  1. Let's do a comparison between what I see in Oz, and what you are seeing in the US. More questions than answers otherwise. A tour common to most Sydney based cruises is a post-cruise tour of the city and Bondi Beach before being dropped at the airport. Tour = Syd-985 For me to book in Australia in Aussie dollars is $69.95. If you can find this tour on the personaliser, what price do you see?
  2. Nah, roll calls are dead here on Carnival. They have a big social media presence, and have succeeded in having their own corporate version where they can control the conversation. We have two cruises on Splendor next year. No roll calls have been started, and I just couldn't be bothered. By the same estimation, we are the only passengers on our Feb Majestic cruise too.
  3. Star Princess' moon itineraries go on sale next week, but they are a bit pricey. You would think they would at least drop off after they have passed.
  4. The other concern is that cheap Chinese boards are easily prone to damage and melt when overloaded. It isn't the cruise line that is applying a blanket ban, but terminal security. They have nether the time nor the skills to separate the good from the bad.
  5. Anytime between booking and the pier. Normally, you will have a cabin number by 3 weeks from departure.
  6. It has only been open for booking for a few weeks, while Splendor has been holding long awaited cancel/rebook/cancel/rebook again for a couple of years. Also plenty of past Splendor cruisers there too. That said, the only thing that has excited me about Luminosa so far is the prices. It is 2nd prize to having Spirit full-time.
  7. An overnighter would be a different deal though, as it gives you several hours at the attraction. As the home based ships continue to grow, it now seems Sunshine Coast & Gold Coast are off the radar again as cruise ports.
  8. Including the whole of season so far, it also included the loss of the world cruise. All these short cruises are a novelty for a ship that would otherwise only have one visit to Sydney & Brisbane throughout the whole winter season. Brisbane was logical, but she isn't based anywhere over the winter months next year - the big Pacific and World cruises can be started as return cruises from Sydney, Brisbane or Auckland.
  9. After previously languishing at anchor off Cyprus for several months, Encounter's call there this time was just a brief service call. All aboard towards the Suez Canal. Brisbane, your only scheduled full-time ship is on the way
