  1. Good evening. More good news today in alternatives if we continue onboard Right now it’s much needed bed time. Later tomorrow. Bruce
  2. Possible but they wanted us to take all our luggage with us. That hasn’t gone over well and is currently being reviewed by corporate.
  3. Good morning though it’s 9:30 PM here and Friday. It was just a washout monsoon day here in Cairns. Tomorrow is a sea day and we can tell we are at sea and feeling some movement. Next stops are in New Guinea and are hoping for drier weather. Tis the season. Dinner in dining room tonight followed by an entertainer who was a master of the a six string guitar. An enjoyable show and evening. Enjoy your wake ups and coffee but for us it’s bedtime with a morning wake up on a great adventure. Thanks for the reports and postings. Bruce
  4. Good day! It’s a monsoon rainy day in Cairns, Australia. Cunard’s Queen Victoria just joined us. As mentioned in a late post yesterday we have the option of ending our cruise in Dubai but we have elected to stay onboard. By avoiding the Red Sea we will sail around Africa for 34 days with five brief stops along the was for fuel. Going to be different with few guest on board but we can adapt to this. Even if half the world voyagers stay on it would be less then a hundred guest on board. Our regular schedule will resume in Venice. Our plans for the day have been washed out so we’ll see what New Guinea has to offer after tomorrow’s sea day. Our White Night party was brought indoors but it didn’t hinder folks from having a blast. Whether due to rain or whatever our internet is slow today. Thanks for the reports and post. Bruce
  5. Good morning and we are going to bed- Have a great day. Bruce
  6. Good morning. For us it’s Thursday at 7:30 AM and just waking up, currently at sea and sailing for a late arrival and overnight in Cairns, Australia. Yesterday was Airlee Beach where we spent most of the day sailing around on a large catamaran amongst the many islands. At 11:00 AM all of us on the full World Voyage(195) will finally be briefed on our options and itinerary changes regarding the Red Sea passage that most likely will not happen. So we will just wait and hear the options. Time for coffee. Some pics from yesterday and thank you for reports and post. Not easy keeping up to date on Daily with these time differences and schedules. Bruce Aha the lost morning post has shown up. As an update we are electing to stay on the World Voyage as we sail 34 sea days round Africa with only five short refuel/resupply days along the way. So folks had the option of staying onboard or ending cruise in Dubai. So there could be less then a hundred guest onboard. It is what it is. ,
  7. Just found out that my post earlier today did not post. We will be arriving in Caines, Australia this afternoon and we will overnight here and sail tomorrow for New Guinea. Today we found out our fate regarding Red Sea passage. We have some options. End cruise in Dubai with compensation. Stay onboard and reposition via Africa which we will have 34 sea days with five stops along the way. Where we would pick up on our regular schedule in Venice. Headed to a meeting to hear more. Decisions? Bruce
  8. Airlee Beach , Australia and cruising around on a large caterarnan was a fun but long day.
  9. Time changes so different. We are going to bed and you’re waking up. Goodnight from off the Australian Northern East Coast. B.
  10. 🙏 for a successful surgery for Chucks surgery.
  11. It has been a quiet and dreary day as we steam to Airlee Beach, Queensland. It’s Italian Themed night in Windows (Lido) so we may opt for pasta followed by our guest entertainer. We will visit some interesting and new ports of call this segment. Thanks for the reports and post. Was happy to see Baby Murphy finally leaving hospital. Bruce
  12. Today we are tendering and visiting Mooloolaba, Australia. Have a private excursion of boating along the canal followed by lunch. Will not eat much as we have the Chef’s Asian Table tonight. Dined in MDR last night and enjoyed a Korean stir fry. We then enjoyed our guest country music entertainer. Weather report says ninety per cent chance of rain but it’s nice now. We still have not been told about alternate plans regarding Red Sea transit. It is what it is and we’ll adapt and enjoy. Thanks for the reports and post. Bruce
  13. Mid March Prime C on Onward will have an Asian themed menu for a couple of weeks. Maybe doesn’t appeal to all but we are looking forward to the change. Was shown the menu last night.
  14. Good morning. We turned our clocks back an hour last night.Even though the weather was not the best we had a great visit with friends. Did not do anything else in Sydney. Monster Ovation Of The Seas was in town along with us and Volendam made for a busy city which was already crowded with its large Mardi Gras parade going on that evening. We dined in the steakhouse and birthday wishes continued. Food & Beverage Manager sat down with us for around twenty minutes. Food was good but I was still full from lunch. Today is a sea day. Country Western guest singer tonight. After breakfast will attend morning trivia and get back in the groove of being at sea. Have a great day, thanks for the birthday wishes and postings. Bruce
  15. Morning Graham from Sydney. 20.18,2 March here. Soon to be 3 March. B.
  16. Sorry we couldn’t get together. Volendam was our fist cruise together.
  17. Good day! Wow! What a welcome back yesterday to the ship. Step on ship and security was welcoming us back and wishing me Happy Birthday. Got to cabin and Butler and stewards singing Happy Birthday and cabin decorated. later at bar Hotel Director Elizebeth comes up wants a hug and spends half hour with us. Michael Bar Manager shows up in white gloves and serves me a shot of fifty year Louis Brandy. Usually $240.00 per shot. Through out the night it was birthday greetings. Small ship equals family. Bruce
  18. It is here in Australia. Would be tomorrow at home. Thanks
  19. Good morning/ afternoon. It’s Friday 6:28 AM and it’s back to ship day. I had mentioned in a previous post that it had not rained here in two months. Well today we had a downpour around two AM and there is more on the way. Hope we get out of here as there are areas that tend to flood. The walk from room to resort lobby is long and uncovered and there are no jet ways at airport. You board walking across tarmac and climb up a ramp. Would hate to be soaked on a 3 hour flight to Sydney. Time to get ready. Hope I celebrate birthday on ship tonight and not be stuck here. We are supposed to meet some dear Aussie friends tomorrow in Sydney. Thanks for the reports and have a great day. Bruce
  20. Okay the Ayres Rock viewing is over. We arose at 4:30 AM and headed to the park for a sunrise viewing area. It was dark when we arrived and no bugs. As soon as it started to lighten it was hello we are still here. We saw the sunset on rock from other side. Today we watched the changes of tones, colors and shadows as the sunrise illuminates the rock. Rather dramatic. Then we drove to the base and took a hike. Close up a totally different perspective. Rest of day will be spent inside the cool and beautiful Ayres Rock Resort with exception of lunch and dinner. Leave late morning tomorrow and though will be late back to ship I’m sure the crew will be awaiting to wish me Happy Birthday. A another great adventure enjoyed and many more to come. Bruce
