  1. There is a lovely lady by the name of Beatrix who is a bartender currently on the Millie. Last I knew she was at the pool bar and Sky Lounge. She took great care of us on the Summit last summer and fall at the Sunset Bar. Couldn’t talk DH into going to Alaska this summer to see her.
  2. Is the OBC refundable or non-refundable. We have a 16 day and 10 day scheduled on Princess and a 7 day on Cunard in the next six months.
  3. Our last three or so cruises on Celebrity this has been a problem. There were enough Premium wines available that we did not totally regret the upgrade, but you certainly cannot count on it right now. And, some bartenders are more willing to search than others.
  4. In looking at this list and the Premium beverage list I see nothing that qualifies.
  5. We remember. Our first one was so cheap and we got upgraded from a bottom line Oceanview to a mini-suite. Agree with you, “they’re a terrible experience”. 😉
  6. This is a casino cruise, so no perks. My husband will certainly be taking advantage of the free drinks when he plays. We will also be bringing on our allotted wine. I am a bit of a wine snob, but I’m sure we’ll have plenty of beverages. I do wish Celebrity would follow suit with Royal. On Royal, we get four drinks a day to use as we wish. But, so many other ways in which Celebrity is superior.
  7. We have done four TAs and look forward to the next (and the next…). As others have said, know what you like to do. We start with leisurely coffee in the cabin and a late breakfast. I’m big on hitting the fitness center and love that there is time every day if I wish to do so. On our QM2 eastbound, we about missed lunch several days due to the Noon time change. I would have been okay, but not DH. Missing a meal is a “no go”. Read through the daily program and pay attention to the lectures. I attended a couple because I “didn’t have anything better to do” and was so glad I did. Explore areas of the ship you wouldn’t take the time to seek out on a busier cruise. If you enjoy playing cards, etc. (not my gig), join the roll call as there will be people with the same interests. I initially thought I didn’t need a balcony, but I love the occasional times to sit out there, plus the light it lets into the cabin. Bring some good books. Plan to relax. Enjoy!
  8. You’re probably right. I just remember the bartenders pushing Elegance on our last couple cruises, but that’s when they had run out of other wines on the Premium package.
  9. Anyone know what brand of wines are being offered for Chardonnay, Cabernet or Merlot? Assuming the Elegance for Chard and Cab. Like several of you, we are doing a casino cruise after having had AI on several cruises. The worst part will be we usually start our evening late. Will have to get ready early if we’re going to make the most of the cocktail hour. 🤣
  10. Interesting. I was going to check Saturday as we would then be 21 days out. However, it loses it’s appeal for me as we’re in a Concierge already with no perks and wouldn’t get the drink package, gratuities, etc.
  11. Same for us in August and October 2021.
  12. We had Sue as the CD on four cruises on the Summit last summer and fall. Perhaps it had to do with the fact there were fewer people on board, but we found her very warm and personable. She went out of her way to make sure plenty was going on in an effort to keep the ship from feeling too empty. She asked us to join her for lunch one day.
  13. Meant to say I did not ask for the hold. I’m sure she was just trying to protect the pricing, but this has caused problems for me in the past.
  14. Had this happen as well. TA put a cabin on hold last night and today I got the email. MS for 12-2 Ruby. I had asked her to place the hold and asked her to release it this morning. We’re still exploring our options.
  15. Has Princess dropped the booster requirement for the full transit? Seems they made a change 9/14, but I want to make sure I understand it.
  16. Sailed on the Summit five cruises last summer and fall. Can’t say enough good things about it. She has been completely renovated, just beautiful. Fantastic food and service. The Move Up process opens 21 days before sailing and you might be able to get a balcony upgrade for not a lot of money.
  17. We have a Hertz car reserved in October from SNA dropping off by the Crowne Plaza where we are staying for two nights pre-cruise.
  18. May I ask how you plan to get from the ship to the airport?
  19. Yes. Called as we had been on several Celebrity cruises lately. DH is not a big gambler, but plays quite a bit. He qualified.
  20. Well, every cruise line call center is under staffed. When the call is first answered you should get two options, 1 for new bookings and 2 for existing reservations. After selecting option 2, I was on hold for about 30 minutes to make my cabin upgrade. The rep was very helpful.
  21. Interesting. We were on the Equinox earlier in July, but had the drink package so DH wouldn’t have known if they were giving free drinks just for gambling.
  22. You got one of the sweet ones. We had the same type on the Summit for four cruises last summer and fall. We’ve been spoiled!
