I don’t think water was ever included in the regular drink package, you used to be able to bring it on but no longer. If you get the free at sea package you can bring on unlimited bottles of wine with no corkage fee.
I have 5 kids, we have given them charging privileges since they were little on vacations. We tell them the limit (we are not generous), they are adults and never spent their limit (including when we gave our 19 and 20 year old beer and wine waivers). The bill can be viewed 24/7. I honestly believe they spend less out of fear.
Living in NJ, I’ve been to the beach100’s of times. We all bring our phones and wallets, I honestly don’t know of anyone who’s even had property stolen. I’m not saying it’s never happened, but definitely not common.
Got my license in 1984, used to go clubbing in Manhattan a lot, one night ended up going home through the Holland instead of Lincoln tunnel, drove until morning, stopped at a diner, called my dad, who spoke to the owner, and drove to us and we followed him home. So thankful for gps!
There can be glitches, but it’s saved me many times from traffic. My daughter’s college is 12 hours away, she’s taken the drive several times and the route they take differs depend 95 traffic.
We are in NJ and have family in garden city, my daughter’s boyfriend lives in Smithtown, thank goodness for waze. I’ve lived her my entire life and always use gps on trips I’m very familiar with to avoid accidents.
Dial 7 and Carmel are the ones I’ve heard mentioned they most, I think some of their drivers do Uber and Lyft too but scheduling it in advance is nice (I’m still not sure if scheduling Uber in advance is actually scheduling a particular driver).
You should be fine, my husband just took an Uber at 4:30 am to Newark airport. You can also arrange car service. Taxi cabs can’t take passengers back and forth to the city so not a good option. We live 10 miles west of Manhattan, when my husband took the bus to work in midtown he gave himself a solid hour.
