  1. You are most welcome! As for the rubber dam, for my patients who felt uncomfortable, I would cut the rubber away from their nose, so that they could breath without an obstruction. As long as your throat is completely covered, then adjusting the dam is very simple. Have a great cruise!
  2. Before the Cavit has set, smooth it out with a damp cotton swab, not after it hardens. If your original root canal is a short fill, you really do need a retreatment. The reason is that space between the apex of your tooth and the gutta percha root filling material could cause future problems, such as pain and infection. My suggestion is to have the retreatment followed by a crown. Or, extract the tooth and replace it with an implant. In the end, it will cost about the same and the implant lasts forever. Sorry, everyone for high jacking this thread, but a fellow member needed advice. Thanks for your patience!
  3. I would recommend Cavit, only because it’s easy to work with and gives a pretty good seal. Also, it’s not messy. Only problem is if you put a lot of wear and tear on the tooth, the Cavit does break down and could fall out. Take a couple of small tubes if your dentist has them, or you may have to take the tub size. You will need an instrument to apply the Cavit to the tooth and you have to make sure it’s smooth with no bumps or rough edges. You can dampen a cotton swab and wipe it until it feels smooth. Since you still have two weeks before your cruise, I suggest you see your dentist to show you the proper technique. Without seeing you myself, it’s hard to say how stable your tooth is right now. Good luck and please let me know how it went on your cruise. Bon voyage!
  4. Hard to say, because it depends if your tooth breaks off subgingivally, below the gum, or if you just lose the temp. For sure, have your dentist give you some temporary filling material. Do not buy the junk they sell on Amazon! Chew on the other side. If you do have a dental concern while you’re away, the medical team on the ship can find a dentist who could see you as an emergency at the closest port. Also, you could message me here and I could give you instructions. Good luck!
  5. You have a good endodontist! Trust me, it’s not an easy gig. lol
  6. Just look up “the dentist everyone hates”! Root canals get a bad rap but if you have tooth pain I’m your best friend, well sorta. lol
  7. As a retired endodontist, I never leave home without a dental repair kit. If you’re cruising internationally, or to remote locations, finding a dentist can be challenging, to say the least. I suggest that you ask your dentist to give you a little emergency packet, containing temporary filling material, oral cotton swabs, a small plastic monojet syringe for rinsing difficult areas, an interproximal brush and some Sensodyne toothpaste. If you’re in the middle of treatment, be it root canals or crown and bridge, your dentist can also supply you with a prescription for antibiotics or pain meds, just in case of a flare up. I know it’s not at the top of anyone’s list, but if something happens when you’re away from home, it can either make or break your vacation. I’ve used my kit twice for fellow passengers.
  8. We just booked our Princess transfers from Regal in Southampton to LHR and paid half of that!
  9. Sounds like our CVP! I would not be surprised if we share the same, totally awesome, person.
  10. I’m one of the lucky ones. Our CVP is outstanding! Always returns calls or emails within a couple of hours. She’s always on top of everything and no request is ever denied, maybe just tweaked a bit. I wouldn’t even think of booking a cruise without her. Last week I made final payment on a cruise and all of a sudden we have $400 OBC! She is the best and I wish I could share her name with you.
  11. I don’t believe that “worried” is the right word. These folks just like to be prepared and they enjoy making plans ahead of time. Nothing wrong with that. Why do so many CC members *worry* about what others are doing and why they do it?
  12. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures on Discovery Princess. I appreciate the information regarding the comparison to your NCL cruises. I’m surprised to hear that formal night was acknowledged as such. We’ve read so much lately on these boards that formal wear on Princess has gone the way of the Dodo bird. Thanks for setting everyone straight. Yes, the cabins and bathrooms and balconies on Royal class ships are small compared to other lines, especially Celebrity for us. However, we book mini suites and they serve us well, so no complaints. Looking forward to reading the rest of your report!
  13. Deck 17 forward is the Sanctuary and where you book. You must be very, very quick because it books up quickly. Any passengers who are on b2b have first choice and usually the day before you will embark. Go there immediately upon boarding. Good luck!
  14. Reserve Collection was previously known as Club Class Mini Suites and are available on Majestic Princess which the OP is asking about.
  15. This cabin is not Reserve Collection. These cabins start with letter M and then a number, as in M1, M6.
  16. We’ve sailed a few times on Regal Princess and mostly in forward cabins on deck 16 and 15 because of the large balconies. I’m not a fan of aft cabins, but many people love them. Most people are comfortable in mid-ship cabins. Sorry, but I don’t know what “end” you’re asking about. If you could provide cabin numbers or decks that you prefer then it would be easier to help you.
  17. Now you’ve got me crying! You two are the best and your parents must be so proud to have raised such generous and considerate children. Thank you for allowing us to be part of this very special occasion. I hope you come back and tell us how much they enjoyed their cruise. Give yourselves a big pat on the back for a job well done!
  18. Anyone who has cruised more than once understands that things can change rapidly and often more than once. As a matter of fact, it says so very clearly in your cruise contract that you acknowledged. It happens on every single cruiseline, not just Princess. It’s the Captain’s decision based on the safety of the ship and its passengers. If you book independent excursions then you accept the risks that entails. This is on you, not Princess. You can try to blame anybody and everybody, but it is what it is. Perhaps you would be more suited to land vacations since cruising will never be 100% what you ordered.
  19. They are a combination of ice cream/gelato, cake, candies and other stuff in a large glass with goo dripping down the sides. Yum! lol. I think you’ll either love it or hate it. We get them complimentary with our Plus Package, but I doubt if we’ll bother more than once. Since yours are a gift, then I’d go ahead and give it a go. You may like it! Could some kind member please post a photo? Thank you!
  20. I wish we see those prices! Yesterday I checked EZAir again, just out of curiosity, and our flights are $3.00 short of $4000.00 ca! Almost double what we paid a few months ago. Crazy!
  21. My DH and I don’t eat meat, but we do eat fish and seafood. It’s hit or miss on the fish dishes depending on the chef’s skill at cooking fish properly. It’s usually pretty good on Princess. Seafood is okay, certainly not great, but it’s what you expect on a cruiseship. We both love crab cakes, but honestly the ones served on Princess are just not the same, so we may pass. Same for scallops. Most of the time Princess does a decent job with them, but not consistently. I don’t eat pasta, but my DH is a fan of the fettuccine Alfredo. I enjoy the onion soup. The salads are nothing special, so we usually pass. I love crepes! Any kind, any time. I also love Crème Brûlée! Princess does a pretty good job of both. Also, their soufflés are usually really good and I always try them when they’re on the menu. I’m not a big cake or pastry eater, nor is my DH, so he usually orders ice cream for dessert. We occasionally eat in Sabatini’s and it’s always a decent meal. Crown Grill is difficult for us because their specialty is meat, so unless it’s a complimentary meal, we won’t bother. Hope this helps. Good luck on your presentation.
  22. I think it’s definitely doable, but would you enjoy it? If you can save money elsewhere and upgrade to a mini suite, I think it’s money well spent.
  23. So you understand the Husky personality! So dramatic, right. You could take ten Labrador Retriever puppies on a cruise ship and they’d lay down and sleep. Huskies, whether purebred or mixed, are so full of energy and so hyper and so filled with drama and the experience for them would not be so wonderful. Our Siberian, Parka, would probably just howl and try to run off the ship. We love this breed, or non breed, so much and I’m happy for you to be a Husky’s parent.
