We spent 3 days at a B & B in Fairbanks prior to staying at the Princess Fairbanks for the included 1 night. We checked in and were given our room key, however our package had been sent to the airport despite the fact we had told Princess we would not be arriving by air that day. We then spent an hour at reception whilst they tried to tell us that we hadn’t paid for the land tour 😡. Not a great start.

The tea and coffee we had in the morning was from the room service menu for which there was no charge. The afternoon tea was just a ‘regular’ cup of tea ordered via the TV which was also free. The room service button on our phone didn’t work 🙄.

On Caribbean Princess we ordered tea and coffee for the morning from the room service menu and got pots, plus sugar and milk. One afternoon we ordered tea via the TV and got 2 take-away cups 😳.

We were given a vaccination card for all of our vaccinations at the vaccination centres. We then downloaded the NHS documents complete with QR codes.

On the deck plans on the Princess website, only the M1 mini-suites are Club class which means the other mini-suites cannot use the Club dining room. I don’t know where the M6 category is as the cabins are shown as M1 then MB, MD etc,

I’m sure it was from 5 to 7 on our last three cruises (including Sky).

On our recent trip on Caribbean Princess there were shorts worn every evening by adults (including formal night) - certainly the ones in club dining were not turned away.

They will be fine in ‘nice’ shorts with a polo shirt. We’ve had absolutely no problem with our grandson aged 10 in Club dining or on formal nights.

On Caribbean Princess in August there was a live commentary along the seaway into Quebec which would be on the TV. I asked at guest services as we couldn’t find it on the TV and was told it wasn’t possible and to go on the deck 🙄.

In January our driver rang us the day before to arrange a time and give us his contact number but it seems this is not necessarily the norm.

That sounds a better option than the chaos of the ferry. I’ll remember that for the next time!

Cruisethirsty - We had a port of call here on Caribbean Princess in July. The ferry experience wasn’t ideal. Over an hour wait in the morning and some passengers waited 2+ hours in the afternoon to return.

Just a tip if you haven’t been on Princess since the Medallion app. We were with our 10 year old grandson recently on Caribbean Princess and we could ‘link’ our medallions so could check where he was and he could find us if he needed to.

I prefer the PH suites on the R ships purely for the larger, full width window.

We were on Caribbean Princess in July / Aug and am enjoying your posts. We were in club dining and agree with your comments re the lack of green vegetables. After a couple of dinners we asked for an extra dish of mixed veg to share (table for 4) which made our grandson very happy as he loves veg!

I think Cruise Critic is more of an ‘American’ thing and not particularly well known in the UK.

Some people cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons, should they be prevented from cruising?

Same for us the past 2 weeks on Caribbean Princess but not on Sky Princess in April!
