  1. "Situational awareness" is a good old military phrase we used during hostilities (and other times). It applies in the real world, too.
  2. It's amazing how many women carry their purse everywhere onboard (and I am a woman). We see this on every cruise. We use the safe for passports, wallets, and cash. I am not into many jewels. Electronics and prescription drugs we just leave in the drawers or on a charger. First "Celebrity" cruise was on the Chandris Amerikanis in 1985. No problems at all. We are in our 60's and 70's.
  3. I think they are getting rid of paper invites/notifications (except the shops 🤪 ).
  4. I think I have read that the cabins are the same size, but there are also some closet spaces for cabin steward supplies which cause some balconies to be wider.
  5. Does anyone have a good picture of the whole aft, Sunset Verandas, on the S class ships? Knowing some cabins are numbered differently in that class, we are looking at Equinox. A picture like prmssk posted on mickeysgal thread about Millennium aft cabins.
  6. That's what happened to us in 2017. Our summer mountain home in Highlands, NC (4118 ft) was right under the path. Alas, CLOUD COVER 🙄
  7. We were in the front on the TA and had to ask for bags each time. Paper bags.
  8. Thank y'all! Booked our first SV for Jan 2024. Hoping I picked a good one with a slightly larger balcony. #7364 on the Equinox. We like to be down closer to the water, but not right above public areas.
  9. All the new cabin category names are a little confusing; I guess we are just not used to them yet. So, is SV (Sunset Veranda) a category on its own without a lower cabin to upgrade from?
  10. On the TA before you, we had square soap bars, no liquid soap.
  11. It was like that during the Connie's recent TA. 1547 passengers.
  12. Hello Cruisers, We have sailed on all the M and S class ships, mostly in S16's and angled balconies. For a change, we are looking at the Equinox and Sunset Verandas. We have been on a few Cabin Crawls, but I think we just saw the Family Verandas. Are the Sunset Verandas the same CABIN size/layout as regular cabins? I am assuming the verandas are larger. I could not see any cabin sizes on the S Class Sticky. What are the better SV decks or any other wonderful information? I believe you cannot look straight down at the water, but the rear views must be great. Happy Sailing!
  13. I have never used this option. Can you put in a future cruise booking number (reduced deposit) to hold the cabin request until you can speak to an actual person? What are current wait times to get through toa CVPlanner? Thank you!
  14. We just stayed in Siena for 3 nights before our October 2022 TA cruise. It was wonderful! The Palazzo Ravizza was a great hotel. Located inside the walled city, it has large rooms, with great views. The garden area looks out over the Tuscon countryside and has plenty of tables to enjoy a laid-back day, sunset, and evening. They have a full bar or bring your own. Walkable to everything in town.
  15. We were on the recent Connie TA. Thought the meat patties were double the thickness of the old ones. They were tasteless, and by the time you put lettuce and tomato on, they were too thick to bite (at least for most of us). 😜 The buns were too small and fell apart halfway through. Ate the rest with a fork and knife.
  16. Ha ha, no I haven't seen that thread. Guess I was too busy unpacking and washing clothes. Thank you--we are not alone. 🤪
  17. No talk about Covid at all and did not hear anything about any Covid issues. I think there were some standard "cruise coughs" due to the long cruise and all the a/c. Embarkation. Arrived at 1330, no lines at all. No welcome drinks. Disembarking. Had luggage tickets #1 to get off ship. It ran about 20-25 minutes late due to Tampa personnel getting their act together. Kind of a goat rope in the luggage area. Too small, with roped off areas confusing people. Once out, we headed to the taxi line. One taxi being loaded, none in sight, we were next. We waited about 10 minutes. The walk-offs had probably depleted the first taxi's and it was a Sunday morning before 8. Didn't want to take the $10 per person shuttle being hawked. It was slow to be filled, along with a towed luggage trailer. Taxi to the rental car pick up center (outside of airport) was $30. Six-hour drive home to Niceville, Florida (Destin area) was smooth sailing (with a stop at Trader Joe's in Tallahassee). We will be back on the Connie in March. So glad for our cruise timing. Looks like "Nicole" is going to be a weather issue for many cruises this week. Safe travels.
  18. The "Quisine Family of Restaurants" was only Le Petit Chef on this cruise. Some friends went, and said it was about 30% full. Outside the Oceanside Cafe, they set up a table and were offering 1/2 off (BOGO) throughout the cruise. We passed. No deals on Tuscan. After one meal at Sushi on 5, they gave us a 30% off coupon. We went again. Many times, the piped in music was TOO LOUD! Outside, and in supposedly quieter areas like Cellar Masters. Burgers. We used to enjoy the poolside burgers. On this cruise the meat patties were twice as thick as the old ones (supply issue?). Sounds good, but they weren't very tasty. And, by the time you put lettuce and a tomato on the burger, they were too thick to take a bite out of. Halfway through, the small buns fell apart and we ended up eating the rest with a fork and knife (twice). TBContinued...
  19. It was a great cruise, with great weather. We celebrated her 21st year since commissioning on 31 October. A few notes. The interior community areas were in excellent shape. Carpets and upholstery were redone, and every area was clean and polished. The crew worked constantly to maintain these areas. Our cabin (a sweet 16) had not been redone, except maybe for the carpet. The old red loveseat was well worn. The shower was caulked and recaulked with a little bit of mold. The balcony was pretty dirty, with a lot of painted over rust spots, and white paint drips on the "used" chairs and table. However, we spent a lot of time out there enjoying the fresh air, views, and privacy. The Elite breakfast is not a buffet anymore. It is a selection of plates. Fruit, pastry, meats, cheese, etc. The plates were too big for us if all we wanted was a couple pieces of fruit, and a piece of bread with cheese. We ended up with room service and trips to the buffet. TBContinued...
  20. I heard various numbers 1600, 90 percent, and 80 percent. I asked CC Tumi, and she went to her supervisor. The answer was 1547, with capacity of 2170. So, 71 percent.
  21. The ship is in great shape inside. Our balcony could be better. Lots of painted over rust and lots of paint drips on floor. The sliding door is a bear to open. Service in the Rendezvous lounge has been dismal the past two nights, even with minimal guests. Bartenders and waiters chatting among each other and watching the band instead of providing service. Food has mostly been very good. Weather has been GREAT!
  22. The Celebrity shuttle bus in Palma was free today. 10-15 minutes to in front of the cathedral. Timing depends on traffic. Hardly any traffic this am.
