  1. My sister is the one buying and cooking the turkey, so I have no say in the matter. They don't usually cook anything that has been frozen and get meat from a particular butcher, fish from a fish store, etc. Just the way they do things. I don't get a frozen turkey when I do buy one, I always get a fresh one from a local meat market. Just preference for the holidays. I do shop regular supermarkets though otherwise as I am too cheap for all specialty everything. 😄
  2. I just went and looked at the prices at the farm that my sister buys the turkey from. Their 18-20 lb turkeys go for $88. The 20-22 lb ones go for $97 😱🦃
  3. It is actually for the whole meal, not per person. Just a very basic meal without all the extras. Not even mashed potatoes!
  4. I have spent more than $61 and I am not even bringing the turkey. I am bringing a charcuterie board for ten, 2 dozen homemade pecan rolls, butternut squash and an apple pie. The charcuterie board alone will be over $100.
  5. Definitely call and see what is happening but there are also itineraries that require kids to be 12 months old and over. It could be one of those and the system is having issues with the child's age.
  6. It was very nice, it was a two bedroom grand suite with two bathrooms. It slept 8 but there were only two of us. Plenty of room! 😄
  7. Pringles as priced similarly in our grocery stores too. There is just a huge mark up on the ships.
  8. There used to be little bags of chips at Park Cafe on many ships, including Wonder, and at The Cafe at Two70 on Quantum class ships but not any longer. If you plan on ordering room service, you could add some to your order so you have some for later, but I wouldn't pay the $7.95 room service fee just for chips.
  9. We book suite GTY when they are available and also bid through Royal Up. We then were assigned our suite and got a 2 bedroom grand suite. I was able to cancel our bids on grand suite and owner suite but do not want to be in the position of not being able to cancel a bid and "winning" a cabin that is of lower value than what I was assigned, so we will not do Royal Up again when booking a GTY. I know it is rare to get something other than a junior suite, but it does happen.
  10. @DaniDanielle She's a cutie! How is Charlie doing? Haven't seen you post much, so was hoping he wasn't sick again. 🙂
  11. That is true in the Crown Lounge, not the Suite Lounge. Drinks in the suite lounge are unlimited and do not require vouchers.
  12. Access to the theater is on deck 4 and 5, so you would not have crowd traffic from that venue. Access to the cabin corridors is from the elevator lobbies, so as long as they are down the corridor a bit, I wouldn't worry about it.
  13. Those cabins have side facing balconies. There is a public space that overlooks the aqua theater that gets very crowded during shows. There is a door that goes from the cabin corridor to that public balcony that I would be worried about slamming all the time.
  14. Deck 6 is our go to deck on Oasis class ships. If we can't get that, we will take either deck 8 or deck 7.
  15. @taznremmy Oh no! Were you treated on the ship or a hospital in Honolulu? I hope you are able to enjoy the rest of your cruise home and have a quick recovery.
  16. Do you have Elite or higher status on Celebrity? It could be a status match.
  17. It is ship dependent. We were give slips for every drink on our recent Serenade cruise and never saw a slip for our drinks on Oasis.
  18. Yes, you can use your drink vouchers for any drink up to $14. Crown Lounge has a coffee machine that makes lattes, cappuccinos, americanos, etc but we don't find them to be very good, even when adding an extra shot of espresso.
  19. There is an ignore feature that you can use if you have an issue.
  20. No ice packs available. I would suggest you buy an old fashioned, screw top ice bag and bring that with you. They are between $10 and $15 depending on the size and do not sweat like baggies do. We traveled after my husband had surgery and was still icing his leg and the ice bag worked great. We just asked the cabin steward for a large ice bucket of ice each day and extra towels. He left a plastic wine chiller bucket twice a day for us.
  21. There are complimentary drinks available in the suite lounge during happy hour for those sailing in grand suites and above. If you are sailing on an Oasis class ship, there is also free beer, wine, soda and bottled water available from 11am to 11pm.
  22. That makes perfect sense, might as well use the 8 vouchers and save on the cost of a second refreshment package.
  23. You should review the benefits as they have changed a lot. It clearly states the drinks are daily. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/crown-and-anchor-society-benefit-grid.pdf
