  1. Same on Vista last month. I remember I didn't want to go to the MDR that night but was happy to find the oysters on the buffet.
  2. Showed $65 for me to when I clicked on it. Like someone else said, maybe it was a glitch showing the price down under. $48 US is about $71 Australian, so not far off.
  3. I haven't read through the whole thread so apologies if someone else addressed this already. We were on Vista last month and only morning service was offered. No idea if it varies from ship to ship or even steward to steward. Our steward let us know on embarkation day that the cleaning service would be anytime between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm, depending on when we left our cabin. He was pretty good about getting everything done while we were at breakfast, including leaving a towel animal. He also told us that despite the 1:00 pm cutoff time, he'd be available if we needed anything else throughout the day. Our last two cruises before this on Breeze we were also only offered morning service but no specific time window was given to us.
  4. That and the Cucina. Right now the lack of those two venues are the only things keeping me from booking Dream.
  5. You can also get coffee at the Havana bar that I've been told is better than the Lido coffee. I didn't find out about it until my last sea day so never got to try it.
  6. If you don't want to wait, what I did was before our last cruise I bought a small thermos. Big enough to hold about three average cups of coffee. I'd head up to the Lido, fill it up, grab a couple of coffee cups and head back to my cabin. Took maybe 5 minutes as I'm usually up early enough where there's no wait for the elevators.
  7. I'm surprised Enterprise still doesn't open on weekends. It seems like they'd be losing out on a bunch of money the way cruising's taken off in Galveston over the past decade.
  8. That's not uncommon. These boards are full of examples of people being given bad info from Carnival reps. Could be that a rep is still new and thinks they know the answer when they really don't. Also a possible breakdown in communication. I think in a case like this the rep probably was told that people with priority boarding get to call in 16 days ahead and assumed that meant all priority because the source of his info wasn't specific enough.
  9. I also had an issue with the size of Vista. I really miss the larger theaters and the seating with drink tables for just about everyone. Every show was standing room only unless you go there at least half an hour early. I'm also a big karaoke fan. Loved the Havana bar, but whoever thought it was a good idea to put Karaoke in there needs to be fired. We actually had people having to sit on the floor because there wasn't enough seating.
  10. We had the same issues with the food on our recent Vista cruise. We always eat at least the first night in the MDR and were underwhelmed this time. After that dinner was either Cucina, JiJi, Bonsai, or the deli. Luckily we also had some OBC to help out with that. We tried the buffet a couple of times for lunch because the offerings looked good, but were disappointed with that as well. Most lunches were Pasta Bella, Mongolian Wok, Guys, or Blue Iguana. We did find breakfast in the buffet to be decent. Bacon was served twice since I'm sure someone out there is dying to ask 😉
  11. My dad lives in Llano. It's gorgeous out there. Luckily the census there has remained about he same since he moved there in '97.
  12. Yep. As gold I don't get much, but the bottles of water are nice. Completely forgot to go by and get them last time. Only remembered the pins because I was at Pixels and overheard someone else ask about them. We didn't have the reminder with the QR code in our cabin this time. Makes me wonder if that was a deliberate move to save money, although our steward did seem to be new to the job and could have just forgotten to set it out.
  13. Cucina has become our go-to for embarkation lunch. Like gopackgo21 said, it's usually pretty empty as most people seem to head straight for Guy's or the buffet for lunch.
  14. Quick PSA- After I rebooked my cancelled Jubilee cruise to a 5 day on Breeze next December I decided to see if FTTF was already available since it's a $40 difference between a 5 day and a 7 day cruise. It was available, but every time I tried to buy it it would disappear from my cart. Turns out I had to click on the More Details button next to the Add To Cart button, then buy it from the next screen. Just thought this might help others who might have the same issue.
  15. Mine was still showing until I booked my next cruise a couple of days ago. My PVP canceled it so he could apply my Jubilee deposit to the new cruise.
  16. Just booked a new cruise today and found out how the 25% FCC works. It's 25% off the total (not including taxes and port fees) of whatever your base cruise fare for the cancelled cruise was no matter how much you had already paid on it. I had only paid my deposit so far for my cancelled Jubilee cruise but was credited with $350 towards the new cruise I booked today. My refund hadn't been processed yet so my PVP was able to roll it over to cover my new deposit, so I paid nothing today.
  17. Just got off Vista yesterday. in our DoND game the first contestant won $10. The second contestant won $1000. He passed up a a couple of good offers including one for a little over $600. He stuck to his guns and pulled it off. I won a bingo package and casino fun play so I was happy.
  18. We found out about it while on Vista yesterday. Put a damper on our last sea day for sure. I really want to cruise again next December, but not about to pay what they are asking for Jubilee on the 23rd. Unless Carnival delays Vista leaving Galveston until Jubilee arrives, I'm stuck with Dream for a cruise longer than five days.
  19. I don't understand people who drink on a cruise. They can do that at home. See how that works?

  21. Great video! Thanks for posting. We'll be in Roatan next week and booked a sloth excursion through Daniel Johnson. We'll keep Bodden tours in mind for our cruise there next year.
  22. Good luck and I sincerely hope everyone has their cabin ready. Heald posted again this morning not to count on it happening. I'm guessing that no one at Carnival thought to change the verbiage on the print outs.
  23. @crazy4themouse posted the she was ale to get it for the Jubilee inaugural next November
  24. Had a chance to get it for my Vista cruise in a couple of weeks but decided to pass on it this time. I liked it for being able to get into my cabin early. We'd unpack, relax for a bit, then head out for lunch. With JH saying the cabins might not be ready that makes it worth less than the asking price to me. I also used to get it for early debark, but that's turned into such a circus that I plan to get Zone 25 tags and eat a late breakfast this time. Only thing left that made it worth it to me was the angry looks I'd get from using the priority GS line. I'll play the odds and hope I don't need to use it for anything this trip.
