  1. I don't think you are allowed to disembark before the cruise is over. I know people get stranded in ports by not getting back on, but there is some sort of maritime law about it.
  2. I have a gift card and I tried to call to add it to my OBC, because I was worried about forgetting it, losing it, etc. The CS Rep that I spoke to had me on hold for over 5 minutes and she finally came back and said that I needed to bring the physical card with me to the ship and have it applied. I guess I could have used it towards my fare when I paid, though.
  3. I was surprised because mine OBC showed up the next day!
  4. I don't think anyone said that TA is the only way to get great discounts. I think that the poster was just saying that, for the, the price discount is more important than having the control to call Princess themselves. I've done it both ways, and right now, I prefer to get the TA discount. Although each of the last 4 cruises that I have booked, I have compared rates going direct and with 2 other travel agencies.
  5. We really liked out travel agent that we had used for several years. She always beat Princess's price, as well as other agencies that we had checked. She retired during the pandemic and we started using someone else in her office. We don't like her as much as the previous agent, she isn't as accessible, but her pricing and the agency perks we get really are great. As for needing attention quickly, we can always get someone else in their office if need be, that can either get ahold of her or take care of our issue.
  6. We had a balcony in a room that held 3 when we traveled with my Dad. The third bed pulled down, but it wasn't above the one near the balcony, it was next to the back of the closet wall. I slept on it and it wasn't bad.
  7. I understand all of this, while they are all valid points, it isn't info that I don't already know. In a perfect world, I would be sitting in Fort Lauderdale by mid-afternoon the day before, sipping a cocktail by the pool. However, sometimes with various work obligations, taking off the day before isn't possible. I was looking for actual experiences that people have had with EZ-Air. We did go ahead and book our flights through EZ Air, the day of. We have a direct flight leaving Chicago at 5:15am, so it does give some time cushion. Also, with it being a direct flight, we don't have to worry about a connection. One day we will both be retired and we can easily go the day before! LOL
  8. Hello! We have a cruise booked, Nov 19th on The Enchanted. We held off on airfare at the time of booking (mistake) and now we are looking to book. We would like to go into FLL the day before, due to all of the airline concerns. However, we both work still and we have flown in Day Of several times in the past, with no issues. If we did a Day-Of fly in, we would book it thru Ez-Air, to give us somewhat of a comfort level. Has anyone on here booked Day-Of thru EZ Air and had their flight delayed or cancelled and Princess had to jump in to get you to your cruise? Could you tell us what they did for you and how it worked out? Also, we do realize that flying in the day before is the BEST scenario. We are just looking at this option and are looking for experiences that people have had. Thanks!
  9. My BIL & SIL were on this same cruise and she tested positive the night before the docked in Canada. She was quarantined in a balcony cabin and he remained in their original cabin. He had the option of flying home without her, but he stayed. Within a day or so he tested positive, too. They had NOTHING BUT GOOD things to say about how they were treated. They had plenty of food, free wifi and beautiful views. They praised the staff and said that they really were in need of nothing.
  10. I can actually answer this, LOL My BIL & SIL were on The Royal sailing Anchorage to Vancouver, 5/21. The night before the boat landed in Vancouver my SIL tested positive and was put in quarantine on a cabin on the 8th deck, with a balcony. (She had a cough the day before and they tested her and it was negative). She was told that she was not allowed to get off of the ship in Vancouver. She would have to quarantine on the ship. MY BIL had the option of getting off of the ship and flying home or staying on board in their original cabin. He stayed on the ship. We were texting with them (we were supposed to be on the cruise with them, but had to cancel before final payment date) and SIL said that she had heard that there were 10 people remaining on the ship due to testing positive. On Sunday, she texted that her husband tested positive on Sunday, so they quarantined together the rest of the trip. They both had nothing but good things to say about Princess. They had good service, free Wifi, free coffee/drinks and about everything that they needed. No complaints from them. They said that the scenery was stunning and they enjoyed it from their balcony and it was a great place to quarantine, if they had to quarantine. They got off of the ship yesterday in Anchorage and flew home. They had said that if they had tested negative sailing into Anchorage, they would have been quarantined in a hotel. Hope this info helps!
  11. LOL Makes sense. Reminds me of a chef our local (now closed) country club hired. We live in a very blue collar area, with mostly a cheeseburger/steak/beer after golf mentality. They hired a chef from California who brought in wine tastings and took away the hamburger and fried chicken and added squid, octopus and a few other more exotic specials. After a few months of not selling the specials that he put out, and having to dispose of the food, and hardly anyone coming to the wine tastings...he left. Know your clientele, improve what needs improvement and LEAVE THE GOOD STUFF ALONE!
  12. If you aren't on the ship and you want to email them about this, does anyone have a contact email for this?
  13. I don't like flavors mixed with my chocolate. I never ate the rasberry that was drizzled on the plate.
  14. Princess has done some stupid things before, but WHY would they change a dessert that has been doing so well? It was a favorite of SO MANY CRUISERS and was perfection (in my opinion)! Every night that we ate in the MDR (over 14 cruises) I ordered the Love Boat Dream. I endured teasing from my family for not trying something different, but I like what I like. I have a peanut allergy, so I know it is safe. I just can't believe that they messed with it. There are so many mediocre things that they could tweak, but they do this! My SIL & BIL are cruising to Alaska right now (we were supposed to go, but had to cancel before final payment) and he sent me a pic of a dessert and said that this is now the Love Boat Dream. I laughed and thought he was kidding. Today, my SIL sent a message that he wasn’t kidding and they were a bit shocked when it came. We cruised in November and it was the same. Any info? First pic ”new”, second pic “old”
