  1. Hi Everyone ,

On a cruise in 3 weeks time (Celebrity Century ) that stops at both Adelaide :)and Port Lincoln :).

What would you suggest I do whilst there?

Any locals have insider information on what I should do or see?

Anything that you would recommend, or for that matter ,wouldn't recommend?

I haven't been to South Australia before so completely at lost what to do ..

    Cheers Deb

  2. Thanks, everyone, I am not looking for a 5 star accommodation. just a comfortable bed in close proximity to attractions and food. I am more interested in what there is to see, as I will just be sleeping at the BandB. I agree, Trip advisor is usually useless when it comes to reviews. That is why I asked here in case someone had stayed there. Just happy to be going to Australia. After a 26 hour flight just finding a bed will be great.

    Hi ,

I have booked here for my pre-cruise stay next month ,will report back about the beds and I will check out all the attractions and what is available whilst I am there.I think location is very good and the breakfast looks yummy

  3. Hi Everyone ,

11th November 2014 8 days on the Celebrity Century -

    Celebrity Cruises website

Some really good pricing on suites guarantee ,there is other levels but this is a great deal if you want a touch of luxury at a budget price. :)

Just had a phone call from some of friends who are already booked on this cruise.

Only cost $245 for both of them to go from their outside cabin on deck 4 to a suite .( anywhere on the ship which they are happy with ) ,apparently their has been a few cancellations in the last few days, and yes they were able to keep their drink package ,bargain !

Just posting in case someone who has already booked and wants to do a paid upgrade ,would be worthwhile if you have always wanted to sail in a suite.

    Cheers Deb

  4. Hi Everyone ,

Since I am on the Century as well, thought it may be a good idea to post a very similar question .

I hope that someone can answer it as it is a good question ,

I have been wondering if it is possible to open the balcony up between the Penthouse Suite and the Sky Suite on the Century ,where my family are staying ,I assume that the interconnecting door can be locked or unlocked between the interior wall as required .

    Cheers Deb

  5. Incredible, Concierge cheaper than balcony and only another $40 each for a suite.

    Thanks MicCanberra !

When you made me read the' only another $40 each for a suite again " so it is your fault that I had to make another phone call to my poor travel agent ,(I am feeling sorry about all the work I have made him do with this booking ) we were able to upgrade to a suite ,have a allocation already ,we are in a Sky suite on deck 12 ."1221" just checked and the location suits me perfectly.Thank you :)

    Cheers Deb

  9. When we first started cruising (2012 - The Solstice) Mr Sloop feared that he would be bored when onboard / Sea Days.

Nothing could be further than the truth... He was (and still is) very happy with the many things that Celebrity offers on all it's ships (both S-Class & M-Class)

Personally, we enjoy Food & Wine... And picked Celebrity cause we heard great things about their Dining options.

But that theme carries over into the Celebrity Life events that happen everyday onboard as well. Here then are some examples... Scotch Tastings - Wine Tastings (by country or varietal) - Riedel Wine Glass Workshop - Behind The Scenes Galley Tour - Cooking Classes - Cookoff Competitions (Celebrity Chefs or Pax)

Beyond just this theme... Tons of other stuff too:

Trivia - Guest Speakers - Fitness Classes - Dance Classes - Workshops - Computer Classes

    And so much more !!

Maybe someone will post a copy of Celebrity Today (or a link to one here on the Celebrity Board) so you can get a general idea of the many many choices available every day.

    * Found one !! Here is a link to a recent topic by GRORYJM and his cruise in the Mediterranean on The Eclipse... Not your ship, but it does give a good idea of the variety of activities. In his first post you'll find links to the scans of the Celebrity Today Newsletters for his sailing.

    Hope this helps,

    Cheers!

Thank you ,for the info and the link .Just what I was looking for .

  10. Hi Everyone ,

I have booked the Century, first time Celebrity, but I have cruised on Carnival, Princess and P&O previously.

Someone has asked me what sort of things, they can do onboard as far as entertainment and activities ?

As I don't know as yet, can someone give me a rundown as to what Celebrity has on board .

I don't believe Celebrity isn't a party ship as such like P&O ,more sophisticated and elegant I have been lead to believe ,That is what I wanted anyway.

I assume trivia and art auctions, shows at night but what else is available?

Can someone help me, so that she can know that she doesn't have to read a book for something to do.

    Help me :)

    Cheers Deb

  11. Thanks The_Big_M and Aussie FF,

You have explained it really well for me .

It is after final payment ,the price I paid is nearly the same

only about $100 difference as the suites that are now available .

I will wait now to see what the agent has to say, but it looks like I will be staying where I am for this cruise .

Will report back when I hear .:)

    Cheers

    Deb

  12. Yes, I've done it 5 or 6 times now. On the phone direct with RCI. No problems.:)

Paid the difference on the spot to secure it.

Love those last minute Royal Family Suites.:D

The only catch is if you booked a sale fare originally, you lose the discount and OBC.

Thanks Aussie FF - will see what they say .Although I am a little concerned about losing my first discount , thought I figured the OBC would be lost .

    Cheers Deb

  13. Hi Everyone ,

Has anyone paid for an upgrade from one category to a higher one?

I was looking thru the website (American)that I booked thru and they have reduced their prices ,inside and outside cabins are all sold ,but the prices on balcony and suites are heaps lower.

I have read thru their rules and regulations and can't find anything about being applicable to new bookings only .

I have sent off for a quote to try to upgrade my cabin .waiting for a reply.

I will let you all know if it works or not.

    I guess if I don't ask, I won't know .:)

    Cheers Deb

  14. Wife and I just booked a gty inside cabin on the Century for 8 nts Sydney to Port Lincoln, and return, for $448pp (seniors/past passengers), thru' an oz agent; ended up with a cat 9B on deck 9 :D.

We didn't worry about the 321 option, as we get the 'free' elite happy hour, and as shareholders, we get some obc as well.

    Very good deal....we're happy!

    MP

Hi Mr Princess and wife ,Which cruise? the 22nd Oct or the 11th November they both 8 days to Port Lincoln ?

I am on both cruises ,great pricing!!!!

    Cheers Deb

  15. Hi Everyone ,

Just trying to find accommodation in Circular Quay for my next cruise .

Has anyone used 'Amoma' as a booking agent before ? Just want to check if they are ok or not , has anyone ever used them ? They have good pricing ,or as they same if something too good to be true , are they 2 good to be true.

    Cheers Deb
