  1. Good morning. A brisk 37 degrees F. this morning.. Today’s meal just doesn’t seem appropriate for a New Year’s Eve dinner. We’ll be picking up our live cold water lobsters this afternoon. Can pretty much bet the house none of us will stay up to midnight. So we may celebrate with Greenlanders this year. All our church services today are online. Caring for the neighbors cat ends today as they will return this afternoon. We are pretty much in standby mode with very few things left to do. Our flight is six AM Wed. morning so hopefully the mad rush and delays are over. @kazu Jacqui thanks for getting us started and to all who make the Daily possible. Wishes to all for a very Happy and Healthy New Year! Bruce
  2. Happy New Year my friends. Have a great healthy and wonderful New Year. Bruce
  3. Great to hear. When I had umbilical hernia surgery many years ago there was a lot of pain when moving. A few days and all was good.
  4. Quest what a great ship and crew. We loved our Antarctica cruise on Veendam. Thanks for sharing and rekindling fond memories.
  5. Good morning. Another cold morning with temperature at 36 and wind chill makes it feel like 32. Another enjoyable morning of sleeping in. Got many of my little chores done yesterday of prepping the house and getting ready for our housesitters. Maybe I need another cup of coffee to figure out what else I need to do besides a load of clothes. Vanessa you sure put a lot of time and work in keeping the Care/Celebration List up to date .Thanks to all who keep the Daily interesting and running. Enjoy your weekend and upcoming New Year. Bruce
  6. Good morning! Brr! 36 degrees this morning. Only a few more days of cold weather and then it will be a warm winter. Other than one bag awaiting toiletry kits all bags are packed and at front door. I have recovered from whatever and now it’s just laying low and awaiting our flight Wednesday. We have three live Maine lobsters reserved for New Years Eve. We watched Indiana Jones newest sequel last night and it was so so. The last Friday of the year. It went by fast. Thanks to all who make the Daily special. Bruce
  7. Good morning. Yesterday was a loss. I believe I got a bad oyster in the oyster stew. I spent most of the day TDY to the bathroom and bed. Did manage to drop the car off and later pick up with new windshield installed. Not sure how often I’ll be able to post on upcoming cruise especially the further West we go due to time zones and dateline's. Also not sure if anyone wants to follow a non BHB cruise. I believe I’ll take it easy today and try and get some food in me. Thanks for the reports and post. Bruce
  8. Another icon has passed. Tommy Smothers has died. Many of us grew up watching The Smother Brothers Comedy Hour.
  9. @SusieKIslandGirl Happy Anniversary @dfishPrayers for a successful surgery. @RMLincoln May your DH find relief and healing.
  10. Good morning. This will be short as the cleaning ladies are coming and I have an appointment to have the Lexus windshield replaced. Enjoyed our oyster stew dinner last night then watched Oppenheimer. Next Wednesday we fly to Fort Lauderdale. That evening we have a no host informal with a few from our Roll Call. Thursday night is the formal Azamara hosted welcome party for those on entire cruise currently sounds like 195 of us. Then Friday will be the start of our 155 day cruise on the Azamara Onward. Ok need to get some things done. Thanks for the report and post. B.
  11. I agree. It does not look very appealing but thanks for your research and faithful postings.
  12. Good morning. I do hope all of who celebrated Christmas had a memorable day. SIL arrived on time and Sue prepared an outstanding. The weather will be getting colder this weeks with forecasted low’s in the 30’s. Need to head to the pharmacy today as when packing my meds one prescription does not have enough meds to make it to June. I believe tonight’s dinner is oyster stew. I would guess some would pass on that. @rafinmdWell that’s not a good way to end or start a year. Do pray treatments are successful without many side effects. Thanks to all who have made the Daily a daily part of our life’s this year. Enjoy the last days of 2023. Bruce
  13. Good morning and Merry Christmas! @ger_77 Happy Birthday. 🎂 We had an enjoyable Christmas Eve and enjoyed our traditional French Meat Pie followed by Grasshopper Pie. Hopefully we brought some Holiday Joy to our guest who had lost her brother the day before. Dear SIL the twin has made it to Atlanta and her 45 minute flight to here is showing on time around 11 AM. Our meal of the day is going to be a Honey Glazed Ham with delicious sides and desserts. I’m in charge of blow torching the glaze. We got through the night’s storms unscathed and rain will soon be passing. Actually had to remove my red Christmas sweater as temps are rising to 72 degrees. From our family we hope your day is Blessed with memories, Joy, and of course wine. Merry Christmas. Bruce
  14. Merry Christmas Rich and thanks for sharing your cruise experience. B.
