  1. Thank you all for different possibilities - all good information! @Bob++ I tried the bus option but it seems it's not an option from Victoria Sta.
  2. @ORV Thank you so much for your experiences on Oceania & Riviera Safe travels today!
  3. I have read quite a few threads about transportation between London and Southampton but not for Portsmouth. Does anyone have recommendations? Staying in London for 3 days (near Victoria Sta) and cruising Oceania 2 Sept 2023. I have reached out to Blackberry for LHR to London. They do have the ability to transport to Portsmouth but thought I'd check for other choices. Thanks 🌞
  4. While I realize that Jaxport is not picturesque (far from it - we live in the area) There are multiple things to do: MOSH, MOCA, VanGogh Experience, Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens (my personal favorite). Rental car to St. Augustine (btw they had a St. Patrick's parade) - Lightner Museum, Flagler College Museum and just the beautiful waterfront city. (Which someone from your ship did) Also, I understand that Oceania also had a tour to Amelia Island. "When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade" AND YES, we have cruised and missed ports - it happens.
  5. What 2 days are you going to be docked in Jacksonville? We live in the area and would love to see the ship. What day & time do you arrive & depart? We're in Ponte Vedra Beach - home of The Players. Ditto what Qruzon said - Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is close by the cruise port. See my link #85
  6. ** See comments above. Also - the Jacksonville Zoo is great for young and old - it's right near Jaxport. https://www.jacksonvillezoo.org/
  7. @ORV I'm enjoying your pictures and impressions of Riviera - can't wait until Sept for our turn. I have noticed that our cabin will still have the bath tub 🤷‍♀️ What exactly are the offerings for Jacksonville? We live at the Beaches outside the city - while it's a lovely area and Jacksonville does have many museums to offer - just curious. Also curious to where you are docking. Enjoy!
  8. @Woobstr112G Thank you for your "live" Sorry to hear the dreaded covid bug got you and Holli but happy you are home safely. Take it slow, rest and lots of fluids! Be well!
  9. @We_like_to_cruise Thank you for sharing your adventures ! Would love to see a picture of DW "elephant pants" 🌞
  10. Thank you I appreciate your input - they get good ratings on TripAdvisor and other sites - I know Viator is a 3rd party but didn't realize that Nordic might be too. However, we tried Project Expedition for Klaipeda & Curonian Spit - since we don't dock until 1pm-9pm - that seems to be the issue of not being able to book with them.
  11. We are cruising with Oceania this September "City Lights & Baltic Beauties" Found Nordic Experience Tours online - showing tour details for various ports. Seems to get good ratings but can't find anything on CC. Has anyone ever used this company, if so, what was your experience? Thanks!
  12. We too will be first time cruisers on Riveria and Oceania. It's interesting to read about the experiences (review seems like a negative word) of those having sailed - especially since the pandemic. I do think it's hard to compare the Caribbean voyages to the European voyages. JMO I do know that our experience with cruising on Princess and NCL - since the restart - the steakhouses have had major issues with their beef. Supply issues have always been stated for the reason, 🤷‍♀️ Being out of stock of many items at the beginning days of a cruise seems ridiculous to me - more mismanagement are my thoughts. On all cruiselines - staff has been wonderful and pleasing! After our last cruise this Feb on Princess, we are so looking forward to Oceania. 🌞
  13. Just off the Enchanted - we weren't impressed with the new menu - interested to hear what you think. Enjoy your cruise - it felt great to get back to cruising!
  14. Just off the Enchanted Princess and the smoke in the casino was overwhelming! Even though there was supposedly a non-smoking area (all open) casino crew was not enforcing. Additionally, there were passengers there just to smoke!!! Princess did away with non-smoking nights - they should just do away with SMOKING in the casino permanently like other cruiselines.
  15. @Lovincruisin1321 Like many have said, it's a personal choice to have hip replacement BUT: I was totally bone on bone with osteoarthritis - so debilitating my muscles were atrophied in that leg - this at a very young age of 50+ (2008) I have never regreted having it done - rehabbed at home and back to work within 6 weeks. The BEST part - I was pain free and still am !!!!! Definitely use all the mobility help if you decide to "work through" this - lots of good posts - Enjoy your trip! Jane
  16. @Astro Flyer What a size comparison! We'll be on the Enchanted this week coming and also trying Oceania for the first time this Sept. Excited for both!
  17. I'm with you on both items - no Kale in my Caesar 😕 and totally miss the Alfredo - that was my "go-to" when all else fails. It seems to be fleet wide - sad!
  18. I loved that! This was from 2008 CB repo NY-FLL via Caribbean ❤️
  19. I had to laugh at this statement - no disrespect meant! 🤷‍♀️ 😉 I must say I have learned alot on this thread - had to google HP and marmite. Being from the US, I have never heard of either - I like learning about different customs and tastes. 🙂
  20. When we were on the Island in the Mediterranean we had many private tours. We met at the casino. I would just pick a less congested area & walk off together.
  21. @Woofa Thank you so much for your detailed experience. While we are seasoned cruisers we have not cruised with Oceania - yet! Looking forward to our trip this September on the Riviera.
  22. An easy fix is to take the belt from your robe and tie them all together
  23. We only had 920 (or so I was told) passengers on that cruise. Most were still trying out their "sea legs" for the first time since the pandemic break. It was still a great cruise!!
