  1. Another clock back last night. We are now on Pacific time. We will soon be arriving at Pitcairn Island. One of the most remote islands in the world. Over a thousand miles from anywhere else. No runway only accessible by ship. According to our onboard lecture there are now only thirty-five inhabitants and only two of those are under 55. It appears the end is in sight. Not sure if the swells will allow us to tender in. There are no excursions only bragging rights that you stepped foot on. Will see. Last night’s dinner on the promenade was great and a very neat experience. For a first time event they pulled it off flawlessly. Photos from phone have not transferred to I Pad so later. Our CD put on a great performance last night. In need of coffee and it is very good coffee. Thanks for the reports and post. Bruce
  2. Just transited the canal earlier this month on world cruise along with two other cruise ships. Shouldn’t be a problem.
  3. Thank you. Yes, it has been a grand experience.
  4. Another day at sea as we sail to Pitcairn Island tomorrow. Tonight will be our third night of turning our clocks back. Another day of naturalist Nigel Marven’s great lectures, another cooking demo, maybe some pool time. Roy our Asst. CD served the Sizzling dogs yesterday followed by singing some Australian Classics during Australian Day. Tonight our orchestra does Big Band Era performance followed by our CD Martin Lawson performing. Life is good.
  5. Good morning, We set our clocks back an hour again last night. As that continues any post from me will be later as we continue heading West. Enjoyed our dinner in Discovery (MDR) last night. Had a very nice Mongolian Lamb stir fry. Can’t seem to get through a day without a small scoop of their home made gelato at no extra charge. We have more lectures today, exercise, maybe some pool time and the never been done before dinner on promenade. It has been a general consensus around the ship from those on segments or the whole voyage that the cruise has been pretty much perfect so far. The crew and officers are a fine tuned and dedicated team that have bought into providing us the best that cruising has to offer. Our World Cruise Host Lee keeps us informed through What’s App and is always available to assist with any matter. Our Butler must ask us three times a day if there is anything we need. I think he gets frustrated when we reply no thank you. I did have a new pair of pants that were a tad too long. In ten minutes the ships tailor was at our door. Took measurement and the altered pants were back that afternoon. Yes, the tailor got a tip. Tonight after dinner the ships orchestra will perform Big Band Era medleys followed by our Cruise Director Martin who is a great singer. Any CD’s or Assistant CD have to have Broadway or Theater experience. Enough rambling. Off to coffee. Jacqui thanks for getting us going and a big thanks to our dedicated columnist. Enjoy your weekend. Bruce
  6. I have not met one person on just some segments or segment that isn’t enjoying the cruise immensely. There is one Trivia game that does last the entire cruise. Teams of ten and there are some players who are on segments. The rest of the trivia we have always been able to join a team or start a new one. Living Room late disco has been slow. Maybe because they’ve kept everyone so busy during the day. Bridge Master onboard, high caliber guest lecturers, cross stitch, maj jong, folks playing cards, two food demos this week, dance lessons and more. Entertainment has been good. There are only 195 of us on World Voyage out of the 590 guest this segment. I don’t believe we will ruin your cruise experience. Looking forward to maybe meeting you in March.
  7. IMO one lunch and one dinner is hardly a distraction for those on segments. There is a lot of planning that goes into a World Voyage and everyone on board gets to partake on the added events. In fact many of those on segments have stated there is more going on than usual. Last nights Chef’s dinner was new and was enjoyed by any who wanted to attend. Popular enough that the dinner was served in Prime and Aqualina.
  8. Here’s some food porn from Chef’s Signature Dinner last night. First time they have offered this. Chef Sri is having a different one each segment. Tomorrow a special dinner for World Voyagers. Meet for cocktails in Cabaret Lounge followed by dinner on the Promenade under the lifeboats. Another first. Today another lunch BBQ featuring Australian cuisine. Doesn’t get much better than this.
  9. The Pacific is so beautiful this morning. Looks like glass but there is a swell. We found out about our special World Voyager dinner. We will be dining on the promenade under the life boats. Should be special. For lunch today another BBQ with an Australian theme. They sure love to BBQ.
  10. Good morning. We moved our clocks back an hour last night so back on Central. We’ll do it again tonight. We had a lovely Chefs dinner last night. First time they offered this meal. Tomorrow night they are having a special dinner for the World Voyagers. It will be another first so we will have to wait and see what they have planned. They are keeping it a secret. My food porn pics have not yet transferred from phone to I Pad yet. Not sure you’re interested in seeing more pics from another line? My first decision of the day is to get up and go get some coffee or go back to bed for another hour? The Filipino band had us up and dancing a little too late last night. Thanks for the Fleet Report and May all of you enjoy TGIF. Bruce
  11. Tonight’s menu at Chef’s Signature dinner and again they did another great lunch BBQ. We ate sparsely because of tonight’s dinner. We did have some pineapple as the chef and F&B manager went to local pineapple farm. Delicious.
  12. I assume so but our Indulgence Package entitled us to one free Chefs Dinner per segment.
  13. We will be attending the Chefs Signature Dinner tonight. New to us. Last night’s White Night poolside had folks up and dancing. Saturday night is a special dinner for World Voyages. Not sure what that entails so will have to wait and see.
  14. Some more pics of Easter Island terrain, caldera, ancient village and White Night.
  15. Good morning. Late start this morning. Busy day yesterday and White Night party took its toll. We are here at Easter Island until around noon. Our time zones will start changing as we finally leave Eastern time. We have two more sea days as we sail toward Pitcairn Island of HMS Bounty fame. Tonight we are attending another Chefs Specialty dinner and it’s Chefs choice so menu will be a surprise. Even though last night’s buffet with grilled lamb chops and beef kebabs and tons of options was good and they are having a Chilean BBQ. We will probably skip. One has to limit. Have a great day. Some pics from our Easter Island. Bruce
  16. We did make it ashore and had long tour. It was wow! Pictures tomorrow. Time for a shower and prepare for White Night’s Buffet and Pool Deck Party. Walked over 4 miles today and a lot of it was up and down hills. Phew! We are here overnight and will leave tomorrow around noon. Getting on and off tenders with the swells was challenging for all.
  17. There it is Easter Island at sunrise. Smooth sea but when you look at shoreline some breaking lines. Can hear a lifeboat being prepared for lowering so we shall see.
  18. Good morning. We had an enjoyable day yesterday and thank you again for all of Sue’s birthday wishes. Every where we went the crew onboard was wishing and singing birthday wishes. Even the Hotel Director Elizebeth stopped by to convey birthday wishes. This small ship atmosphere is something else. The HD Elizebeth held a Cross Stitch class yesterday. As we approach Easter Island I can feel ship movement from swells. This is not good. Captain said he has to first sail to usual anchorage area for tendering. If that doesn’t work he will ask permission to sail to North side and see if we could tender from a cove there. It is what it is and we knew there was only a fifty per cent chance. We had an after dinner drink in the Living Room (Crows Nest) saw a beautiful sunset and retired early. Fortunately we visited Tel Aviv a few years ago so that makes it easier for our cancelled visit this time. It’s time for coffee. Thanks for the Report and featured post. Bruce
  19. After an excellent cooking demo we returned to a Birthday decorated cabin and a very nice bottle of Syrah from Southern, France.
  20. Special thank you for all the thoughtful and kind birthday wishes for my DW Sue. @smitty34877Terri Happy Birthday to you. I told the Executive Chef how much we enjoyed last night’s dinner by the pool. I was amazed when he stated it was the first time they had done one. Off to food demo. They definitely keep us busily entertained.
