  1. I guess Capt Stringer must be on holiday or totally off the Regal. It's just fun to "see where they are". We enjoyed his company at tea one afternoon (pre-pandemic). Just a nice gentleman!
  2. Thank you for another great review of your Alaska Adventures! I looked forward to it every morning. I have already "picked you up" for your Star & Iceland trip. Hope it's amazing! Definitely one of my bucket list places 💕
  3. Following along - our kids/grands are on this cruise. It will be fun to travel vicariously with you/them! Is Capt Stringer still onboard?
  4. We were on the Pearl last summer (Bermuda). We were very happy with the service, food & shows. Not as large as the other NCL ships. I would choose a RT over a one way air return just for convenience. I cannot comment on HAL as I've never been.
  5. Just booked ours - it was a breeze. We didn't know what to expect but it was done within minutes. And, we got the dates and times we wanted! Win-Win
  6. The Lounge is open to Elite, Platinum and Suite passengers. The "nibbles" are nice - nicely plated individually since covid re-start. We made use of the E/P/S lounge more in Europe than the Caribbean.
  7. @Desdichado62 Thank You! I'm liking the ferry route and that's what we going to do first. So appreciate your help 🙂
  8. I’ll look at some notes - that’s the trip that never happened (2020) I wouldn’t be able to recommend - but I might be able to tell you what we had planned.
  9. @sunfan03 Have you thought of a private tour in each port that you are interested in? Generally they can accomodate 6-8 people in their vehicle. It's just a thought - in the past I have arranged for private tours with our roll call and we capped it at 8. Often you can tailor the tour to exactly what you want to see.
  10. @Desdichado62 Just curious, would it be better to head to Gamla stan first - then Vasa - perhaps it would be easier to get back to the ship from Vasa? Thank you for all your input - it has helped me with planning!
  11. @Desdichado62 Thank you so much - I'll check everything out.
  12. That's interesting - I love Dark and Stormy but I do order frequently just Ginger Beer. Never had an issue with that request. It's either the specific ship or bartender. (BA, Pearl, Joy) 🤷‍♀️ Great way around it though - 2 separate glasses - good idea!
  13. Oh yes, forgot about the pistachio martini (also as a shot in Vibe) Yum! Beer shot: Liquore #43 with cream on top - looks like a mini beer. I don't do "shots" but I do like to sip some of them!
  14. Milky Way and Toasted Almond martinis are good too. (I'm not sure, they might be a Princess thing - but most good bartenders were able to replicate on NCL)
  15. That's odd, it used to be blue Heard they were changing some things....................
  16. I have continued with research -lots of good info - taxi at least to first stop might be best Sigh…..not as easy as expected Thank you all!
  17. Thank you! The above is what we’re trying to prevent - we’ve never been. Shortened port time x2 on this cruise 🙁 Vasa #1 on my list along with Gamla stan My Grandfather was born & raised in Stockholm so this was a high priority for me unfortunately time is not on our side
  18. @KEA20 We ended up booking a car service We're using Blackberry - recommended on CC by many. Blackberry Cars www.blackberrycars.com 6-16 Arbutus Street, London E8 4DT +44 20 7254 3344 Pricey yes, but we decided this would work best for us.
  19. And, the tour to the Big Ben tower is 334 steps and is now open to book ! I was waiting patiently but 334 steps is a bit too much for me. Sigh........................
  20. My DH has attended many of the get togethers - is it just for active duty & retired or for all veterans? First time I'm seeing the patches and coin.
  21. I don't - guess I need to learn. 😜 Thank You
  22. @ORV Thanks for taking us along on your trip Appreciate your musings of the Riviera 😊
  23. @Fishbone Hope you are having a great time and not able to post! More importantly, hope you are feeling well - comfy and cozy on your balcony !
  24. I have search, clicked, checked dates - did everything possible - Google should have my history & first born by this time. I'm hitting a brick wall and thinking I might be missing something. I thought perhaps to just take a tour but it seems they are either booked or not working that Sunday. We arrive via Oceania Riviera 10 Sept 2023. Unfortunately our time in Stockholm has been reduced twice. We are arriving at 9:15 (if we are on time) and leaving at 4pm - which means 3:30 the latest. We will be docked at S167 Stadsgarden. Main objective is to get to Vasa Museum and Gamla Stan. It should be doable but I'm concerned with the transportation. Could those in the know help me plan this shortened day without getting lost on the bus or ferry? I would even be open to a taxi to start the process to Vasa. Your help would greatly be appreciated. TY
