I’m in NE NJ with family in garden city, I’ve never seen a sign for a rest stop no matter what route we use. You could always find a gas station or fast food place off of exits.
When the kids were little, I’d check out height requirements. On our first family cruise to the Bahamas, we took our 9 and 11 year olds to Atlantis and left younger siblings on the ship with grandparents because they were too short for most things. Bahamas Mar has a 42” requirement for the wave pool and lazy River, most of my kids would’ve been too short at 3.
I believe if the first 2 passengers get the drink package through free at sea, the 3rd doesn’t have to purchase it. The gratuity is around $20 pp pd, that’s cheaper than buying 2 drinks.
Our family of 7 has never made a MDR reservation and we’ve never had to wait for a table in the larger restaurant on any NCL ship. My plan was to grab a drink at the bar if we had to wait, every time I didn’t get my drink (I experienced slow drink service at the table).
There are very few public beaches in Nassau with restroom facilities, Junkanoo is walkable, a harbor beach. Cabbage and cable public beaches are nicer, but no facilities.
The reason you book air through NCL is because it’s usually much cheaper, not because they guarantee you will make it to the ship. Otherwise, instead of buy one get one free, book your own flights and get insurance.
Bring a yeti, keep liquids hot forever (as in if you make tea with boiling water it will take a long time for it to be cool enough to drink). My husband will make tea, and 6 or so hour later decide to add ice and make it iced tea.
We’ve parked in the city many times (my husband commuted for years so prefers to drive in), $10 is pretty unheard of (although he managed to find on street parking marathon weekend, shocking). We usually use a parking app (and get dinged for an oversized vehicle), always park at the pier when cruising.
We are a family of 7 and have never waited for a table on NCL. I’ve looked into other lines (carnival and RCL are also a short drive), but from what I’ve read, their mtd isn’t as good, and we enjoy that aspect on NCL.
My kids are adults, but even when they were babies they were charged the same amount as adults. Babies get charged adult fares on cruises unless there is a special going on and they can’t even go into any pools.
