to custom make. Some also come with miniature bottles of alcohol. Since you have a package, why is that even necessary?
  8. Absolutely, everyone needs to calculate if it works for them. We purchased Plus for our upcoming cruise. We both drink specialty coffees, cocktails, wine, bottled water to take on excursions, juice, sodas etc. Both of us need wifi. With gratuities included, we more than cover the cost of the Plus package. We won’t have the fancy desserts or the fitness classes, so they’re of no value to us. For us, it’s the convenience of having everything included and not having to be concerned about how much we’re spending on extras. We booked it quite some time ago and in Canadian dollars, but I believe it was $50.00 Canadian per person per day.
  9. At 6:30 we’re having our pre dinner cocktails. We never eat dinner before 7pm, even at home. Our preference is 7:30 - 8:00.
  10. Glad you’re happy with the outcome. Keep in mind that standard balcony staterooms have no sofa or chair or coffee table. Just a desk chair. We found it very challenging to drink coffee or eat anything sitting on a bed. I would jump at only having to pay $700.00 extra. However, you know what you like, so I hope you have an absolutely awesome cruise!
  11. We also like to take our time at dinner and not rush. Two hours is fine for us, which includes our coffee and dessert. We like to order dessert after dinner to see what happens to catch our eye at that moment. Occasionally, we skip or share, it all depends on our mood. My DH is British and this is normal dining time for him. I think Americans prefer a faster pace.
  12. We only book mini suites. I purchase an inexpensive rubber bath mat at the Dollar Store, which is perfect to prevent any slippery tub issues. At the end of the cruise we either just dispose of it in the garbage or our steward takes it away. There is a grab bar to help you get in and out.
  13. We’ve found sail time from Civi to be about 7pm. However, the all onboard time is usually 4pm. Much different from Caribbean sailings. We prefer to board by noon to have lunch, relax a bit and then unpack before dinner. Of course, you can just show up at pretty much anytime after 10am and wait in line. Lots of people ignore Princess suggested check in times.
  14. You got it! My winnings are very far and few between, unfortunately.
  15. I believe that you can also use U.S. cash, if you choose not to charge your onboard account.
  16. I’m sure it will work out just fine! And, you’ll have a story to tell, that is for sure. Look at it as part of your big adventure. Have a fabulous cruise and I can’t wait to read all about it!
  17. Following! Doing this exact sailing in September and looking forward to your take on things. We’ve also booked the Princess excursions for every port, so it will be interesting to read all about your daily adventures. I also would ask that you change your font size if possible. Even with glasses I’m having a hard time reading it and I don’t want to miss anything!
  18. Reservations for The Chef’s Table are made on board by calling the dining reservation line when you board. You should do this immediately after boarding as it fills up very quickly.
  19. Booked Air Canada YYZ to LHR for $800.00 less than EZAir for same seats for September. Prices are now closer to $1000.00 more with EZAir.
  20. I believe that Captain Kate will be at the helm during your cruise on Beyond. If you haven’t already, get a photo of her and Bug. She’s always out and about and very visible to her guests. We met her on Edge. Personality plus! Maybe you’ll catch her standing on the Martini Bar mixing drinks. The truth! Have a wonderful time.
  21. Susan, take a deep breath and relax. You seem to be a touch agitated. I’m not the slightest bit worried about being “relegated to older rust buckets”. As a matter of fact, we have cruises booked on Celebrity Ascent and Beyond in 2024 and a TA on Rotterdam VII. And, we’ll be sailing on Regal Princess this September to the British Isles. Not one rust bucket among them. lol I sincerely hope you enjoy your cruise on Majestic Princess, I’m sure she’s just lovely.
  22. Not the same at all. The Crows Nest is a large observation area with chairs and lounges facing the sea from starboard to forward to port side through floor to ceiling windows. It’s perfect for Alaska. You could check it out on youtube if you’re interested.
