  1. Could be. We’ll find out for ourselves in January as we have 12 days booked in the cabin that we are booked in for the World Cruise.
  2. That was my first thought! Your in charge of that? He did mention new heavier shower curtains that don’t cling are on order.πŸ€”
  3. Happy to hear that some of our β€œDailey” Floridians are reporting in they are safe and damage free. Still anxiously awaiting to hear from all. Understand that communication is impaired or non existent with millions without power and completely off the grid. All we can do is wait , pray and hope!πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™
  4. We had ceremonies on our Nieuw Amsterdam cruise last year and this year on the Rotterdam. Have no inkling where our medallions are!
  5. Good morning! Woke up to a cool 56 degrees F so maybe we can start cooling the Gulf down and get rid of hurricane season 2022. My heart goes out to all of you who were in Ian’s path. Hopefully, your all safe with minimal property damage. We enjoyed dinner alfresco on the bayou with friends last night. All systems fine on my six month checkup and my left arm definitely know it received my annual Senior flu shot. We had enough wind gust here that the yard and decks need some clean up today. That being said it’s time to get moving and get some stuff done. Thanks for the report and prayers for all in harms way.
  6. Pretty much a bust! Talked amongst themselves mostly. Finally, someone said, ask some of your viewers questions. Someone asked about balcony chairs and Tony didn’t know. They kept trying to get Captain Carl to join and they never could. So really didn’t learn much. Tony did state it was a rough start but that the ship was now running smoothly like the rest of the fleet.
  7. Good morning! Here in the Panhandle we are pretty much out of the hurricane’s window. We are on a wind alert but I’m not sure if that is caused by the cold front as we are 62 F this morning. We could use some rain as we are also in a fire alert ;we are really dry and no rain in forecast. I will just say to all of you in Ian’s path I pray for your safety and that you don’t sustain damage. Close to a Cat 5 this morning!πŸ™ I flew into Nha Trang a couple of times but it definitely was not a holiday! Roy thanks for the celebration listing but I hope that’s only for today! Headed out for a walk when it gets lighter and then have a checkup doctor’s appointment. Graham your eating capacity amazes me!😱 Thanks Rich for the report and to all our contributors.
  8. I’m pretty sure I saw on Weather Channel that Long Boat Keys was in a mandatory evacuation zone. Hopefully, they have sought safe haven.
  9. Same complaints on some other cruise lines. They laid off a lot of people during the pandemic and now have personnel problems hiring new employees and in many cases inexperienced workers I have some cruises booked with Azamara and same complaints. Enough the President of the line sent an apology and explanation of how they trying fix it. Frustrating indeed but sign of the times with many businesses.
  10. @Quartzsite CruiserLenda. That was definitely some good news. Bruce
  11. I scrape scraps from the dishes but modern dishwashers and detergents are designed not to pre rinse. https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/home/cleaning/a33322/stop-prerinsing-dishes/ The plumber installer told us today a couple of tips. Don’t through spoiled milk down your drain. It curdles and clog’s your pipes. A few times a year add a cup of vinegar directly into your dishwasher and run it to clean it out. And that’s my Good Housekeeping tip of the day!😁
  12. It’s official! I have quit my dishwashing job!πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»
  13. We recently were on a cruise in Norway and an excursion was cancelled the morning of the tour. Reason. Local tour guides went on strike that day. Sometimes the.issues are not the fault of the cruise line. Just saying. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.
  14. Just received a phone call. The dishwasher installers are on their way. And the congregation said! AMEN!
  15. Good morning! Slept in this morning which is a wonderful option. Today is the day for dishwasher install. So we are anxiously awaiting a call they are on their way. Not fully confident but hopeful. Headed out for a walk in refreshing low sixties temperature which will be a nice change. It appears we are not going to have much affect from Ian but our thoughts and prayers go out to our fellow Floridians that are in harms way. Hopefully, my security rant yesterday did not offend anyone as it was only intended as a concerned reminder. Never even heard of today’s port of call and every day should be Forgiveness Day. Thanks for the reports. Stay safe. Bruce
  16. Agree. However, there are many other issues other then know addresses and vacancies. Just a gentile heads up to be cautious and watch what we divulge on this thread. Why? I like everyone and this social venue.
  17. City records would probably show every resident/owner on record. I agree FB is a bigger scammer paradise but I was just reminding folks to be cautious. Giving the actual address of a former residence is easily traceable. It’s the world we live in. Don’t mean to sound bossy. Just sharing my personal concerns. I have done a Google search on myself and after breaking it down was amazed on how much info is available on boring me. 😁
  18. Sometimes I worry on these post that a lot of personal information is posted that could lead to personal information that can divulge our full names. Full names can divulge info like addresses. Addresses and stating we are are on a cruise can send up a flag we are on a cruise and our home is vacant and vulnerable. I guess what I’m trying to say is be careful on how much we share on this tread. These pages are not secure and are scammers dreams. Not lecturing just giving some concerning thoughts and reminder.
  19. A Florida Emergency Management member was interviewed today and he stated one of their major concerns is that there are so many living here that have never experienced a hurricane. Turns out 1,100 people move to Florida every day! No wonder it’s feeling more crowded every day. So a big task has been to educate these new citizens. Scary when you have so many that don’t watch the news. Yes, even today I witnessed some folks stating. β€œ What storm!”
  20. We have a cold front coming and I’m feeling confident we are not going to get the brunt of this but one never knows. Went to exchange my empty propane for a new one and they were sold out. Present tank on grill has enough for a week of cooking plus we have a gas stove. Not looking good around Tampa.
  21. @dfish Debbie I do hope your offer goes through. Though I would have concerns buying a home with stairs at my age. Great to have you back.
