  1. Not impressed by any of the commercials. Lots of religious commercials which is different for a Superbowl. Not an exciting game. See what happens with the halftime show......
  2. My Mom and I had to clean out and sell my aunt's house and her condo when we had to move her to assisted living. She had no kids and her husband had told my Mom, just before he died, now she is your problem. 😲 My aunt was legally blind and was overwhelmed with the whole project, so we had to do most of it once we had moved her. We cleared all the personal items out and sold the Florida condo furnished, so that helped, but the house took us a long time. We sold some stuff and when people came to pickup what they bought, offered other stuff for free. That moved a lot of stuff but we threw away a lot of stuff that wasn't worth keeping and donated a lot of furniture too. I look at all the stuff my Mom has in her condo and try not to think about the house she has down in Florida that we will have to deal with too. Someone asked about my Mom's house in Florida because they are interested in buying it, but she wants to keep it just in case. At least everyone has stopped giving my Mom "stuff". We try to give her stuff that she needs. One of the grandkids sends ice cream. She is the new favorite. 😄
  3. My son is an only child and we do not want to leave him dealing with all our stuff either. We have been purging stuff for the last couple of years but have a long way to go. When we moved into this house, my mother in law also moved in with us. A lot of stuff was put in the attic to deal with later and still sits there over twenty years later. The plan was to clear that stuff out as we were clearing out my son's stuff when he bought his house. Well, housing prices has my son still here. At this rate, he might end up buying this house from us when his Dad retires in five years. Then, he might just get stuck with it all. 😄
  4. I like Flightaware if I am looking for a specific flight as I am tracking someone flying. Flightradar24 is great for what just buzzed my house right now.
  5. I just click on the blue dot or blue star in front of the thread title and it brings me to where I last left off in a thread. It is a blue dot if you haven't posted in the thread or a blue star if you have posted. If there is no blue dot or star, you are all caught up on the thread.
  6. Flightradar24 is a good app to see what is over your house now. You can click on the plane or helicopter and see what it is and its flight path. We have a lot of med flights that go over our house on the way to a major trauma center near us.
  7. It was an annoyance because we didn't want our clothing stained. We could clean our glasses and our ipads easily but we didn't want black spots on our clothing. We didn't look at 720 or 320 since we weren't sailing star class. We picked this cabin as it was the only sky loft left when we booked.
  8. We sailed in cabin 10722 on Quantum, a Sky Loft suite directly below the Concierge Lounge. We never heard any noise from above. We never heard any noise from any of the cabins near us. It was a very quiet cabin with great views for Alaska. Our only complaint was we had a lot of soot on the balcony. They did wipe it down every day but we could see it on our glasses or our ipads when we sat out there.
  9. I would suggest logging off the network and restarting your phone. Reconnect and see if that helps at all. I find that can help at times.
  10. Mom is hanging in there, thanks for asking. 🙂 She is still living on her own and doesn't want to move because she is comfortable. We will never get her closer until there is some crisis that forces the issue. I hope the weather in FL starts cooperating for you so you can get to the beach! We are supposed to be 60 degrees up here on Saturday. Strange winter!
  11. Thanks for thinking of me. 🙂 Things just got really busy and I haven't been reading too much on CC. I have recently caught up on this thread but have been following the world cruise on other sites. People are posting amazing videos and pictures. We have a cruise coming up in May and are looking to book more if the prices cooperate. I appreciate you reaching out with all you have happening. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I am glad you were able to get away and see your family in Amsterdam. 🙂
  12. Yay, power is back. Out about 12 1/2 hours. Temperature in refrigerator was 43 degrees, which according to all I googled, I should trash a lot of things. ☹️
  13. My Mom got hers back about a half hour ago, thankfully. I told her to get her dinner together just in case it goes out again. She keeps her house ridiculously warm, so with the mild temperature today, she was okay. I couldn’t get her and bring her here because we are still out and my house us only 63 right now. If it was still out in the morning, I was going to take her out of there, likely to my sisters since she has a whole house generator. My DH is on his way home from work and we will go out to eat and charge devices. Our most recent estimated restoration time has come and gone and now status is “reassessing repairs”. Time will tell, nothing we can do. Others have it much worse than us, at least we have no damage as far as I can tell. Just a little water that I have dealt with. 🙂
  14. That’s too bad. I keep checking the outage map for updates and our restoration time keeps getting pushed out. I hope they get to her issue soon. My Mom up in NH is out too.
  15. No, still out. Over four hours now, so will have to decide what needs to be thrown away in the refrigerator. Could be worse, at least it’s not cold out. I went out to Dunkin and got coffee. Stopped at a local deli that makes homemade soup. Lots of roads closed due to downed trees and poles. A pole snapped in half two streets over with lots of lines down is likely the issue. Just need winds to calm so Eversource can safely go up in the bucket trucks that are waiting. I think their safety threshold is 35 mph.
  16. 62 degrees just outside of Boston right now too. This storm is really tropical. If it was a classic winter storm, we would be buried in snow. No white Christmas up here this year.
  17. Hope Charlie feels better soon. Glad your basement is dry. I have a little seepage but nothing bad yet. Hope it stays that way since I can’t wet vacuum it up.
  18. Really nasty here too. Our power went out a little while ago. I had planned to spend the day baking and doing laundry. Hopefully, it comes back soon but I know they will have to wait for the winds to calm down some as the utilities can’t do line work if the wind is over 35 mph.
  19. LOL Who is arguing? I was pointing out where there is music available if you sail those classes of ships.
  20. Radiance class has music in that timeframe in the Centrum too. Oasis class has music in Central Park for part of that time. Sometimes it is only one performer who takes breaks after an hour or so. Other times there are different performers, so there is no gap in music.
  21. Gelatin is used in many of the desserts instead of using a lot of cream to stabilize a mousse. It is also a lot cheaper. We have noticed that some of the desserts they had been putting gelatin in don't have it anymore, they have switched back to better ingredients. It is easy to tell when you put your fork through the dessert, if it just glides through, it is likely thickened with cream, but if you are cutting it and the structure stays, it is likely thickened with gelatin.
