  1. As tempting as tonight’s dinner offerings were, NOT, I decided to ditch my table mates and check out the Buffet for dinner, all in the name of Cruise Critic research, and found to my delight an entire Spanish night with really wonderful food. Spanish tortilla, paella with seafood, probably a dozen main dishes in total, plus some special Spanish desserts in addition to the usual cakes. It’s a bit astonishing, really.
  2. Earlier today, the app showed that one of the entrées tonight is the fabled double cheeseburger. However, that is now gone. Stay tuned for an update.
  3. The captain will start his vacation tomorrow, and we will have a new Captain. I heard his name, but I will figure out how to spell it tomorrow.
  4. Assuming you are honest when you fill out the health questionnaire you will probably be denied boarding.
  5. I don’t have any complaints about the soft furnishings. I see several little maintenance issues, particularly the buttons for the handicapped restroom stall that aren’t working. Very minor things.
  6. I forgot to mention yesterday’s lunch in the Buffet. It was outstanding. There was a German theme and the.grill had six types of sausages, the weisswursts were the best. There was schnitzel and sauerkraut and spaetzle, and Apple strudel, Black Forest cake, Linzer torte. So it get can make delicious food when they try.
  7. I would say it was a bit of both. The steak was not of the highest quality I have ever eaten, it was a very thin cut of sirloin, and the sauce was just meh.
  8. First chic night. A bit of a disappointment. Three of us ordered the lamb and the waiter advised against it. Celebrity used to make wonderful lamb and I’m sad to be told to avoid it. All had the steak Diane instead. It was ok. Not wonderful.
  9. Have only heard one group which was pleasant, nothing too memorable.
  10. I misunderstood. I had been thinking Malta was not in EU yet.
  11. I’m confused because we are on a Rome to Barcelona cruise with a stop in Malta and I thought that solves the VAT issue but no
  12. Have only had one meal so far since I just boarded it today. Dinner tonight in MDR was fine. The number of menu choices does seem reduced, but what we chose we liked. Nearly everyone in my group had the prime rib and the portion size was generous, it was well cooked and well seasoned. I had the mushroom soup, and the beet and feta appetizers, then the ravioli. No change from earlier experiences. Service was friendly and efficient.
  13. Happy to answer any questions you might have. Also on the upcoming cruise which is a transatlantic so I will be back to back. Ask away.
