This has been a discussion on the Princess site. But no one really knows? Some say "the hell with sending some to the ship" - I may discover I need something and want it all with me - especially on a 7 day one. We are only doing 4 days on land. Have the rules changed in two years? What happens if you keep all of it and then are told - No you can only have one suitcase and a carry on. I do plan to pack our formal wear, dresses, clothes for dinner, shoes and thing I know I will only use on the ship. Will we really know the weather conditions two days before? - we always have our suitcases packed two days before and I have better things to do than repack the night before. I want jackets, rain gear, etc. with me - I am old and I want to be comfortable rather than saying to myself or out loud - "How much longer - wish this tour was over so I can relax and be warm in my room!" They say you can only have a backpack on the train and bus. I don't have any backpacks and don't plan to purchase 4 for our trip. Or even drag around a duffle bag - don't have toes either - wheels are the way to go for me. My carryon is still in great shape and I do not want it on the bottom of a pile of heavy suitcases. My son has a wheel carryon with his camera gear and he wants it close to him so he can take pictures especially on the train. So our carry ons will be with us !!

What excursions have they canceled? I may have waited too long to start booking but this is year three of trying to do this family trip. And it took forever to get my refunds -so I decided to wait which I may regret now. I would hate to have them cancelled at the last minute. Several that I want are already waitlisted - RATS!! Do you still pay upfront if you are waitlisted? THANKS

I remember that from our last trip but we had no issues because only 2/3 or less of the seats were occupied. My son's case will have all his camera gear in it and he plans to take pictures along the way so he needs it 0 changes cameras and lens frequently. If I recall, there is luggage storage under the bus and some place on the train - right? We do not use backpacks and I am not purchasing any just for this trip.

My cruise is paid in full but I want to use my points to pay for excursions. You have to pay for excursions when you book so having them mail me the gift cards and taking them to the ship will not work. Anyone able to transfer the points so they can be used for excursions? thanks

Thanks for the reply. I need to call my friend who we traveled with to see if she remembers what we took on the train. My son's camera backpack is the size of an airline carry on and there is no way he would let them transport it. It stays with him.

If I recall, we were told our airline carryons are too large. Do you remember? We have very nice carryons and I never check them - and don't want 5 other things piled on top of them under the bus. I want to keep them with me - will they allow them on the bus and train? And I do not want to take a duffle bag just for the bus/train rides. Thanks

We did a cruisetour 7 years ago but I don't recall exactly what we sent to the ship and what we kept with us on the land portion. We have no idea yet what the weather is going to be like in 5 weeks or what we will want to wear. And if the forecast up there is anywhere like where we live, they will be wrong over 50% of the time so we will have an assortment of clothes. And I like to be comfortable so I may end up taking more on the land portion. Our son and fiance are joining us so I think we will pack our formal clothes and some dresses, shoes, shirts/pants for the guys in maybe two suitcases to be sent to the ship. I plan to pack clothes for layering so I think we will have two suitcases each plus a carry on. We are flying first class so I don't need to worry. My son is a photographer so he will have a big assortment of cameras and lenses that he will want on the land portion. I guess we may be holding luggage on our laps on the buses and train if they are full.

Happy Anniversary!! Enjoy your cruise. Curious about the officers ? Could you take a picture of them? Not sure exactly where they have the picture hanging. Every ships is different. Or maybe they are listed in the patter. Thank you.
