Anyone booking any of the new sailings today ?
Vic The Parrot replied to Host Hattie's topic in Cunard Line
But this is a US website. I find it odd that we can only have guaranty bookings for a trip that's over a year away. ð Unless it's a temporary scheme of some sort to see how ressies are going? Who knows ... guess we have to wait and see. -

Well, I took a peek at availability for the 20Nov Caribbean, and the cabin categories I'm interested in are marked "GTY" and "non-refundable deposit". I've noticed this is the second year in a row that Cunard is doing this, and is it only stateside? Any of my friends in the UK experiencing this? Is there a way to grab a specific cabin even tho they state guarantee? Frustrating indeed ... Grrrrr ðĪŠðĄ -

I was thinking exactly the same thing a while back. Let's hope they're working on that. -

Cummerbunds ... blech Waistcoats are the way to go. Much more flattering (and comfortable) than those silly and annoying strips of cloth. -
I'll be following along. I think you'll like going through "the ditch" ... I've done 4 full transits, and each time seen something that never caught my eye during the previous trips. Enjoy, and have a few drinks for me! Oh yeah ... as for your FLL dinner query. I recommend Manhattan Pizza for a good meal. Nice choices of Italian food (the strombolis are very filling). You'll find them in the same complex as Total Wine, opposite end.

Witness to a holiday major disappointment
Vic The Parrot replied to bobpell's topic in Holland America Line
Of course there are many novices out there. But don't forget about those who say "my schedule won't allow the extra time off" and post their concerns about missing the ship (as well as their flight home etc etc ... ððĪ) I know everyone here has seen those posts. Probably enough of them to fill a few filing cabinets. ðĪŊð -
If you're interested staying in Westminster, I recommend 2 alternative properties in case Rubens is sold out. St James' Court on Buckingham Gate and St Ermins on Caxton St. Both are in a great location (and a few blocks from each other) with easy transportation ... tube station around the corner, and walking distance to the palace and Parliament. Plus there's a great pub down the street. The Albert. Love their fish and chips. ð
