The ferry goes to both islands, and then back to Manhattan. You can stay on or get off. Statue cruises is the only company that goes to the islands, and you need to book in advance. When figuring out your timing allow at least an hour for the security line.
Book it in advance and be prepared for a long security line. I felt it was worth it to book a pedestal ticket for the SOL (I’ve been several times but only went inside the SOL on our last visit).
I wash my longer thick hair every 3 to 4 days, it’s not greasy or smelly at all. It takes my colorist an hour to put foils in, and the girl who cuts it has to thin it out after she trims it.
I’ve never heard of NCL providing transportation from train stations. Penn station NY is what you want, the next stop is Penn station Newark which takes you away from the MCT.
Yes, the port staff is not employed by NCL. Ships at full capacity and they can’t just bring on extra staff, nowhere to put them. We don’t travel during peak times, not a fan of crowds and lines.
I get it (I don’t drink soda at all so would’ve even pay the gratuities on a soda package if it was eligible for FAS), just pointing out the break even point is 2 alcoholic drinks (or 1 drink 2 sodas or 1 drink 2 mock tails).
We live 20 minutes from the Manhattan cruise terminal, family of 7. Car service and parking cost about the same, we’ve done it both ways, we prefer to drive and park.
The gratuities on the drink package is $21 pp pd, so two cocktails a day make it worth it. Plus you can bring on unlimited bottles of wine with no corkage if you have the package.
I think Junkanoo and goodman’s bay are the only public beaches with restrooms, I don’t know if it’s even possible to go to cable beach without a hotel guest pass.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say it’s probably less of a hassle to get a drivers license in Texas vs. New Jersey. At one point we had folks offering to sit in line overnight for $ to save spots.
Lol I can definitely come up with enough documentation, even the regular one requires a lot (thank goodness I had my health insurance card on me the last time since they couldn’t accept my birth certificate without a bridging document), but I’m not planning on going back until my license expires, and if they allow me to renew it online even better. I’ll just fly with my passport card.
I assure you that every single time I’ve booked 2 cabins for my family, I was told by the NCL representative that my husband and I needed to be booked in separate cabins but folks were free to sleep where they wanted. My oldest were 19 and 20 on our last cruise, living independently at college.
I can, as a parent of 5, it’s not cheap. We got them for our first cruise, 3 day out of port Canaveral, we would’ve been fine with our birth certificates and saved money (we did have insurance). Private island and Nassau. Kids needed new ones before they used them again.
