  1. Our family of 7 eats breakfast together, but do not get there at the same time. We always choose an overflow dining room so plenty of seating, we have our celiac daughter’s order delivered to our table. I have never had lunch or dinner in the buffet (don’t eat lunch after a big breakfast).
  2. It depends on how many nights, and the particular sailing, there isn’t a set price.
  3. Our second cruise was DCL, 3 nights after 6 nights at the BC villas, it was fine, my kids didn’t like the kids clubs, after that we stuck to NCL which worked much better for our family, especially no set dining times, which was difficult with 5 young kids on DCL.
  4. It seems like they still give you a fcc as well for covid.
  5. I know many people who get tested (and even get a flu vaccine), the flu sucks, why wouldn’t one not want yo get tamiflu and get over it faster?
  6. I’m curious about sitting at the bar, I’ll sit at a bar on a ship the same way I do on land, isn’t that what the chairs are for? Unless a thermal spa, no pool (or pool deck), hot tub, only go to the buffet for breakfast, no bingo, no spa services, no photos, no art auctions.
  7. We test for flu, tamiflu really helps but needs to be taken early on. My college kids get sick often and the health centers and urgent cares test for covid, strep, mono and flu a lot (2 doses of antibiotics and you are considered not contagious if you have strep).
  8. It’s been reported that the CS hack is no more (and when it was you booked for the day you were there, not the night before). We’ve done Atlantis twice, and left kids under 8 on the ship with grandparents, it’s really cool but not much for little ones for the price tag.
  9. The last time we were there they charged for the vest, it wasn’t a lot.
  10. The UDP with free at sea is around $20 a day pp, cheaper than others that you pay for.
  11. They already knew, once they swiped a card it popped up.
  12. Although marketed at buy one get one, two airlines tickets were purchased, probably for very cheap. At this point a regular fares ticket would have to be purchased.
  13. It’s going up to $45, still a bargain in Manhattan.
  14. Airline tickets can’t be transferred, if you booked a flight you couldn’t transfer that ticket to another person. We book basic economy so we can’t even get a future voucher, NCL books the cheapest flights.
  15. I disagree about the kids club, yes, younger kids go for babysitting, but once they are 12, it’s a spot to gather with others around the same age to meet up to go off an explore. My teens did not spend much time there at all, just a convenient way to make plans.
  16. In that case I’d take a blow up, there were 1 1/2 years when all 5 of our kids needed to be in car seats/boosters legally, so when traveling I’d make sure we had options not requiring them.
  17. As a parent of 5 young adults, the problem on cruises with this age group is that there don’t seem to be a lot of them on cruises. The older teens meet others in the clubs, the majority of adults are traveling with spouses and friends. My 20 year old is on spring break in punta Cana right now and having a GREAT time because everyone is her age. No one is there with their parents, activities are geared towards her age group. We’ve always spent time with our kids on cruises, usually breakfast, excursions, dinner, karaoke… but the rest of the time they like to meet new people and hang out with them.
  18. But buses and shuttles usually don’t even have seatbelts, what is one going to do with a car seat or booster? If the shuttle has seatbelts I’m guessing the car seat will be required, they should ask (here in NJ it’s 8/80 too, we had a 10 passenger private van hired to take our family to the airport, had to bring 2 boosters for our almost 5 year olds).
  19. I have AOL! It was the only way I could keep my Verizon.net email that I’ve had for decades. It’s pretty awful.
  20. Most are $15 or under (including pina coladas), if you happen to find a drink you want over $15 you just pay the difference and the gratuity.
  21. I believe there is a baby pool but not for kids in diapers. Some of the newer ships have small splash pads for diapered kids next to the bigger splash areas, I don’t think they even have standing water. I think pack and plays are available upon request.
  22. I think that stands for Manhattan cruise terminal.
  23. I can’t agree more, why would one park at a hotel they don’t need to stay at just to pay a bit more and have to travel back to the hotel before getting on the road to go home? Heck we drive the 25 minutes to the port from NJ and pay to park, we could save money parking at the ferry, but would rather spend more to be able to walk to our vehicle from the ship with no waiting involved.
